Can't get to the settings!!

I can't open the win-mobile setting page.
If i press
Start -> Settings
nothing happens. It turns to the home screen of manila, even if i've open another tab, it will turn to home screen.
I don't know wich is the lastest software i've installed, it's a very long time ago, but the setting-screen-problem above exists till yesterday!
and because of this problem, i can't uninstall software or modify any settings...
does anybody know this problem and maybe a solutution?
i don't want to hard reset my diamond
I know this isn't a real solution, but you could try to install quickmenu. It gives you access to your settings folder and all of it's contents straight from the start menu. Maybe then you could get into settings and find the problem.

Thank you for your reply! but unfortunately the settings aren't shown in the QuickMenu too! I think my problem is deeper in the system as i thought...
it seems that the programm (or shortcut?) of the settings-page is broken...
is there a shortcut in the windows folder (or a registry-entry) or any other way to get to the setting-page?
thanks for replies....!

I use SPB Mobile Shell 3.5 and this software knows how to get widgets (shortcut) on Today. There is "Wirelless manager" in Start-Settings-Connections. Make a shortcut and be happy!

Thanx both of you, with the little program from "azahidi's" link i succeeded to use my WiFi, thanx guys your great
Now the only thing is to see how to Unlock ROM and put another one on my phone
Orig WiFi program as supplied with windows can be found using file explorer- Windows folder then scroll down till you see a file"WLanSettings" with a small picture of a PDA next to it.Highlight this file then select copy. Navigate to where you want to install, click in the window. Choose paste shortcut. Next, if you want, rename shortcut. Copy result, navigate to the folder you wish to place the shortcut in (ie settings?), paste. Close explorer, go to start menue, navigate to shortcut just created, should work

Thanks for the suggestion. I already found these WLanSettings, but it still isn't exactly what I'm after. When I launch WLanSetting, next I have to turn on Wireless LAN, wait...because my access point takes a while to appear in the list, because of the waiting period it doesn't "auto connect" anymore, so I have to press "change network" and select it manually from the list with detected access point...Hold it...
Thanks again !! because when trying this (at this very moment), "Settings" appeared in my task manager (after pressing "change network"; this opened Configure Wireless Networks). Through task manager I was able to see what exe-file was behind "Settings". It's "ctlpnl.exe cplmain.cpl,17,2". Thanks to Google I just found out that putting 33# before ctlpnl.exe (without a space!) and saving this as .lnk works perfectly!!!

Just a thought, but have you tried removing the tab (Home page, Menu, Personalise Home Page Tabs) and then re-adding it?
I don't know if that will work, but I suspect it will.
Also, have you done any mods to remove the HTC shortcuts in your startmenu? That does it too.

If you use BsB Tweaks and enable the option "Windows Settings - Show normal settings in start menu" then the settings icon in the start menu goes back to being the classic settings icon (takes you to "all settings").
Instal BSB Tweaks which has a toggle to turn on the 'real' windows settings in start menu.
I know there's another solution to do this, but i don't know where the folder is located to link it on start menu.
I won't install anything additionally for windows settings
Its not a folder to link, it's a control panel item, and therefore isn't easy to link to like programs are.
DO a google on 'links to control panel items windows mobile'
Are you actually saying that you want the settings icon in the start menu to take you to the same thing you get when you click "all settings" on the settings tab?
If so, a 30 second search of this forum turned up this post...

If that's not what you want then can you please explain better?

Since you're on an EnergyROM, you have AMeBa (X-Button Settings) pre-installed.
Go to Start > Tools > X-Button Settings > there's an option there (I think it's the first page) that has things to do for the Start Button. Change that option to "Run App" and select an application you want to run when pressing that button.
It works . Thanks a lot.
