WMP breaks-up playback - suggestions?

Playback on Windows Media Player breaks up (durng buffering) probably due to the slowness of WM50 reading from memory (my MP£ files on fast storage card). Running latest O2 ROM.
Any suggesions?
Try to reformat the card. Don't leave Media player is pause mode when you use PowerSave with a file open on the SD card - others have reported problems with this scenario

Media Player not recognising Storage Card

When I sync my mp3 files to the storage card, all works fine and the card is displayed with The Device in The Media Player. On leaving Media Player and later returning the Storage Card is not displayed, only The Device. File Explorer finds the Storage Card and displays the files. Media Player can play the selected file.
How do I get the Media Player to display the Storage Card as well as The Device? My mp3 files are all on the Storage Card.
I am using ActivSync 4.2 and Media Player 11 on my Laptop.
Help Please
Could this be a Media Player 11 problem?

Thanks Guys
Thank you Prof for the information.
All now works fine but I have logged a fault with HTC Europe so i will wait and see what their response is. I am sure it is a software problem which they can hopefully resolve with their next update.
Hope I don't have to send the unit back as I am in South Africa and we have no agent here-only for Imate.

Workaround
I have been looking into this for about 3 weeks and I am now 95% sure it is because the storage card is full when WMPlayer tries to write its DRM / Metadata to the card. Deleting the MSMETADATA folder is only part of the fix because it frees up space but it will continue to fail. It is still a bug and HTC should fix it up but the workaround it is to leave some space on the card, i.e. don't fill it full of music. I am trialling WMplayer 11 Beta on the PC and it has an option to leave some space free when syncing. Seems to be working fine. For me, this 'feature' is one of the most frustrating things about the device so if you are suffering too then I hope this helps.
FYI I have logged a call with HTC and they are working on fixing it up

windows media player issues

I've been using windows media player for a while. Recently, I got the HTC audio manager today screen plugin. Now windows media player won't play any songs on my device and won't even find my micro SD card. I've already tried uninstalling the today plugin but windows media player still isn't working.
Is there any way to fix this?
Try deleting the MSMETADATA and WMRDM folders and the wmp*.xml files. Found this info on another forum and it fixed the problem for me.
where do you find these files

Windows media player with 8gb?

hi,
Ive recently bought a 8GB Sandisk SDHC
ive copied all my music/pictures/videos, but for some reason I can;t see my storage card in Windows Media Player.
I already did a hard reset.
Does anyone have this problem?
With windows media player when you goto library you have to tell it to scan for new files.
Incidentally since I got my 8GB it does that, it finds 1075 new files and then doesnt actually add them to the library. But the media panel is just fine with it.
You should check to ensure that it's reading the library from the card/phone (whichever you need). I've been without my X1 for a month and a half while it's being repaired, but from what I can remember, there's two locations it looks and there's some way to change it.

Can't load Windows media and HTC music player

Hi,

Hi,
Any can help?
try to check your sd-card. e. g. put it into your computer and do a scandisk over it.
when those multimedia applications start they try to load your playlist which is mostly on your sd-card. if it is corrupted the midiaplayer might not start.
if this is your problem take a look in the rom section. there´s a thread in the discussing the point "sd-card not shown"
Hi,
My SD card should be okay cos i can use core player to play those songs. is there any other possiblity?
Thanks
Hi,
I tried removing my sd card still can't start up my windows media. is there a way to reinstall windows media without hard reset??
I have the same problem.
I asked vodafone if they had a solution and the only answer I got was that I could send it for repairs but it would cost me between 60-90 euro...
