hello,
I'm new to this,
Can anybody tell me how to upgrade to the latest radio rom?
What is the latest rom and how can I do it?
thanks so much
latest radio is 1.18.00. You would have to update your OS rom as well ( or do an upgrade with the same os rom combined with 1.18 radio)
loads of info on the forum about this
are we talking about magician (Qtek S100) or Himalaya (Qtek2020) here?
for himalaya it's 1.18
for magician could be 1.18 but i haven't been following this, since I don't have one
yes imate jam.
If I update my rom, won't I loose all my programs specific to my phone?
I have lot's of extra's on it, and contacts etc,...
from my experience upgrading only the radio don't do much anyway: phone and internet work just the same. So unless you have problems I wouldn't do the upgrade...
the main reason is because the sound quality of the phone is terrible. I hear the people like in a tunnel. I difficult to have a long conversation this way. So this wouldn't help :-/

i-mate now has this listed as a known issue, so hopefully they'll have a solution for it

ActiveSync will put your contacts, calendar, etc back on automatically.
You can also use Tools | Add/Remove Programs in ActiveSync to reinstall your programs.
It's not a piece of a cake, but doing a ROM upgrade isn't the worst thing in the world.
Hi,
I've been trying to get the MDA Vario to vibrate when I get a new Email message, but it will very occasionally do it and the rest of the time it doesn't. I have ticked vibrate in Sounds and notifications, but its still abit hit and miss.
Can anybody help ?
Thanks in advance.
Ash.
Any chance you could maybe let us have a few details such as what ROM version you are using, any apps you use etc.. I'd have a look myself but It's hard for me to see your phone from here..
ROM Version : 2.21.2.6 WWE
ROM Date : 3/9/06 <---- American format
Radio version : 02.19.11
Protocol version : 4.1.13.09
ExtROM version : 2.21.2.109
I have got Pocketbreeze / Pocket weather / TT Navigator 5.21 / Resco 2005 Explorer.
The problem seems to be if the Backlight is on, then it will vibrate. If the Backlight is not on then it will not vibrate for new email, but will still vibrate for new SMS or voice calls.
Im not sure if this behaviour is by design or by fault.
Any ideas ??? I REALLY want the unit to vibrate for emails as its a really good function.
Ash99
OK - I have just tried some tests on my Wizard. With the backlight on I can receive text & email and both activate the vibration function.
With the device in standby (backlight off), a new email notifies and vibrates but does not take the device out of standby. A new SMS both vibrates and turns on the device.
I don't run any of the apps you listed. Have you thought about upgrading your ROM?
MMMmmm ..... Interesting.
I've got the latest T-mobile uk ROM installed that was released a few days ago.
I wonder if there are any other users that have this same issue ?
Also does anyone know of any registry tweaks thsat might help.
Anyone ?
The problem wasn't fixed until AKU 2.3 (maybe 2.2, I don't remember).
In that case ....... What AKU version has T-mobile uk just released ?

I believe it's 2.2, but not sure..I can check for you when I get home and let you know.
Not sure what they released but you can check yourself by going to settings>system>about and looking at the build info. Mine says 14955.2.3.0. The 2.3.0 bit at the end indicates that you have Aku 2.3
T-mobile UK - AKU
The latest T-Mobile UK - Build is 14847.2.0.0
AKU 2.0 - they are a little behind....
but it is certainly a stable build (for me anyway)
Charlie Grillo
Yep, mines 14847.2.0.0 and T-mobile UK took for EVER to release this update, So the gits will prob take another few years to release any other update.
I might have to look at other ROMS. Any suggestions ?
Hello All,
For me , there are two interests in WM6 : speed and integrate VoIP
i am curious : is it possible to have VoIP from WM6 in WM5 ?
Thanx
Yes///
i think we can make cab for woip soft on WM6 for WM5..But now you can use softs like Express Talk Pocket PC (http://www.nch.com.au/talk/) or Wengo Phone (http://www.wengophone.com/) and other..You just have to enter your SIP account..
I've tried the talk express software with no luck in my HTC P3600. Although I can dial out I get no sound. Even with the audio wizard I get no audio. Any idea??? Until now the only working VoIP solution for my HTC P3600 under WM5 is AEGPhone, but I would prefer free software.
Regards,

Hi,
Because nobody can help me with my pb with voice command (see topic pb with voice command), I search a soft like "voice command" : I pronounce the name of the contact who I want to call.
Is there a soft which can replace "voice command" I can install on WM 6.1 Polaris !
Thank you
By
Seb
There is no need to open up another topic. Please dont flood the forum.
AFAIK there is no other software as brilliant as Microsofts Voice Command. Do you have the English version? Or is it included in French? If it's the English version, try to pronounce the name of your contacts as an englishman would do. I had some time to figure out and adapt to the software as well, but now it works brilliantly!
I understand what you said, but how do you explain that ...
On the HTC manual (p236 english version, chapter 14.1)
see the link below:
http://www.htc.com/uploadedFiles/Common/Training_Guides/HTC_Touch_Cruise/Manual/HTC_Cruise_English_Manual.pdf
You can see screen shoot from the record voice function !
You chose the contact repertery,
- click on menu button,
- chose "ad vocal shortcut" on the list
- chose the tel number you want to link with you voice command (cell phone, home, office...)
- and then click on record button (the red circle under)
- Record "Mark"
- and then this contact with be attributes a "vocal command"
That what is writing on the HTC touch Cruise manual !
But I haven't the "Ad shortcut vocal" chose for my contact !
All the 14.1 chapter doesn't work with my rom version

So I am not the only one and I really think my topic could be helpful for the other "voice command french" users.
BEPE have you an idea where come this bug !
Thank
HTC TOUCH CRUISE POLARIS
version rom 1.52.751.2 FRE
date rom 02/12/08
ver radio 1.70.Olinex

i now managed to make calls thorugh voice command, but it was easier to say "peter" than "peter miller call"
but on the other hand, voice command offers a lot more so i couldn't decide between the two^^

I guess you didnt get me: the voice dialer included in the ORIGINAL HTC/O2 ROM is by Cyberon. It's the one described in the manual.
bepe REMOVED CYBERON from his ROM and included MICROSOFT VOICE COMMAND. Microsoft Voice Command is described on the pages at microsoft.com for Voice Command.
If you buy a Renault, rip out the engine and put a Dodge Viper engine in instead, you won't be able to repair the Dodge engine using your Renault manual. You'd have to get the manual which fits the engine... Thus: get a Microsoft Voice Command manual and don't waste your time looking at the manual for a completely different product done by a completely different company. Good now? Original = Cyberon, bepe = Microsoft. Different company, different product. See http://www.microsoft.com/windowsmobile/voicecommand/default.mspx for Flash Demos, an excellent Demo Video and help files, tutorials, tips and tricks.
Edit: I just saw you got it in the other thread, that MS VC isn't Cyberon Voice Speed whatever it's called... And please keep in mind: the ROM by bepe isn't by any means official, he/his work isn't approved by htc, nor o2 nor microsoft. bepe is a cool guy, doing this for fun. but his work is not official, you can't even make him responsible if you **** up your device with his ROM: it's not official and if you tried his ROM and it went wrong, well, that's your bad, neither htc, nor o2 nor microsoft cares. And if his ROM has a bug: if he's nice, he tries to fix it, if he doesnt care, thats ok too. If you want to give him money, thats fine. If you want to take his money, he might get a little angry. If you want his wife: he might kill you...
