Hi,
Is anybody having trouble syncing their Atom to Vista?
Im running Vista Ultimate and Windows Mobile 5.0.
I've connected it to the computer as usual with USB but instead of having active sync pop up, I only get a box that asks me if I want to sync music and photos.
The phone says connected but my calender does not update?
Any ideas?

one can get it at ms
If you need any help with with vista, go look at the wiki, there is a section on vista that helps alot.
hey im using the sync centre and when i connect my phone to the laptop nothing really happens? how can i flash my phone or at least start syncing my outlook etc?
Download WINDOWS MOBILE DEVICE CENTER from here
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsmobile/devicecenter.mspx
chosse what language you want it in from the Green text list and if it is a 32bit or a 64 bit Vista version
Install it and you will be able to sync your device
if that still doesnt let it sync start up WMDC Manually by clicking on start > all Programs > Windows mobile device center
WMDC sucks
That doesn't work. My device still isn't recognized by Vista
Change the USB port. Then look around for how to install Vista sp1
I just dealt with something similar. GOTO Start/programs/Accessories/USBSwitch and change serial to RNDIS
That should make vista see your device
I just got a new PC with Vista, I use to use XP, but I cant sync using Windows Mobile Device Manager.
Install Windows Mobile Device Center 6.1
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsmobile/devicecenter.mspx
also only outlook and sync vista calender or contacts or mail cant sync with pdas
i got my self a new laptop and it also has windows vista and it sync perfectly fine
has anyone figured out syncing with vista ...mine was waorking but now vista updated to 6.1 it won't sync
Try going to Start-Settings-System-USB to PC- and check Enable Advanced Network Functionality
I have tried that ...im lost trying to sync with vista ....active sync 4.5 does not work with vista
you have to use winmo device center and be sure to set it to view all files so u can see the windows folder
WMDC
That's correct you need windmo device center. Active sync is only for x leaving you w/only one option get a compatible product to syncronise on VISTA only. There should be a tread on one of the forums.
Good luck!

Click to collapse
What ROM are you using? I am running Vista Ultimate 32 bit and can sync with my phone. Every once in a while it won't connect. All I do is unplug phone, then I kill mobsync.exe, wmdc.exe, then plug phone back in and wait a few seconds. Most times it connects, but sometimes I have to click on the WMDC icon on my desktop to get it to re initiate the connection...try that and hope it works.
wonder what happened why so many people has this problem...was it when microsoft updated to wmdc 6.1
well ill have to get rid of this phone and get the g1
you can always go back to version 6.0:
