This may not be the right place to post this thread, but here goes. Voice Command 1.6 says that the Caller ID/Bluetooth doesn't work because my build of WM 5.0 is older than 15.xxx.xxx.
How does someone go about getting the latest version of WM 5.0 for their phone?
Thanks!!
HTC is supposed to release an updated ROM based on AKU3.x. It was planned to be released at the end of January. The latest rumours say that this has been delayed until the end of Q1, i.e. before end of March.

Like TrashSlash said, there's no official date, but if you're feeling impatient, Voluptuary has a pretty nice and simple 7.8 unlocked ROM, along with instructions on how to flash it. Worth considering... otherwise, it's probably going to be a while. I wouldn't be surprised if it took until February or March

AT&T wants to sell/upgrade accounts and lock folks into contracts. This is one reason they are "slow" to release updates. I gave up waiting for AT&T and flashed my family's Focus to Tango 2.01a clean ROM. I suggest you try out unlocking your Focus and try one of the ROM's here instead of waiting for AT&T.
Google India has finally announced that they will roll out the update next week..and best news about that is we will be the first to get 5.1 Lollipop (yes...you heard it right, 5.1 not 5.0.2).. It has also been mentioned on the official Android One site as "Fastest Android ever, Android 5.1 Lollipop".. In Indonesia Google has already started to shift devices with 5.1 Lollipop. All the pictures and tweets are confirmed.
hoping that it happens soon

Google had also said to provide lollipop "BY THE END OF JANUARY" which obviously didn't happen.... i don't believe what google india said.. But i also saw the android one website of indonesia.. If google doesn't give us updates, soon we will get ported roms of the devices launched there.. So it is a relief..

Google never officially came out and said that it will be available at the end of January..it was believed by many sites actually..but this time Google has came out officially and confirmed..its just that they didn't mention anything about 5.1 which many news sources are claiming.. That's what we need to see if it is 5.0.1 or 5.1 (sorry for bad English)

I got my new x style but the weired thing is after installing 2 or 3 updates , it's still on android 6.0 but it has may 2016 security patch,
Isn't it supposed to be on 6.0.1 as may 2016 patch was released after 6.0.1??? Anyway to get 6.0.1 without rooting...???
Here's a screenshot
Plug your phone in.
No, 6.0.1 will likely never come to the handset as an official release. There is speculation they aren't wasting their time on 6.0.1 and working on a 7 release for your phone, but that is rumor and hearsay.

Well that's kinda good news it means faster nougat update !!! Or let's hope so!
I was confused by seeing a new firnware version at huawei website places 5th of august 2016 that ends with C636B320 and if i google that it looks like it could be android 6.0?
There is no version number written on the website:
http://consumer.huawei.com/my/support/products/downloads/detail/ascend-g7-my.htm?id=86353
I tried installing it on my phone but I always get installation failed, maybe because my phone is from a different region..
Anyway would be great if they bring an official android 6 update for our G7!
The firmware you linked to is Lollipop.
Android 6.0 is currently only official in Turkey and China, but we are still waiting for the European version to be released.
Unfortunately, we don't know how long we will need to wait for it, if it is ever released.
Also, you are correct that you are unable to install the update since you are only able to install updates from your own region, or carrier (if your device is branded).
Ok I see, a download link of 6.0 is availible on this site, but will probably not work because of different region..
But I will try it, i'm dowloading it now.
Was it successfull? I am still waiting for this update to be released for european devices.
Hi,
How offten is some fix/uprade for this phone?
It depends on who you ask.
Since its andriod one device official response is superfast updates and fixes.
Reality not so fast as of right now. Oreo was released and then pulled. So new users can't update to oreo from nougat through update (settings).
Hope that changes in coming months
The official wording is "monthly security updates", so it should be pretty regular. They just tripped over their own feet rolling out Android Oreo for the Mi A1, apparently they were not quite ready yet but released anyways because they had promised to do so. Presumably that will get better over time
You will definitely have one of the most up-to-date Android phones. My OnePlus X was still running Marshmallow with no official update in sight, so Nougat is already a pretty good update. I expect that it will take them another month to properly roll out Oreo. Android P is also promised, so you will very likely get the next major update as well next year.
