Help - Bluetooth and wifi keep turning themselves on

Hi, guys. Hope you can help...
We have two xda execs on o2. The first is fine - no real probs. On the second, wifi and bluetooth keep activating themselves and are a drain on the battery.
I can't seem to turn it off - The turn on wifi and bluetooth boxes are checked in settings even though I unchecked them half an hour ago when I last turned off bluetooth and wi-fi.
Am I missing something obvious?
Thanks
I would gladly swap for my XDA which keeps switching Bluetooth OFF! lol.
Sorry, I couldn't help from posting given that a significant number of XDA users have the complete opposite problem..
Other than that, I can't help you. I assume you're not running any third party software on there to monitor BT / WiFi ?
Not sure which is worse!
I'm not running any monitoring software.
gaspx: didn't you resolve it yet!?
V
@Vijay, nearly! -- I think ozBT is going to be the saviour for my XDA, but today it was my BT headset which had stopped working(!!);
Actually, come to think of it, ozBT will also switch off BT / Wifi, so you could do worse than downloading that Goldie..
http://oz.sciox.org/ozbt.html
Although i'd be more inclined to look at what software you have installed on your Exec and try and find out which, if any, has BT/WiFi hooks that may be turning them on automagically.
Failing that, Hard Reset the whole thing (after a backup is taken of course..) and see whether the problem is still happening on a fresh device.

Profile switcher

I know there are several apps available for profile switching but I'm looking for some specific functionality.
What I want is an automated profile switch when the mda is on external power.
I think I had a program for this a while ago but due to all the rom upgrades etcetera I seem to have lost it.
Does anybody know which of the known profile apps can do this?
Thanks
haven't come across one that changes the profile based on the charging status however I did have one last year that would react to the GSM cell ID that it was in e.g. if it recogonised the cell at your work it would go into vibrate mode or if it recognised the cell at your home it would switch to quiet or what ever you choose . It was quite neat but I'm damned if I can find it. i'll keep looking.
phoneAlarm will do this
Even Profilws for Windows Mobile does this........ Look at www.winmobileapps.com
Thanks guys, I'll check them out.

Skype and wifi disconnection when screen goes off: registry tweaks please?
I have Skype beta 2.5 on my Sprint Mogul (PPC6800) running on wm6.1. Skype, however, requires the wifi to remain on if you want to receive calls. But when my phone's screen goes off the wifi gets disconnected so skype goes offline and now one can call me if I want them to call me from wifi using skype.
Also, when I am making a call, I want to be able to turn off the screen (or the phone will turn it off after a minute) to save battery, but then the wifi goes off and skype call gets disconnected.
I have tried skype's settings to tell it not to let system go into standby mode and I have tried to change my wifi settings by selecting the non-battery saver mode called "performance." None of these works. When the screen goes off, so does the wifi, and skype becomes unavailable for use.
Can some one tell me a registry tweak to disable the phone from turning off the wifi when the screen turns off? Thank you.
I will have to look for the wifi...for the screen off I use the tool in Pocket Toolman which is a free download. I use it a lot for the "screen off" function so the device stays on but with a blank screen.
Just looked and in the OS tweaks section there is an option I am not using called "keep wifi connection active when sleep" in side Pocket Toolman v2...it's free just google it...

How do I?

My HD2 is an Australian Telstra version hence with a lot of preloaded links.
1. some of these which I cannot delete, any Ideas?
2. I have downloaded a small app to control bluetooth and wifi as I use them a lot, how do I get this to the sense screen, I am in and out of the car a lot.
3. How can I force opera to use wifi instead of the carrier when I am in wifi range
4. I am about to use the replacement HTC sense app by cookie, is it a modified version and will it blend in with my carriers requirements.
5. lastly for today when the phone is locked and the slide is used to unlock, i notice after many disconnects that the buttons are still active, whats the point of the finger slide, or am i missing some thing, I would like to not accidentally disconnect people when i pull the monster from my pocket.
Thanks guys
I appreciate your help
Hey as far as designating a data connection to a specific program there is a cab you can install called wmlonglife that will accomplish this check out this thread to find out more about it
In regards to number 3, once you're connected to Wifi, your HD2 should just use WiFi for everything that uses the internet rather than your carrier.
This means Opera should automatically use Wifi when connected!

App that can switch "Wi-Fi" off and "Location + Bluetooth" on at the same time

App that can switch "Wi-Fi" off and "Location + Bluetooth" on at the same time
Hi there,
I have a use case. On daily basis, when I leave home for work, I will need to turn WiFi off, and turn Location (GPS) and Bluetooth ON. Normally when I'm home, I tend to turn off these two (Location and Bluetooth) OFF because I don't really need them to be on. Is there an Android App that works with stock Note3 that could do this with one simple click/swipe? Thanks!

Not that I know off. But I would recommend NFC tags, I think you can program them to do those functions from what I read. Never tried them myself, since I have a custom ROM and it messes up my NFC.

Thanks! This is a great idea! However, I just bought some NFC tags. They don't work with my samsung galaxy note 3 with my case (Spigen) on. Any other idea that can automate this simple task? Thanks!
I also tried geo-location-base apps, such as "Llama - Locatoin Profiles". It didn't work out very well either. Any other ideas would be highly appreciate. Thanks!
Tried Tasker, Automate???
