Hey there,
This is my first post. I'm a mac user (no snide comments please). I just got the MDA a few weeks ago, and just can't figure out if it's worth it for me to keep this thing. It surfs the web like sh**. Slower than a snail. I'm on the T-Mobile GPRS system, which is supposed to be really fast.
I've been reading a lot about the ability to MOD my MDA. But if i can't sync the sucker to my Mac, how can i get the files necassary to MOD the MDA? Let me add that i have NO idea how to MOD the MDA. Things like changing the THEME, the font color, etc.
Thanks for reading this post.....

There is no official support for the Mac on any Windows Mobile device, but there are third party tools out there. The Missing Sync (2.5 beta) will sync to Windows Mobile 5 devices. It works nicely and syncs with iCal, Address Book, Entourage, etc. The beta only syncs via Bluetooth, but if you get the USBSwitch tool and switch the mode to Serial, Activesync via USB will work as well.
If all you want to do is send files to your MDA, all you need is OS X's built in tools. Pair the MDA with your Mac and use the Bluetooth file transfer utility to send files. You can also install from CAB files this way; send them to your phone and run it there.
What Mac do you have? If you have an Intel one, you can install Parallels Desktop, which provides a virtualization environment for running Windows inside OS X. They have rudimentary USB Support, but it's getting better. You can also install Boot Camp and boot to Windows when you need to sync.
See there you are with alot of options, dont give up on the MDA yet
got O2 Atom as well as missing sync 2.5. MS froze during connection
I too love my Mac and... well, like my Wizard. But I'd have real reservations about keeping the Wizard if you don't at least have regular accesss to a Windows thing. (An Intel Mac dual-booting would work, of course; Virtual PC mostly works too.)
Here's how I coordinate the Mac and the Wizard:
1) You really do need to flash the ROM, and you need a PC to do it. (I didn't risk this on Virtual PC, but it might work.) I grabbed an old Windows 2000 laptop, put ActiveSync on it, and it works fine. Run LokiWiz or another program to CID and SIM-unlock the phone, then put the newest customized 2.21 USA T-Mobile ROM on it. It makes EVERYTHING better - I get 3 bars where I used to get 0, you get push e-mail support, etc. But if you don't have access to a PC, you can't do this, and you're stuck with the terrible ROM T-Mobile gives you.
You also need a PC to install some software that doesn't come in a .cab installer, though sometimes you can just launch the installer in Virtual PC and grab the .cab file it unpacks and hand-install that.
2) You can pair the Wizard with the Mac through Bluetooth and use it (a) as an EDGE modem and (b) to push files. Use Bluetooth File Exchange, always dismiss the warning that the type of file isn't supported, and the file will push to your Wizard. This is a good way to install programs that come in .CABs. The other way, of course, is to get an SD reader and mount your MiniSD card.
3) There's a great little shareware utility called SyncTunes that will sync an iTunes playlist and your podcasts to an SD card (or MiniSD, of course). I mount my SD card and use that to sync music fairly regularly. iPhoto can also pull photos and videos off the card. Of course. I mean, of course it Just Works.
4) Although it's not as smooth as an iPod with video, non-protected video files prepared for the iPod work pretty well. I use the free iSquint to convert, and play back with TCPMP (with the AAC plug-in).
5) Finally, syncing. I haven't bothered trying Missing Sync, and don't expect to, because you don't need to.
Just make sure you have an Exchange account. If you have one for your main e-mail account, great; if not, get one through mail2web.com. (You might need to get the $2/month rather than the free one for all of this to work.) I'll assume you also have Entourage (the Mac equivalent of Outlook in MS office). Make sure you install the latest Entourage service patch.
That patch allows Entourage to sync with Address Book and iCal. So use Entourage to sync your Exchange account with your Mac information. Then use ActiveSync over-the-air to push all that stuff onto your Wizard. (I.e., configure an ActiveSync server on your Wizard.) Magically, all your Address Book and iCal stuff is there! And, if you do it right, changes on the handheld should sync back to iCal eventually as well (albeit always in the Entourage category).
Hope that's helpful. I'll keep an eye on this thread if any of that didn't make sense, or my fellow Mac faithful are welcome to message me.
As much as I've used Missing Sync in the past for other devices, it just doesn't work well with the Wizard. Too many problems. I also us it with my Mac all the time and I have an account with 4martphone.com. The nice thing is you can stay in sync without actually having to connect and sync (which i'd forget to do all the time). I use Entourage to sync with that Exchange account, then I configured Entourage to sync with OS X's databases (address book, ical, etc). My only wish now is a simple app for my phone that will let me mount the card on my mac as if it were a USB drive.
more on my mac and my MDA
monkey_42 thanks for the DETAILED post. it's so good to finally get some response to my questions concerning the MDA and my MAC. so far, i've only been able to bluetooth some apps to the phone and they seems to be running fine, SPB weather and AGILE messanger. aside that, i'm scared to do the ROM update. read loads of bad reports and issues people have been having. but you're a mac guy so that sooths my concerns. but back to the main issue, how the heck to i get the stuff on the computer. we havea PC at work. i suppose i'll update the ROM the way you mention. thanks again.
T-Mobile claims that they're working on fixing the CHAT issues they're having with the MDA. So at this point, their OZ app doesn't work. They gave me 50 mins extra this month to compensate. Thanks for nothing. But AGILE does work.
sounds like Entourage is the only way to SYNC my Mac to the MDA. So does that mean MAIL is out? i've been using that app for years now. i'd hate to have to give it up. any idea if there are mac folk out there working on any of these issues? it's such a pain to have to deal with a PC.....i know i now own on....time to learn how to deal.
thanks for the reply's guys. l'm hoping this will start more dialog concerning the mac and the mda.

dma....didnt' mean to leave you out in my last response. i too wish the mac would recognize the miniSD when i plug it in via USB cable. no luck either.
is there a mac forum we can contact about this? everyone on this is just PC. i have no idea what they're all talking about. wish i was more PC fluent.

I've used WM5torage to mount the miniSD on my G4 iMac. Works pretty well with OSX, but I had problems with OS 9. Search the forum or Google for a link.
*** LATEST ***
Seems I was mistaken and WM5torage doesn't in fact work on my Mac. I must have used my card reader (which is also oblong and silver) to mount the miniSD card. Sorry if I've misled anyone with this posting.
*************
There's also Softick CardExport II which does the same thing, although you have to pay for this. (They wouldn't let me migrate my Palm licence, so I'm not too happy with them.)
Both apps work by emulating the USB mass storage interface over USB, which is the same way that most modern external USB hard disks work.

I don't think I know what you mean by syncing mail with the OS X Mail.app. You sync mail with your server, not with your desktop mail client. What is your mail coming from? If it's coming from an Exchange server, you sync with that; ditto if it's coming from a POP server. Who's your mail account with - yahoo? gmail? your office? That determines how you check mail on the Wizard, not what program you use to check that same account on the Mac.
When I wrote about Entourage above, that was as a way of syncing tasks/contacts/calendar with an Exchange server. I assume that if that's working for you, you're just checing Exchange mail with Mail.app. If that's the case, just set up your Wizard to ActiveSync with the Exchange server and all will be well.
If that's not the situation, please explain better what you mean by syncing mail with Mail.app, and we'll see what we can do here.
I'm using Missing Sync 2.5 alpha 10 release. I have just found USBswitch which works great.
I can dual boot windows on my intel iMac, but syncing with outlook is not great - it seems to miss the last week or two's appointments.
I haven't tried my windows laptop for outlook - maybe that would work better.
I sync with iCal & Address Book. It won't sync with iCal, but if I enter all my appointments in iCal & let the Mac overwrite my MDA Vario, then all is ok.
Address book seems to sync properly.
Mounting the Vario works in 2.5a10, but unmounting seems to lock up the iMac every time, so it is a last resort.
I'm not upgrading to the US T mobile ROM. everything will be wrong for me in the UK.
I'm contemplating using the imate Rom 2.17 wwe version. What benefits will it give me over my 1.6.2.4 UK T mobile ROM?
And how will I get back all my T mobile stiings for the UK such as GPRS/voicemail/SMS/MMS etc.
syncing with the mac

i appologize for not being more specific. i do use my work email's server, and it pushes my emails to me no problem. the issue i'm having is that i'm trying to become a more appointment accurate indivdual. i figured the best way to do this was by enlisting a smartphone in my everyday routine. seeing that i am a MAC user, i was hoping to include my address book and my ical on my phone, and visa versa. i enter appointments and address directly to the phone most of the time, but sometimes that's tedious and then there's no way to get it on my MAC. when i had a PALM PILOT years ago, i could utilize the PALM software to sync the info to and from my old device, thus backing up any data i had just entered on my phone to my computer.
with the new MDA, there's no way for me to do this. i have seen the MISSING SYNC app out there. but is it worth it for me to buy it? just seems like there's got to be a way to get my phone and my computer on the same page. without spending another $80.00 i'm new to the organizing routine and i'd like to be sure i'm going about it the most efficient way so i can build on a good routine from MDA to MAC and MAC to MDA.
thanks again for the reply. might i ask if you've updated your ROM? and what other things have you modified on your device? i'd like to change my TODAY colors and layout. any suggestions?
cheers,

Post #1 for me on this forum...here it goes:
First: I searched. I scoured. I actually read all the titles of all the posts on the 12 pages of this Tytn board to look for the answer to this question, so I'm feeling pretty good about not getting flamed. That said I am new to WM5 so forgive me if I'm asking a dumb question (usually that disclaimer precedes a dumb question).
Does the Goodlink software work on a Tytn? If I buy the Tytn and it doesn't work, I will have a $750 paperweight until Cingular gets around to releasing the device with a ROM with Goodlink pre-installed, whenever that's supposed to happen. I'm currently using a Treo 650 and Good basicly takes over all of the email functions and the buttons on the device so I imagine there has to be some hardware configuration that needs to be worked out. Since Good comes pre-loaded on the 8125 (and will probably come pre-loaded on the 8525), I know HTC devices work with it, but I need to be 100% sure it will work on the Tytn before I buy. I've never used WM5 so I don't know if Good has to be launched separately from Outlook to separate Goodlink from my pop email accounts. In that respect, I'm a total newbie.
btw- I HAVE to use Goodlink. My admins wont allow anything else and quite frankly I don't think we're running the latest version of Exchange to get direct push, and my cheap company will take 2 yrs to upgrade to it anyway once I suggest it. Like it or not, Goodlink is it for me.
It would be really cool if I could get a very straight forward answer to this question and preferably someone who 100% knows, as opposed to "I think so' or 'theoretically, it 'should'. The answer to this question will drive a $750 decision and that's a lot of moolah for a guy like me. Is anyone out there using Goodlink on their Tytn, or can download it from get.good.com to see if it works?
Your help and expertise is very much appreciated.
Respectfully,
MBN
It is Windows Mobile 5 so it should support it no problem at all. Just to be on the safe side though, I just got my TYTN today and hope to have GoodLink installed on it later today. I will let you know.
Joe
Thanks, Joe! It would be really helpful if you could post the results of your Goodlink install on your new Tytn asap. Also, if you don't mind me asking, where did you purchase the Tytn, and what model version did you get?
Looking forward to a positive reply so I can order one myself tomorrow! This truly looks like the device I've been waiting a few years for.
Thanks,
Michael
I have GoodLink installed on my JasJam and it seems to work exactly as it did with my JasJar. It is little buggy and not as reliable as I would like but it does do the job if you can live with the bugs.
I don't like the way GoodLink took over and make it difficult to have a clean uninstall process. I have been running it for a few days but I going to hard reset my device and install another software.
Also, GoodLink would be better if you could install it on a SD card.
Good luck,
Yep - I installed it and it worked fine. Two things: It needs to be a fresh install (no other apps) when you install, and it also needs to be installed to main memory (even the installer itself).
Now, the downside is that it disables ActiveSync. I had hoped that I'd be able to use Goodlink for my personal email, and continue to use activesync for my corporate mail account, but sadly not. I had to uninstall.
OK, so I installed GoodLink yesterday and here are my results and more info.
First off, I purchased an HTC TyTN Pro from NetworkingRus.com and this was my first purchase from them. Overall, I was very impressed. It was about the cheapest I could find it in the U.S. IN addition, shipping was LIGHTNING fast. I placed the order and 30 minutes later there was an e-mail that the item was ready for shipping. I was really impressed.
Second, I am using the default HTC ROM with the 7/22/06 date. It has been rock solid so far me, knock on wood. I run a pretty lean ship though.
SPB Pocket Plus
"" Weather (w/weather channel template)
"" Backup (Although I have to buy a new mini card)
GoodLink
So I installed GoodLink yesterday and low and behold, everything appears to be working just fine. I was previously using a Cingular 8125, but I wanted to run Mobile SQL and the 8125 doesn't have enough horsepower. I am hoping the TyTN will and so far it does. GoodLink has had issues from time to time in the past, but so far with the TyTN everything has been good, well for almost 24 hours.
The design of the TyTN is great. I have not had to remap keys so far, there are TONS of keys for me to use, and non so far I have not needed. I could do without the camera, but so far this thing is great.
If you have any other questions, please let me know.

Security is the reason why Goodlink must be installed to main memory. specifically when it comes to remote wipe. Since Goodlink is desgined for the enterprise it must have remote wipe feature. If app was installed to SD card and card was removed, remote wipe would be useless.
Also want to note Activesync and Goodlink should work fine together. Just use good for corp data and activesync for personal pop account. thats how I have it configured and its working fine.
Cheers
I've been using goodlink 4.8.1.14 for about a month without any major issues.
A hard reset of the device was required before it would install/sync successfully. In addition, I didn't activesync the tytn until after goodlink was installed and working correctly.
There are a few minor annoyances that I've encountered.
+Only some of the internal addressbook links have been set to goodlink. (i.e. sms, incoming call resolution, etc). This means I need to maintain both an outlook and goodlink directories
+Goodlink occasionally looses the ability to sync and a soft reset is required.
+There doesn't seem to be a way to exit goodlink. You can enter debug mode by typing 'DEBUG', but no command seems to fully exit the app.
Does anyone know of a site that contains goodlink tweaks or hacks? I've google'd around but haven't found anything yet.

why waste your time with Goodlink?? Emoze is free
And does all that and more, inlcuding syncing active sync etc.

Anyone know of a site like this that contains Goodlink tweaks and hacks? I agree, the biggest pain with Goodlink is that some of the phones functions specifically regarding contacts do not pull from the GL contacts db. It would be great if I could get my outlook to pull in info from my GL contacts...
Cingular 8525 and Good Link
Installed goodlink on the Cingular 8525 (aka Hermes) yesterday. Am really unhappy with the way this software takes over my contacts and calendar files. I run Pocket Informant, and would like for this to remain my default PIM just like I told it too. As things are right now, I usually get the Good contacts and Good calendar shown even when using apps like the phone.
If anyone here knows of an easy way to disable this, please let me know. I've found several postings about ways to do it on a Palm Treo -- including a cryptic on on the Good www site, but nothing about Windows Mobile 5.
Thanks
Use Cingular XPressmail if you just want to have push email from work. However, you need to have the client running on your work desktop.
ON my setup, I setup a VMWARE WinXP guest OS that connect to my office exchange via VPN and have the XPressmail running to push email to my 8525. The host OS still have it's own network connectivity to the Internet, online games, etc.

Lanwarrior-
Many people have no choice on the method of push email coming from work, including myself. I don't have rights to run anything directly from our Exchange server and my IT admins frequently run sw updates to my office pc at night which shuts down my pc and reboots. I work at a bank and they're nuts about security so I'm a little bit of a slave to whatever my CIO wants us to use for email and do not have admin access to make any changes to it.
Does anyone know of a Goodlink developers forum such as this one where registry tweaks are listed? There are so many little things I'd like to change about the Goodlink software.
Thanks,

Can you connect to your work email remotely via VPN? If yes, try to setup your home machine with the VPN software and Outlook configured with the Exchange setting. Then run the machine 24x7.
Does your bank allow Goodlink email connectivity? If yes, maybe you can talk to the IT admin.
Don't know enough about programing to know how to do this...but I know there has to be a way ... since I have the new Cingular ROM installed on my 8525 and when I re-installed Goodlink, mysteriously the linking between my good contacts and the dialer disappeard, and now, when I am in the dialer and hit "contacts", it links back to the regular contacts folder. Not sure why this is...

I've had GoodLink on my 8525 and 8125 before that for a total of about a year.
There are very few hacks available. I currently do a few things, like sync my contacts via activesync as well as Good so that they are in both databases - for photo contacts, etc.
The most important hack though is here, how to remove a forced password requirement.

My wife finally got her company to install Good on her Tilt so I'm going to try and set up activesync tonight so she can have the good info and her personal pim info available. Hopefully I can get both to play well together. I'm not worried so much about the button mapping as I am of any possible conflicts between the two. I've heard some of you say it worked while others had no luck so I'm not sure what to expect. I'll post when I'm done though...
Followed the wiki instructions, but despite being sourced from Vodafone (Germany) for the VPA III, the software refuses to install on my V1605. The error message (translated from German) states System Software Found, the installation is not authorised.
Has anyone with a V1605 succeeded in installing BB Connect? Is this a possible clash with the Vodafone customisations or is it more likely a WM5 issue? Any suggestions gratefully received.
many thanks!
Jonathan
There is another BlackBerry connect client on the FTP, uploaded by Ice Blade and some discussion around it here.

I've just updated the wiki with this info, but I haven't tried it and Ice Blade didn't reply to my question. If you try it and know the diference between the two BBConnect clients available, please update de wiki and point it out. Thanks.
Thanks! This works a treat. I will take a look at the wiki and see if there is anything substantive I can add.

blackberry connect and Lotus Notes
Hi JBN - do you know if this works with Lotus Notes and handles calender and tasks along with mail - I'd love to finally junk the blackberry and just have Hermes
ramblings
I'm afraid that I have no experience with Lotus Notes at this level. I would note however that the BlackBerry Enterprise can indeed work with Lotus Notes.
For what it's worth, my BES Administrator tells me that the same level of security functionality exists for BlackBerry Connect as for a regular BB. This makes it an interesting proposition although more difficult to support in terms of the platform compared with BlackBerry. We are slowly looking at Microsoft Push E-mail instead.
Despite the BB-like experience, including the scroll wheel, after a couple of days I have gone back to my old BB. The reason being that I am unsure about battery life and platform stability. It is OK for me as an IT professional but not something that I feel comfortable deploying to our users yet. However, I am childishly excited at having a means to get BB service in Japan!

I have been running Blackberry Connect for a while now on both my HTC Universal and on a TyTn (not at the same time). Whilst email works really well (using the vodafone Germany client), calendar is a different story.
Our Blackberry environment is Lotus Dominos (BES 4.0) and Calendar wireless sync has been a disaster.
Initially, the bulk calendar upload seems to have real trouble with "All Day Events" and canot represent them properly. However, once installed, everything seems to run really well. Two way sync back to teh Lotus Notes Calendar works, meetings invites in email can now be "accepted" or "declined". So far, so good....
However, when you reset the device, the whole device locks up and needs teh SIM taking out, BB Connect removing and start again!! Also, when you do this, random calendr events dissapear from your Notes calendar and meeting "declines" are often sent to the chair of the meeting!
Not good.
Hopefully BB Connect V4 will solve some of this....
I just got my 8125 last night and love it so far. I am coming fro a Treo 650 and have a lot of contacts. I was wondering if there was a way to transfer my contacts from my Treo 650 to my new 8125?
If there are any must have programs I would appreciate some pointing in the right direction.
Thanks
Well a great start is going to http://wiki.xda-developers.com/ it is a great place to get some info. Look here for some must have tools http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=Must_have_tools. As for contacts have a look here http://www.mobiletechreview.com/tips/palm_to_PPC_and_back.htm it says how to do it. Hope this helps and good luck with you 8125.
Thanks for the reply PPCNUT. I read the article about transferring my PIM info from my Treo 650 to my 8125. I kind of really don't like OUtlook at all. I use Eudora on my laptop and Snappermail for my Treo. Is there some other way I can get that info transferred onto my 8125? And yes...I do realize that I am being insane...I don't want this to be a deal breaker for me.
Thanks
I have seen exactly the program you need it is a sync program and it will sync all devices WM, Palm etc and it allows the use of most e-mail programs. I think it may cost $29.99 but it will work with the e-mail client you have got. I will try and find the link and I will post it here.
http://www.sync.com
Costs $70.00 but there is a downloadable trial. For a once time thing it would be worth downloading the trial.
Thanks for the combined help with getting my contacts transferred.
It worked like a charm... I was wondering though as to what PPCNUT said. I think you said that I can use Snappermail with WM5. Is that correct or am I just getting a little too excited?
It looks like all my contacts, memos, tasks etc...came throuhg without any problems. Thanks a lot...I was getting a little worried that I wasn't going to be able to transfer everything.
I am using Pocket Informant. Am I correct in saying that this program is going to be a replacement for Palm Desktop? If it is great. I was wondering if it has the same feature like Palm Desktop where I can type information in the program on my laptop say for example a new contact with all there info and then sync my 8125 and have the info transfer with a hitch?
If this can do it great. If not could you point me to the "right" program?
What about an e-mail solution and threaded sms messaging?
Sorry to be a pain, but I am trying to load my 8125 up with the "right" stuff so the transition won't kill me.
I felt A LITTLE lost today.
Well I am not to sure whether you would be able to use Snappermail with WM5 as I am very much a Windows user and I don't know much about any thing out of Windows and on the e-mail front I use Outlook so I am not to sure. Sorry.

Hello Everyone,
I seem to have run into a shortcoming of both WinMo 6.1 and 6.5.
Apparently (I have searched the forums for this quite extensively) there is no way to have a notification (sound or vibration) to notify the reception inform of an email that has been pushed from the exchange server directly to a subfolder of the inbox, based on a server side rule (i.e. having all the emails sent from my office go directly to my inbox subfolder that is labeled Work Emails).
I am sure plenty of people have exchange accounts with subfolders and would like to see this issue resolved. Moreover, I cannot understand how this feature is present on email clients for Symbian devices but is not supported in Microsoft's own Pocket Outlook (RoadSync for Symbian has this feature).
I am not a programmer, but it would appear bizarre that there is no way to associate a notification to an email, simply because it does not appear in the inbox but in a subfolder of the inbox. From a logical point of view, all that is required is to exted the notifications that apply to new emails in the inbox to ALL new emails both in inbox AND subfolders.
I am willing to pay 30Euros to whomever develops a hack/registry tweak/cab...whatever, that can:
1) make WinMo notify an email that has been pushed to a inbox subfolder;
2) integrate the solution in TF
So far the only solution that have been suggested are:
1) FlexMail 4, that is not compatible with TF or SPB shell
2) http://www.blackmonlabs.com/faq.html. However even this solution is not what I am looking for.
3) CheckMail 2.0 (http://www.soft32.com/download_234983.html) is an app that does exactly what I am looking for, I am now testing if it works with TF3d
Please help,
[I honestly cannot understand how this issue has not been addressed yet]
did you try second today or similar software that allows wmToday and touchflo to run at the same time?
it may work with http://www.blackmonlabs.com/faq.html.
Let me see if I understand this correctly.
I install second today, and for that today screen I install blackmonlab application; therefore, on my second today screen I would get subfolder email notifications.
However, if I understand correctly, I would still have no form of notification when in TF3D today screen. I would still have to switch to my second today screen and verify whether I have received new emails or not.
I don't know....this appears to be so strange. I cannot believe all the Microsoft Exchange users have not in some way addressed this.
Let's see if the addition of a small bounty attracts some good willed programmers.
I am sure there must be a number of people who could use this fix.

yeah dude give it a try before dismissing the idea. it might work well for you
also, whats the name of the app that adds today screen as a tab in touchflo. it might work better than second today or mtoday
I don't know.
In fairness, I am new to WinMO as I recently moved from a nokia communicator E90; I also have some Blackberry experience, since my GF has one.
Honestly, I just love WinMO so far. However, the whole messaging system is pretty weak compared to other platforms and I am rather unsatisfied.
I have not tried SPB mobile shell 3.0, as of yet.
I have mainly used TF Rhodium version and Titanium.
I really like TF, however, I would get rid of both the SMS and Email tabs and replace them with one unique tab that incorporates a fast smooth messaging client. For someone who receives 30/40 SMS per day and about 80 emails, the TF is just very inefficient.
If there was a way to integrate a POWERFUL messaging client in either TF or SPB I would definitely try it. By integrating I mean a Messaging client that:
1) notifies me about SMS, Email (and subfolder emails) vibrating/ringing;
2) Visually modifies my TF3DHome/TitaniumToday/SPB now/ screen showing an envelope and the number of unread messages;
3) provides a pop-up preview (not necessary);
4) one finger tap from Home/today/spb now/ straight to the new Message (no scrolling/clicking to the tab, then clicking on the envelope).
Perhaps there is something like this and I am unaware of it?
hi, does the check mail 2.0 supported TOUCH FLO3D? i went to the description link it says only displays on Today screen.
CheckMail 2.0 does not support touchflo or any other Graphic shell.
Ok someone just messaged me with a solution which appears to be rather interesting.
Using BBconnect and BIS service from phone carrier or alternatively BBconnect and BES (for those who work in a company that runs a BES server).
Apparently BB connect can be integrated in TF3d without issues.
Can someone confirm perhaps?
Did you ever find a good solution to this problem? I too am dumbfounded that this is not natively supported, even in WM 6.5 which I'm running on my Fuze (Energy Rom 8/1 build).
Come on people, there has to be a solution!!!
that feature has never been supported by pocket outlook, nor the PC version of Outlook. ALthough the PC version finally gave the user the ability to create reminders based upon new email into a folder or email specifics. Likewise, PC version of Outlook will not give reminders on flagged items that are not in the inbox and you used to have to use an Outlook plugin to get to do that.

I can definitely do this in the PC version of outlook with the built-in Desktop Alerts. It seems like it would be such a simple and useful piece of functionality to implement in WM. Anyone else heard of a good way to do this, especially in WM 6.5?
THe only solution I have found for this, that does not require a second today screen or closing down TF3D is a #rd party app called watch flag.
Here is the home page http://www.watchflag.com/
I used it with WM6.1, it did the job, I found the interface to be a bit clunky, and did not woirk entirely the way I wanted.
That is probably my fault becaue I could not get it to notify me on specific subfolders, I could only make it notify me on all subfolders.
In the programs defense it was over a year ago and has had revisions since then.
The other issues are the program is not free, but has a two week trial and while TF3D can be running , i think it just has regular on screen messages and does not integrate with TF3D message notifications.
Like i said I have not used it in a Year.
