Download this cab and install it in the /windows directory of your device. now change the keys through-start-settings.

i drug that over to my storage card and clicked on it and rec'd an error.
ok - i drug the file to the windows directory and rebooted. i still don't see any plac in settings to change this.
I got an 'unexpected end of' error with that RAR file.
Anyway try this file attached.
Extract SoftKeyAppletEx.cpl from the ZIP and place it into your Windows directory.
Make sure you can view system files otherwise the .cpl file will be hidden.
Soft reset is needed and then just go to Start > Settings > Soft Key
And it all works fine.
thanks alot athiqueahmed - it worked perfectly.
thanks, worked well...

Here's what happened...
There was an icon inside my games folder that didnt do anything. Clicking it just gave me an error (forgot the error already). I took the risk and deleted the icon. After a reset, my Games folder was showing up as an ordinary folder (no card icon below it).
Can anyone copy their Games folder and attach to this post??? Or maybe just give me the solution...
~ishtangli
maybe that's a glitch in the system files... why don't you just hard reset your phone? back up your contacts and calendar of course..
Attached is the file you have deleted. This file is the icon for the Games folder (it's actually a shortcut file). You can customize the icon of any folder by creating a file named "icon.lnk" with a content similar below:
1#ceshell.dll,-162
Using a 3rd party File Explorer (e.g. Resco), you will be able to see this file. Using the defaul File Explorer, you will only be able to see this file when you turn on "View All Files" option (tap and hold on any open area of the default File Explorer and this option will be shown on the context menu).
In my experience, this icon appears inside the Games folder when I go through Start -> Programs -> Games when the "View All Files" option is turned on. Try turning it off and this icon file disappears.
Have fun,
YajP
Marc,
It would take too long to restore all my applications and settings if i Hard Reset.
File didnt work. Placed it inside the Games folder and reset my device. Have you had experience restoring any of these icon files?
~ishtangli
Nope, didn't have such problem. I also deleted that icon.lnk in the Games folder before thinking that it was installed wrongfully by some of the 3rd party apps... to my surprise, the Games folder was reduced to an ordinary folder icon when I go to the Programs menu. So what I did was got that file from one of my colleagues, copied it to my device and tried to solve the issue of hiding that icon file. Below are the current screen shots from my pocket pc... hope it helps...
ishtangli, my ROM is still the stock one: 1.66 WWE... so am not sure if the functionality was changed in other ROM upgrades (1.72, WM2003SE) =)
that's a very possible suggestion! i think the functionality wouldnt change in other rom versions.. i'd say go with the RESCO solution
Maybe some kind soul could post their entire games folder...
~ishtangli
Here it is...
still didnt work. hmmm.... seems kinda simple but it just wont work. WM2003SE thing?!?! Whatever it is, im not hard resetting my device just to get some damn icon back. Thanks guys! If you find any solution, post it here aite...

Games Icon
Try this.
Download, unzip and copy the icon.lnk file within to the /Windows/Start Menu/Programs/Games folder.
It is a shortcut to target the shell *.dll file that contains the icon that is displayed for the games folder: shellres.dll,-8229
So that must be the difference, the link to the icon file...
from
1#ceshell.dll,-162 (ROM1.66)
to
shellres.dll,-8229 (WM2003SE)...
Yeah

Hi All,
I am meddling with my ext rom. I am setting it to auto install s/w upon hard reset. it works fine. I found out that when i hard reset the pda and phone volume is set to half. How do i make it to full ? Also, i would like to know
how do i move some files to some other folders. eg: ringtones, etc.
One option is to use the CAB Wizard and create a Small CAB File with your settings for Registry - Cab wizard allows you to put files into specific folders etc and all this you can do without writing ONE SINGLE LINE OF Script.
Another option is to do it via script :
In the config.txt you can add the lines :
CPY1:\Extended_ROM\CabInstall.exe
CPY2:\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\CabInstall.exe
Means the Cabinstall.exe will be copied from the extended_Rom to the Programs folder in Windows\Start Menu.
The Registry keys you can check out on the link :

If they are not there - PM me and I shall send them to you...

thanks! I downloaded the PHM Reg editor and followed the instructions under Microsoft Application Installer -> Changing the setting so that it asks you where to install a cab on the link above..
It worked.. my ipaq now ask me where to install the cab files!
brilliant... thanks again!
I made a little CAB file which contains a reg key to prevent CAB files from being deleted after you install them.
Just run this on your K-JAM and no more CAB files will be deleted.
(Although ironically of course it still deletes this CAB file since the change doesn't take place until after the install finishes and this file is deleted.)
Neat!
I store CAB files in zip files, when I want to install anything, just open it and run from zip. This way my CABs are not deleted either.
I think it's enough if you set the Read Only attribute on the CAB file.

my solution is CabInstaller program. simply copy it on your wizard, run it and check two options:
[x] Do not delete CAB file
[x] Associate CabInstl with CAB files
from now on, CabInstaller will popup after every CAB file installation attempt, then just click install and that's it!
I've got my cabs on a storage card, and within totalcommander you can
set the properties of the cabs to "read only",
this works like a good workaround for me, some cabs i want to be deleted,
some not..
I agree^^^. I set them to read only before I copy them to the device and they are fine. If you have something like total commander or resco explorer then you can set the Read Only attribute on the device.
In my Dopod, when I click on a TXT file in my File Explorer, it always opens in MS Pocket Word. Then I have to be careful to select the correct file save as text files.
I installed some alternative NotePad programs but there appears to be no way to change the file extension type assignments to start up the correct program instead?
I have googled quite a bit but came up empty!
Anybody solved this problem?
Thanks!
AFAIK, Advanced Config has such an option to change file associations.
I had Advanced Config 3.2 already but did not know it had file association.
Found it under More Settings!
Unfortunately, when I tried to re-assign the program, it bombed when I was navigating the tree view.
Eventually, had to copy the application to \Program Files\ and select it from there!
After that, it seems to accept the settings.
Unfortunately, after the soft reset, the extension is still pointed to same application as before!
Latest update!
Something very funny is going on.
Advanced Config shows that the file association has been changed.
TXT file is now:
\Program Files\PocketTextEditor.exe "%1"
However, when I click a txt file in File Explorer, it still opens with Pocket Word!
Did I do something wrong?
Thanks!
Hey Hi,
Well I have a little problem, I was just going through some stuff in my HD2 registry and accidently deleted the gsensor.dll file. Can u guyz please help me out on this how can I add the gsensor.dll file again, my auto rotation is disabled by it!!!
How did you manage to delete it by going through your registry?
Anyway: I haven't found this dll on my device!
Where do you think it should be?
Registry Entries
If you connect your HD2 to ActiveSync or WMDC you should be able to use a program called CeRegEditor to import a .reg file to the registry.
Create a file called temp.reg in notepad and add the following:
Code:
REGEDIT4
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Drivers\BuiltIn\GSensor]
"Dll"="Gsensor.dll"
"Prefix"="ECS"
"Order"=dword:c
"Index"=dword:1
"PollingInterval"=dword:c8
"ShakingThreshold"=dword:3
"EnableShaking"=dword:0
"IClass"="{A32942B7-920C-486b-B0E6-92A702A99B35}"
"CalibrateMethod"=dword:e7
Hey dude,,
Well I have created the file, I cant find anyway to go through to my Registry through Active Sync?
hey oh I got how to import it, but somethings wrong, I created a notepad file temp.reg as u said, after clicking the import it does not show under .reg files but comes up when I select all files!
Hey well i Got it finally, added the registry but the gsensor.dll file does not show up, i restarted it also, but the rotation is not working!
After the phone is connected in ActiveSync. In CeRegEditor select the "Connection" and then "Connect" from the menu. Then go "Edit" and select "Import" (make sure it set to all registry files) and browse to the temp.reg file, select it and click "Open". A warning will appear saying it seems to be a PC reg file just click "Yes".
Sorry still writing this one when you posted again, if the file isn't there have you tried extracting gsensor.dll from the ruu_signed.nbh and placing it in the windows folder. What rom are you using?
hmm,,,, well my ROM is 1.66.707.1 and Radio is 2.12.50, and also can you tell me how can i extract ruu_signed.nbh by nbhextractor ?.......i'm opening the ruu_signed.nbh using the nbhextractor which extracts a file 00-OS.nb !!
hey Well can anyone just upload their gsensor.dll file, so I can just add it!!
hard reset?!?
and sorry, can't copy the file to zip it from my phone. Getting errors.
i doubt he needs the file, gsensor.dll is located in rom
hes more likley screwed his registry
@zainirs
restore your registry from a backup (you do make backups dont you?) or do a hard reset and start from scratch
Man,,,,the Hard reset worked.........Damn need to install everything again!!!
