Hi, does anyone know how to speed up the switching between different input method? Every time when i tap on the small pyramid at the bottom, it takes at least 3 secs for the input method selection menu to appear. Any idea?
Thanks!

in windows mobile 5 it's OK for first time tap. if you tap second time you have same time delay?

I found a registry key that prevents the virtual keyboard from poping up:
\\\registry\HKCU\ControlPanel\Sip\AllowChange = 0
(i.e. set it to 0 to kill the keyboard) and reboot the machine.
However, this will not allow you to manually turn on the keyboard without setting that key back to 1 and rebooting. This works on the 8125/Wizard
If anyone knows of a way to prevent the auto pop up except when hitting the respective icon, that would be ideal.
i've the same problem!!!
I think it has probably been said here in the forums several times. But as soon as you hit a hardware key while in an edit field the softkeyboard wont popup until the next time tap the icon.
But in some cases some olde programs can bring it back up when you enter an edit field.
I hope that helps both of you.

This doesn't seem to work with the 8125.

Search the forums for the thread about an app called sipchange, which has been most successful for me.
Sometimes when I enter a new task or appointment and I want to save it, the ' Ok' icon on top of the screen has disappeared. Only option I have then is to cancel and try again....quite annoying, anyone else experiences this - or has a fix ? Thanks in advance...
The OK icon is sometimes dimmed (as if disabled) but it does still work if you press it.

I'm not so sure that's the case, but we'll see within one or two days !
Yes, it does sometimes dim / disappear when you've clicked away from it. Just tap on the area where it usually is and it'll reappear.

Well, forget it...just 5 mins ago it happened again. But no matter if I press softly or firmly, the HD doesn't respond so it's back to cancel and try again :=(
I'm just thinking: I recently disabled the WM 6.1 option to have the running program list in the right top of the screen. Maybe that is causing my problems.
Does anyone know how to reactivate this setting ?
On WM 6.5, I find it almost impossible to edit word documents. Highlighting certain sections for copying, cutting is next to impossible. By repeatedly tapping on the screen, you can highlight a word or paragraph, but forget about highlighting 2 words next to each other. Anybody else ran into this problem and found a fix?
Press and hold for about as long as it normally takes to trigger a popup menu. You won't see any indication that anything is happening, but after the proper delay you will be able to select instead of scrolling.

Great. Will try that out as well.
Now, how about the other way around? I have some 3rd party software where I would like finger scrolling to be enabled but default behavior is no scrolling. Could someone direct me to the appropriate registry?
hi all,
i have been using the phone for two weeks now, i would like to use the alphanumeric keypad for texting etc but i hate the fact that it shows up words. i turned off the suggestion of words and all of that, but it still does it. it is so annoying. i have a topaz and a hero, i use alphanumeric like a normal phone without any suggestions whatsoever, for the hd2 it just keeps popping. any tweaks or help?
thanks!

Try:
Settings>All Settings>Personal>Input
Press the 'Options' button and NOT the tab, set all the XT9 settings to off. Then press 'Done'
That should do it.

I just unboxed my Nexus 10, was entering my Google password and decided to alter the keyboard settings while typing it (to kill the sounds). When I got into the language menu for the keyboard settings I couldn't exit the menu - there was no OK or Save button, and I tried tapping everywhere on the screen but couldn't get the return button to display at the bottom. I had to reboot the tablet to use it again.
Is anyone familiar with this problem?

It must have locked up because I have never been stuck in the keyboard language settings.

It didn't "lock up" per se, as I could still select the language options on the page, as well as scrolling up and down the list of languages. The problem was that there was no option to close the page and go back

Make the changes and hit the back button. I think you'll find the changes have been saved.

The problem is I can't get the back button to appear. I've tried tapping on every square inch of the screen (particularly at the bottom) and none of the 3 usual buttons appear. I noticed the same problem when I took an Asus Memo Pad back to PC World for repair a few weeks ago - their guy did a factory reset and also got locked in the language selection screen - neither of us could work out how to get out of it because we couldn't get the Back button to appear

Weird - I've never had that before. Unfortunately I have rooted and unlocked my Nexus and am running a different ROM. I'll try with mine and see what I get
