Hi, is it possible to use the phone-speaker instead of the pda-speake (the one on the back side of the magican)?
I want to use voip or skype on my magican and it would be nice if i cud used it as a normal phone (without hearing the voice from the back-speaker)
Thanks
I don' think that's possible. Try using the provided headset instead.
search for skype fix. It does what u need. There are other apps too which provide the same solution. Info on xda itself.

Hi Folks,
i'm owner of an XDA Trion, since last month.
So far im very glad with this device, but i have a few questsion about modifikations.
1)
Is there an alternative Dial software? I don't really like this Built in Software for making phone calls. In my opinion it is very slow and unhandy.
2)
I installed the MS Voice Commander. So far i like this programm, but how do i get it work with the std. USB-Headset of the xda? If i hold the button, the device starts the standard application for voice commands, which is not very helpfull...
So far, thanks for any hints.
Greetings
LordK

Thanks for the Link.
Unfortunelty does the Tutorial for getting Voice Command working with the Headset does only Work with a bluetooth headset
I need a way to get it work with the usb Headset.
Any Hints?
Best Regards
LordK
did you try EZDial?
I've just made a new app to allow you to use the headset button to launch any app. I'm going to integrate it into a few other hacks and will try to release soon.

Great
Thanks a lot so far
preferably WM6.1
not even one rom?
the roms for polaris don't come with any voip software built in but u can get the info u need and the download links from here: http://pocketpccentral.net/software/voip.htm
I recommend u skype: http://www.skype.com/download/skype/windowsmobile/
Grrr. ALL ROM's have VOIP (Microsoft) integrated. Just donwload the XDA Developers VOIP Settings and Config and here you go I use it every day on my TC
i can always add the voip to the sys folder of my next polaris rom and we should then have the internet calling available.
That would be nice !!!
if someone succeeded installing and using voip through the integrated wm6 dialer, please tell us your rom, radio version, and the cab's/registry setting you've used.
oh, and if: 1. you can hear through the normal ear speaker (not the loudspeaker) 2. if both sides are hearing each other without the need to press "hold" twice at the beginning of each call
thanks.

Sorry I wasn't aware of that but can u post the links to the settings and configuration please? Also if you're a heavy user of the Msoft client, write about your experience with it, is it better than skype? I personally use skype on windows, linux and on my TC and I'm very happy with it
Here is the program to change settings for the microsoft VoIP client. I think it is much better than skype or frings but the sound is a bit too quiet. I have searched a long time but cudnt find anything that would improve this issue. If you use a headset you can slightly increase the volume by changing the registry key:
HKLM\Security\Phone\VoIP\HandsetModeMaxVolume
to 65535.
I used the WM6VoIP.cab file to add VoIP support to my ROM. Anyone knows if there is a newer cab file available for WM61?
can someone post wm6voip.cab, and specify:
1. the installed rom (original? cooked? exact ver)
2. if voip calls come out from the normal phone speaker or from the loud speaker?
3. if both sides can hear each other with out the need to press hold twice at the beginning of each call?
thanks.
I just build this cab that is a standalone installation for WM61:

I have made a program for my girlfriend wizard so she can talk with skype using the earpiece instead of the loudspeaker...
It might be useful for others too, use it at your own risk, I do not take responsibilities for any damage made by this program...
It also may work with other phones, it is a matter of trying... of course again, at your own risk.
It is very simple, just run the program before a skype call and then bring it up and press "ok" to close.
If someone knows tha if skype broadcast some sort of message while making a call, please send the information to me so I can make a auto-switching program ;-)
Do not let the program running because you can really mess things around, but nothing serious... just annoying.
standalone exe file, do not sell it!!! it is free!!
Thanks.
Check the new program, at:

Thanks man, I don't need it at the moment, but it is great idea.
this is a fix that a lot of ppl have been waiting for but unfortunately it doesn't work on my tytn 2. is there any way that you can make a universal switch or one for the tytn 2?
can someone use this fix to auto-switch when wm6 voip call is comming in?
This is brilliant, brilliant!!!!
I suggest you repost this as VOIP: Audio redirection to earpierce and hopefully the mods can make this a sticky. This is a problem that has baffled many for long.
I've tested with both Express Talk and WM6 VOIP. However WM6 VOIP has got an issue on my phone where the volume is low with lots of noise. However in both cases, the app redirected the audio to the earpiece. Express talk is crystal clear through the earpiece and is what I'll be using for VOIP calls.
Would you care to elaborate on what issues we can expect if we leave the application running for long?
one small problem is after running this .exe, i am unable to key lock my device. so as i speak over the earpiece of skype i have the tendancy to press buttons (eg. hangup) with my face.

you wont hear your phone ring at all if you leave the device running. all the sounds and notifications that come through the loudspeaker will all now come through the earpiece!
would vibrate still work?
To answer my own question, I tested it and it does! (Well I tested it on my Tilt and it worked)
My own problem now is finding a ROM that works with Skype and Troca2. The one I have now will not use the mic on the phone (whether troca2 is running or not). Either way I am making progress towards my Skype only wizard!
SKYPE and FRING on Sony Xperia X1
Have you managed to make this software automatic??
It may be a good idea if the software would work for FRING and SKYPE only without redirecting ALL the sounds.
Is it possible??
Best
Michael
I am having a issue with audio not coming out as mono on MP3 files will this work for that?
hello,
could you please make this run on WM2003 also ? i need this for my HTC magician.
thank you in advance...

Does it work on X1?
I think WM2003 is too old to run
Code ... maybe?
Hi MarceloFB,
This works great on my Xperia X1 (didn't try it with Skype, just my own VOIP app). ... Also have not tried it on my TytnII, don't even think I'm going to bother, since the TytnII hardware (as far as I know) won't support it.
I would, however, love to just put the API call into my own VOIP app instead of having the extra executable.
I have tried:
waveOutMessage( hWaveOut, /*MM_WOM_FORCESPEAKER*/WM_USER + 2, FALSE, 0 );
... as I thought that was the way to redirect the sound on devices where the hardware supports it, but that does not seem to work.
Would you maybe be willing to let me know what API calls you make in your app?
Regards
Hendrik
Hi ...
.... Nevermind ... got it working .... and on TytnII as well
Perfect
Works fine with Fring, Thanks, any idea why Skype 2.5 Beta crashes on Xperia when trying to make a call?
Works on Hermes
I've been testing express talk: http://www.nch.com.au/talk/index.html and your app reroutes the audio perfectly.
Where do I send beer? I would love a today plugin.

Is it possible to guide us how you changed your API to make it automatic ?
I don't know why nobody continued this thread. It is a big problem for all of WM users .
I have WM 6.1 and still the same problem . Damn Microsoft cannot fix this issue ?
Take a look at the first post, I have made a new program with automatic switch, and need people to test it and give some feedback, I intend to make corrections as bugs appears.
SKYPE or FRING on Earpiece Speaker?? How??
Im really happy with my new Xperia but I have bought mainly to use it with Skype, SkypeIN and Skype Out..
The problem is that newest Skype Mobile for Pocket Pc and also newest FRING for pocket PC work only through the loudspeaker or a headset.
That is really ridiculous and impossible to have a normal conversation over a loudspeaker which creates a huge echo with the inbuilt microphone.
Is there any easy to use application allowing us to redirect VOICE at Skype or Fring into Earpiece regular speaker??
I have found Switch which is causing a lot of hassle to be used with newest Skype.
Another versions of SKYPE and FRING have been released but there is still no support for internal earpiece speaker in xperia.
Do you know any other ways to normally use Skype over the gprs/3g on Sony Xperia X1??
Best
Michael
How did you not find the answer immediately by searching? If you type almost anything sensible into almost any appropriate search box you'll come across the solution, which is a program called Troca2 (commonly referred to on here as SkypeFix since someone made a zip file with that name).

Its starting to look a lot like christmas.
not, what im looking for..
Of course I have found it here but thats not what Im looking for AT45.
Its not a fix, its a solution to redirect all the sounds.
How do you suppose to know when someone is going to call you to turn this software on in advance.
How are you going to use your phone all day without the sounds and ringtones?
Its not a solution at all for serious skype, fring users. Im looking for something which changes skype / fring only and doesnt redirect all the sounds in to the ear piece.
It should be a dedicated fix or registry change for skype / fring calls ONLY with the rskype/fring ringtones working of a loudspeaker.

Use an earpiece will work perfectly
What is Fring, Nimbuzz and Skype support doing about it? Do they know? Maybe a few more people need to tell the programmers of thoose skype clients about this problem.
Works finally with FRING !!!

I have emailed both companies and got NO replies saying that it cant be done in the near future...
However FRING people has done it. That works fine with FRING now !!!!!!!!
There are still some minor issues about fring loosing connection and only available status can be used but at least FRING is better using skype protocole than skype itself.
Best

check out this workaround for switching earpieces.

Hello, I would like to ask if it is possible to TP2 with HTC and WM6.5 ROM 1.86.401 somehow break in voice dialing via BT in the ear (Nokia BH-105). I've been looking everywhere on the net and forums, but I really did not find anything while I think it's pretty useful thing that works for most MT to BT, so the WM would probably also not be a problem. ... maybe ...
Thanks much
if i understand what your asking, you want a program called Voice command. This will allow you to use your BT to dial contacts & any phone # plus many other things. here is a link to the cab file thanks to "dotcompt"
http://www.sendspace.com/file/8hdfbq
Yes, you understand me well. The program is good but I could not find any commands. When I say "help" so HTC says only some commands. Do you know where I can find others? Thanks
To enable voice commands for Media Player, you must enable a setting found in Settings->Personal->Voice Command (make sure there is an X next to 'Media').
