Radio Upgrade also improves WIFI connection?

Hello People,
I have a question,
I'm having big time problems losing my WIFI connection, after like 15 minutes.
It still says that i have a connection and that's correct, only no Internet connection. the only thing I have to do then is disable WIFI en enable, and then it's fine for 15 minutes (sometimes more, sometimes less).
I flashed original Roms and Cooked Roms, but the problem persists.
If I update the radio, will it also help to improve wifi? or is it for signal fot network improvement only?
Btw.: does somebody have the same problem as me with there Artemis?

It sounds like you have a hardware fault. An upgrade of the Radio will not improve WiFi reception. An upgrade of the Radio should improve the clarity of your calls and also the batery life.

Is there anything I can do? the strange thing is, it will happen always after 10-15 minutes. Sure this is a hardware problem? And also what I find strange is that nobody has this issue with a Artemis, (couldn't find anything). If it was a hardware problem, isn't it so that there must be more users with this problem?

it might be a hardware fault caused by something u did (dropped etc). You should be able to get it fixed for free by the company u bought it from, if its under a year old.

I have exactly same problem since upgrading to official o2 wm6 rom - connection to home router drops after about 10 minutes, but wifi light still flashes on orbit /cannot switch comm manager off without soft restting orbit. Tried hard reset to orbit /restoring default router settings, still same.

I have experienced that problem with my HP RX 3715 and Imate Jam also with FS Loox N560.
WiFi Connection drops after about 15 to 30 minutes.
When I changed my wireless router, the problem disappeared.
I use Belkin 802.11B/G

Using a router ?
I would have a go at updating the firmware on your router, it solved my wireless problems (laptop dropping)

I had that same anoying problem on linksys access point in office. In home im using edimax, its lose connection too but not that often. I have HTC Artemis. Can someone help me?
btw. 3 laptops use linksys ap in office w/o any problem. Also I dont have any problem with my edimax ap on few laptops. Its only on my HTC Artemis.

I have the same problem.
As you said updating ppc rom or updating the latest router software didn't solve the problem.
What i do is turn off the ppc then turn on again after 2-3 seconds the wifi is working again.
If there is a real solution please share with us....

WI-FI strength/signal on Atom Exec

hi guys, just firstly let me say this is the best PDA forum out there.
to my query, my WI-FI on my Atom works no problem but i noticed the signal may be weak on it?
I have a Nokia N80 and with the Atom Wi-Fi in the same spot the Nokia seems to pick up Wi-Fi signal and the Atom no. IM thinking maybe the Nokia seems to have a better/stronger/ or improved Wi-Fi receiver?
Does anyone know how to improve signal strength on the Wi-Fi on the Atom?

i'm experiencing the same problem too with my Atom exec..but before i can still use my wifi, now i can't..it hardly detect any signals..it always got disconnection because of the weak signals...i don't know why this happens, i can use my WIFI before, but today, i can't.. compared to my friends N92, he can detect the signal while i canot..i need help why did it happened..i can use the WLAN before and i don't have a problem with the power strength..but now, it's WIFI is almost useless.. i cant even have a decent connection.. i tried hard reset, but still, didn't help..what else can i do? does OS upgrade can help me??? by the way, im using the latest WM5 from O2..tnx guys..need help..

WIFI Problem

i have WIFI problem for my dopod 818pro, and try to solve that problem by searching tutorial through the web site..but nothing solution found
I tried Flashing using a few Good ROMS in this forum but the result also same.....
anybody can solve this problem...?

What is the problem exactly?

the problem is cannot detect nearest WIFI terminal ....
Wifi on/off ok...
i try use my friend iPOD touch, that iPOD detect Wifi with no problem...
any setting need to configure on the dopod?

Try going nearer to the WiFi, and in start->settings->Connections (tab)->WiFi, put the 'power' up to max (there is a slider).

I wonder if this is hardware rather than software. Try an official WM5 (AKU2.2) ROM from the ftp/wiki and see if you still get this problem.

i have this same problem when I install not original qtek ROM (WM6 or WM6.1).
Tray to scan your network using PeekPocket (on your PDA) and you see if problem are hardware or software. PeekPocket in wm6 & wm6.1 found my AP but default Windows Mobile not (in wireless settings). In WM5 all is tip top

Hi there,
I've a problem with my wifi pocket. It can detected with my wireless router and get the IP. But the problem is few minutes up and few minutes down. That's mean it's not stable. But if I'm using with my Nokia N95 it's working well. I'm using WM6.1 korand.
Can help me please?

Wifi Issues

Hi, I recently got my Topaz a couple of days ago, I have always had winmo devices from the start and am loving the Topaz, I instantly upgraded it to a 6.5 Rom from this site.
I am having issues with my Wifi not working properly, it connects but the internet traffic doesnt go anywhere, i have tried a tracert from the device and it doesn't get past my internet router.
Other devices on my wireless network are fine and my old winmo device worked fine.
GPRS connects fine and resolves pages and email etc.
Anyone have any ideas ? Its driving me crazy !

it's quite difficult to help you without knowing your ROM and radio versions,anyway I solved a similar problem by setting to "Maximum Performance" the slider in Wifi's Power Management tab. I suggest to try different radios, in my experience the latest two absolutely require this setting to work properly

WIFI is not working for me on a standard ROM 1.39.405.2 and I have set 'max performance'.

What are your symptomes? Do you at least have a "connected" icon but cannot surf the web or upload weather forecast? Did you try other internet accesses (other modems,routers..)? I know it's ridiculous that a stock device beahves like that..maybe you should consider to try an upgraded radio.

The TD2 tries to connect but continually fails. I have the same settings on my MDA Touch (HTC ELF) which has flawless WIFI performance. How do I upgrade the radio (which might improve my TD2 in other good ways)? I didn't think the radio would have any influence over the 802.11 network adaptor.

Ps. After finishing typing this I checked WIFI and managed to connect for a nearly a minute...

Try to change a rom (And radiorom too). I noticed that Tom Condom's ROM have some problems with Wi-Fi (On my device), Rx on it is 54mb, Tx is laggy 1mb.
Wi-fi on Shadowline's rom works pretty good - rx and tx both are 54mb.
P.S. My radio is 3.44.25.27

WIFI ISSUE with ARTE_LOVE_WM65_23414_beta1

Hi friends,i flashed my artemis with dewatara's ARTE_LOVE_WM65_23414_beta1 rom. But there is a big bug. On comm manager the wifi switch doesn't function....and no wifi connection is possible......any suggestion?

Hi, iv'e had this problem on many Roms, I found that Shady313_-_WifiInit.cab
does the job.

I've had the problem that my wifi network was visible in the network list, but the device isn't getting any further than "Connecting" and after a minute or do it'll says "Cannot connect to the network. Check your network and service provider settings an try again"
I've tried you .cab file but no luck...
Any more tips?
Btw i have a Dutch Artemis so the IS Wifi hardware (wifi antenna hardware visible)
