FTP Problems - 8525, TyTN, MDA Vario II, JasJam General

Is there a mirror ftp site for xda? I'm trying to download two radio roms, but can't connect to the FTP site. Time out.
If there is no mirror are there alternate sites for the 1.11 & 1.16 Radio ROMs.
I'm in Thailand right now and can not get on cell network at all. Just worked in China

Can anyone else get to the FTP Site?

Thanks
Don't know if someone fixed it or not, but I did notice the page had changed and all is well now.

Qtek 1010 ROM software upgrade Available Now

Dear friends
this is my first time to post in this forum which has lots of informative and cool stuff which i like so much.
first :-
i would like to thank all people who's running this forum, who spend lots of time and efforts.
second :-
I have got recently the latest ( RUU ) Radio Unit Upgrade 3.16.52 and ( RSU ) Radio Stack Upgrade version 3.23.01 which has lots of fixes.
i upgraded my Qtek 1010 and it works smoothly with no problems, it was piece of cake process, i have tested the GPRS services which is not lanuch yet officially in Saudi Arabia but maybe it might be available for the public later last year ( could be last quarter of this year ) i was one of the lucky persons to have a Test account as beta tester or friendly customer.
this upgrade has GPRS suspend mode which enables you while your device in power saving mode to keep the connection or end it.
also it comes with small utility which is called ( WM ) WModem, this utility will simulate your device as wireless modem and let your PC/Notebook be connected to network wirelessly, it has two connection type Serial and IrDA.
i'll try to find free host site and upload it there when i got free time.
if anybody interested to have it, Please send me login Access details for FTP server so i can upload it there.
the file size for ( RUU ) Radio Unit Upgrade version 3.16.52 is 13.3 MB and the ( RSU ) Radio Stack Upgrade version 3.23.01 is 1.7 MB
best regards and have a great weekend.

best regards.
Othman
Dear all
finally it's done and you can enjoy the latest upgrade and here's the instructions.
How to upgarde your Qtek 1010 ?
i have uploaded the Software ROM upgrade at the following site with the help of our friend Antonin Hruska LumpiStefan who provide me free space and thanks to Markh for mirrored the updates with some UK 02 specific instructions .
Download the upgarde files from the mirrored site since the prevous link was not working here
1. Backup your data via ActiveSync or onto a Storage Card. if you don't have ActiveSync you can dowload it here
2. Upgrade the CE build before upgrading the Radio build by running this file first RUU 3.16.52.exe
3. Attach your Qtek 1010 directly to the computer with either a USB cable or Serial cable
4. Ensure the ActiveSync connection is running and is connected to the device and make sure it's connected to the power.
5. After the hard reset the CE update is complete.
6. Reconfigure CE and restore your data.
7. Attach Your Qtek 1010 to the computer again and disconnect the power supply and make sure it's charged Minimum 70 % & it's highly recommended to set off the Security PIN or disable it through start/settings/personal/phone as advice by Mr. Waleed in another threat on this forum
8. Run this file RSU 3.23.01.exe
9. After the soft reset the radio update is complete.
if your device didn't start the upgrade for any reason do hard rest and follow the instructions carefully
good luck and enjoy your little toy
if you need to contact me for any reason this is my E-Mail address [email protected]
Regards.

Hmm....
This might sound like a dumb ass question, so please forgive me in advance if it does, will these particular updates that our compadre Mr Othman has provided us with work on my 02 XDA which i purchased in the UK but am using in the Middle east??????
rom version: 3.14.13 ENG
radio version: 4.08
Eagerly anticipating your responses
Cheers!
Othman great job man. I upgraded my QTEK and everything is working great. The GPRS always on is excellent so as the WM. really man you saved us all. Great job man 2 thumbs up. I will be posting the ROMs on my site too very very soon so i can help in spreading the message.
The upgrades are great, thanks again.
Really GOOD. Othman, thanks a lot, you are our rescuer.
Hi
Guys did any one tried the upgrade for t-mobile?
or did any one used the upgrade for 900/1900 XDA?
Thanks
The Qtek upgrade will only upgrade the Qtek (unless you twiddle the bits in the binary as described elsewhere on this forum).
BUT it cannot be used to upgrade a T-Mobile or AT&T device. The build is 900/1800 only and you will lose you 1900 ability, ie it won't work in the USA.
Where can i find the new English upgrade for t-mobile pocket pc?

Previous versions of O2 ROM

I had a look on the FTP site but couldn't find the 1.13.82 version of the O2 ROM anywhere, only a broken link on WIKI. I am thinking of upgrading to the latest version, but would like the option of going back to the 1.13.82 version if I don't like it. Could anyone who has the o2 UK 1.13.82 upgrade file post it on the FTP site please?
I have "Xda_Exec_Upgrade_v113188.exe", but I don't know how to post to our FTP here. Let me know and I'll gladly post.
I desperately need a link to the new QTek ROM if you can help...?
Thanks Deke - I think you managed to get the QTEK rom from another thread. How are you finding it?
All the instructions for posting a file to the FTP site are here:
http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=BA_FTP_Site
In a nutshell, log on to ftp.xda-developers.com with username xdaupload & password xda with your favourite FTP client and pop it in the Universal/ROMS folder.
I would be extremely grateful if you could upload your Xda_Exec_Upgrade_v113188.exe file to the server.
Alternatively PM me, and I'll give you my e-mail address. If you then e-mail it to me, I'll pop it on the FTP server.
I got the QTek ROM, but it wouldn't let me upgrade as it said the country was wrong. I went back to O2 113188 and installed just to WM5 part without the O2 bits. that'll do me for now until I can find a way to get the Qtek file to work.
I'll try to upload it for you now.
My browser is giving me real problems with FTP. Give me 1/2 an hour and I'll try it with Mrs Deke's laptop.
Much appreciated. By the way, the pw is xda in lowercase, not XDA as I posted above.
File uploading now, should be ready in about 10/15 minutes.
You're a star!

Network Provider Homepage

hello all,
I've updated my M700 with the 1.41 radio and mUn's Kernal upgrade but I lost my Orange Internet settings. so downloaded them from the HTC site but I havent got the Orangeworld webpage, and when I try to access Orangeworld.co.uk I get a wap page with no pictures ... so how do I get round this to access the full Orange webpage?
Reason is I get 2 months free OrangeTV access so I wanted to give it a whirl.
Before I flashed my phone I followed the rom dumping instructions and dumped our parts 1 to 3, would I need to extract something from there?
Thanks in advance
Solved
Please look at this thread, would appear to solve the Orangeworld problem:

Vodafone V1605 3.3.0 ROM Update anyone?

I'm new to this site, and have searched as much as I can but I can't for the life of me find what I'm after.
I have 6 Vodafone V1605's - 1 of them has the latest ROM update which has the Messaging and Security Feature Pack the others don't. Having looked in the downloads section there is only the 2.3.0 version. I've called Vodafone who have told me that it "SHOULD" be available for download this July (so not too long to wait) but can anyone point me in the direction of where to get it? or wil I just have to be patient...
Is it possible to extract the ROM update off my 3.3.0 device and reflash it onto the others?
Thanks in advance...
It used to be one Vodafones website but they removed it a couple of days ago. I still have a copy though and I can upload it to a webserver if someone sends me ftp details.
I am not 100% if this is the ROM you are speaking about but I bumped into this file on a blog:
See blog page: http://blogs.conchango.com/kenibarwick/archive/2007/06/21/Vodafone-release-the-V1605-_2800_HTC_2D00_Hermes_2F00_TyTn_2900_-update-_2E002E002E00_.aspx

Vodafone have a downlaod site for updates/firmware upgrades ? This just for Sweden ? Else anyone have the URL ? as vodafone.co.uk is pretty useless for device support.

Thanks DoubleVision - that seems to be the file I need!! Thanks to all of you for your replies. I'll upload it later today so that others can get it...
Cheers.
I can confirm that the url on that blog is the officail vodafone rom I have as well.
The officail vodafone websites for ROMs is hidden at http://s131209249.online.de/vodafone_software/index.htm
They dont link to it from their website, they only send it to you if you need a rom. They dont post all roms on that site either, I will post the FTP link when I get home (wednesday) so you can browse with an ftp client and see all their roms (original, updates etc).
Hello Freddie,
Can you still post the FTP link for Voda? I need either the launch ROM or update for the 1605 and I can't download it from rapidshare. For some reason rapidshare keeps telling me I'm already downloading something else from their site (I'm not) and I've been trying for days now.
I'd really appreciate it if you let me have voda's ftp address. Thanks.

NOOB help needed

Hi guys,
Just bought the phone. It's clean. I've only installed the hot fixes from HTC official website and that's it.
Here's what I have:
OS Version: 5.2.21869 (21869.5.0.82)
Manila Version: 2.5.19211619.0
ROM Version: 1.48.479.1 (71294) WWE
ROM Date: 11-18-09
Radio Version: 2.06.51.07
Protocol Version: 15.30.50.07U
I have a problem though. I can't seem to be able to get email clients (either outlook or others [gmail, yahoo]) to work with the mobile internet we get from Vodafone - i keep getting this error - Cannot Connect - Cannot Connect with current connection settings. To change your connection settings, tap Settings. However, the internet works, I can browse, facebook etc. Can you please let me know if there's a fix for this? It seems to work on WiFi connection!
I would also like to ask, if someone is patient enough, to let me know what applications/roms/radios should I install in order to benefit at max from the phone.
I don't mind if you could send me (on private) links as to where I could download free games and apps.
Many many thanks in advance and I'm sorry for the long post!
All the best,
DH

USE THE SEARCH FUNCTION...
Update your ROM to the latest official one if you are not going to use a custom one.
"Free games" will be price at £/$0 on Windows Markeplace or in OMarket not going to support warez.
you're really not helping. There are hundreds of pages and posts here. That's what HTC said about the ROM, that is the latest for my serial number although there's another one available, it wouldn't let me download it.
No one? Please!!!
Hi Digitalhater.
The latest official ROM for the HD2 is 1.66. This ROM contains all the fixes that have been released. As far as i know, this ROM is now available for all regions.
Download and install.
You can also go the cooked ROM route, there are some brilliant ROM's in the ROM development forum.
For good free games and apps, go to www-freewarepocketpc-net.
Sorry, can't post links yet.
As for your email problem, make sure that you have the correct POP and SMTP servers setup, or else your mail won't connect. You can get this from your IP.
So if you go here:
http://www.htc.com/uk/SupportDownload.aspx?p_id=297&cat=2&dl_id=856
and put in your serial number it won't let you download? You didn't click on the T-Mobile ROM update by mistake did you?

Are there any specific ones I should look at? Some that you'd recommend?
As well, could you help me with the synchronization error I get for the email?
Many thanks in advance.
Sounds like it's a vendor locked device, you'd need to get in touch with your phone provider and see if they're going to release a ROM. If not, you need to flash the phone with HSPL to install a new ROM
(Just realised I gave you the link to the UK site but checked on the Romanian one and the ROM you're on is the latest for your region)
The first thing I would do is make sure that all the connection information for your log in etc for you email is correct and that you are telling your email to use the internet connection to find email.
Eliminate the simple things first. The answer is not always to flash a new rom although that can help with other stuff later. Walk before you try to run.

Thanks a lot for the suggestion. However, how can I check what connection is the email using?
What I find suspicious is that the browsing works with these settings and if I connect to wireless they all work. THank you all in advance!
You're best off asking VF direct as they may have a block on certain mail servers in your region. In the UK I use my Googlemail account just fine over WiFi or contract Internet
worth noting here that many (not all) ISPs only allow sending of email when connected directly to their own network.
A good example is ntlworld email accounts in the UK. You can send and receive over pop and smtp when connected to the ntlworld connection at home, , and you can receive when connected to mobile data, BUT try and send via smtp.ntlworld.com when you are connected to mobile data and it fails.
It is to prevent 'relaying' which used to be a well used spam technique.
If its vodafone your on you can download the Rom from their site here http://devicehelp.vodafone.co.uk/firmwaredevice.php?ModelID=424&e=0
For WVGA games you can get some quite good free ones here http://wvga.pda4you.org/
Enjoy
Thanks a lot to you all. Still haven't managed to fix the email client on vodafone's mobile internet.
another question, is there a way you can have landscape mode on every application for HTC HD 2? or to have the home screen in landscape?
