Jog Dial Tone - 8525, TyTN, MDA Vario II, JasJam General

I think that I have seen, somewhere in the forum, a registry hack to disable the annoying tone of the jog dial when during a call one wants to increase or descrease the volume.
Could someone please point me to the this hack?

Never mind I found it in the wiki: http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=Hermes_Registry

Tweak Jog Dial Button

Hi everyone,
I once found a tweak to adjust the jog dial, so he doesn't scroll "screen by screen" but line per line ...
Can anyone help me?
Thx!
take a look at the Hermes Wiki, I found the tweaks there once. I don't have them anymore for you, but I know they are in there.

i760- Voice command caller ID announce

Ive been searching the forums, and I cant find a fix to make my phone announce callers over bluetooth headset( I use a plantronics 855, & LOVE IT) Ive tried some of the fixes Ive seen but none of them have worked... can anyone point me in the right direction? is there even a fix for this? Other notifications function properly, and the announcement will play over phone speakers(even if it is set to BT only)
Here's your fix...
Some versions of the Raphael stock ROM set the MS Voice Command bundled in the ROM to ring only rather than give you the caller ID announcement. I was having this same issue and I prefer to have a ring and then the caller ID announced so I know who's calling me.
Found a registry edit over at PPCGeeks that works like a charm for this, no reset required.
Here it is:
This was the original text:
------------------------------
With this fix - the ring tone will play for a second and then be cut off by the call announcement. The announcement will be at a lower volume. The announcement will repeat - the ring tone will not be played again.
NOTE THAT YOU SHOULD ATTEMPT THIS FIX ONLY IF YOU ARE COMFORTABLE IN UPDATING YOUR REGISTRY.
Change the following registry keys:
HKCU\ControlPanel\Sounds\TTSAnnounce\Category
change from VoiceCommand1 to Ring
HKCU\ControlPanel\Sounds\TTSAnnounce\Script
change from as5p to v0p (that's v-zero-p) - for vibrate & ring, or p (ring only)
The above fix seems to get the announcements reliably, and doesn't break the set vibrate/set ringer features in the TF3D interface.
Hopefully we can find a better solution - that will restore the full functionality of Voice Command incoming call announcements - and not need this hack.
Another option is to manually overwrite the ringtone file name:
HKCU\ControlPanel\Sounds\RingTone0\Sound
change to \Application Data\Volatile\TTSCallerID.wav
This fix replaces the ringtone with the call announcement - and at full volume.
BUT this solution has several problems, including breaking the set vibrate/set ringer feature in TF3D.

I don't believe there ARE regedits for individual alarm volumes. You will probably have better luck if you take the particular .WAV/.WMA files you like, and running them through a sound editor on a PC that permits you to adjust the volume. That's the way I do it.
I'd give you the names of some sound editors, but I am not at home right now. Try Googling for them. There are free ones that work, as well as some nifty ones you would need to pay for.
All the best,

kinda what i figured..... thanks

Registry vibration settings

Hi all,
I've tried to search for this information, but got overwhelmed with too much unrelated results, so I'll risk being called 'dumb' and ask.
Is there a registry key where I can get/set the sound settings of the phone? In particular, I am aware of the HKCU/ControlPanel/Volume key, but could not find anything about the vibration settings.

Check out Treo vibe, I think it's just what you guys are looking for.
Additional information
I'll try to be more clear.
I want to develop a rltoday/batteryStatus theme, and would like to replace the top bar. I would like to show the sound state of the phone, and already found the registry setting to read if the sound is on.
I need to also retrieve the vibration status: any registry key address to spare?

Do you mean the vibration setting for the ring tone?
The only one I know of is HKCU\ControlPanel\Sounds\RingTone0 it will have a string like av2pwr or something like that, the v standing for vibrate.
I am not sure what device you are looking for, but here is the registry for hermes vib button reg.
HKLM\Software\OEM\Button\PhoneVibrateButton,0x00010001,1

[Q] how to disable sound when dialing numbers / dialer sound

Is there a registry hack for this maybe ? Found only that there's an app to remove all sounds, nothing on these forums (maybe searched wrong categories)
I have omnia pro 4 gt-b7350 and previously had SE aspen, on both I think I can't find the option to turn off this annoying sound when you press keypad keys to dial a number
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ControlPanel\Volume]
"Key"=dword:00000000
"Screen"=dword:00000000
