The two phone application shortcuts: Recent Dialed List, and Speed Dial as mentioned here:
http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=Hermes_Buttons
no longer work on my 8525. I remember they worked a few days ago but now they don't seem to respond either by D pad or scroll wheel. I've tried softreset and power off and power on... nothing!
Figured it out... don't disable the phone skin using the fit4cat tweaker utility.

What i'd like to do is assign more than 1 binding to the outlook button.
Exactly the same as the "voice dial" one has as standard (press for voice dial, hold for voice memo)
What i want is (on the mail/outlook/text button) press to open outlook, hold to start new text message.
Is there a reg key to change to allow this dual use?
If not (and i'd rather not add more software to map buttons) what software will allow this? Multipress isn't really an option, as pressing the button again now will cycle through the different text settings (sms, mms, e-mail etc) and put you in whatever folder you were in last (inbox, outbox etc)
EDIT:
While i would still like to be able to do this, thanx to vijay555 who's phone tools 2 lets me start a blank sms from a today screen .lnk file
The only way to do it is using Vito Button mapper.
Button mapper supports macros as well.

Have you read the thread about putting VJSMS on the softkeys, to start an sms straight from that key..
I'll have another related release that you'll hopefully like, coming soon.

I'll search some more later and keep an eye on your site!
Vito Button Mapper works here, but after a soft reset I get a popup message saying a certificate is missing.
Also, after installation my backlight was turned off. Went to settings and restored it and all works fine now (also after a reset... only problem is the popup)
Vito Button Mapper screwed up my softkeys.
Only in the 'Today Screen' however thats were a couple of my most used buttons were.
Now they don't work and sometimes change?
I would urge you NOT TO USE if you want to use soft keys in Today screen.

Soft keys can be configurated in the app, that is why you lost them for now...
Reconfig them:
Start -> Settings -> Buttons
Configuration drop down -> Today
Top 2 entries: Left softkey & Right softkey
Well yours must be different to mine.
When I open buttons the only choices I have are for the 5 hardware buttons.
No other choices are available????????

When I had a Palm there was a great freeware app that allowed you t assign up to 4 programs to each hardware button.
If you pressed the button several times in rapid succession the corresponding icons would cycle on the screen and when you stopped pressing the last icon would launch.
You could thus have the Voice note button mapped to voicenotes, notes, pocket word and a drawing program.
Any idea if anything like this is avail on WM5 ?

Hi...
And MortButton that is freeware.....
I went from a Treo 700wx to HTC Mogul & am missing some niceties--any registry hacks?
Hey All;
After having Treos since the 600 up to the 700wx, I finally decided to make the jump to a "full" WM Pocket PC rather than wait for the next Treo and picked up an HTC Mogul instead. Aside from getting used to the roomier keyboard, I love the bigger screen, faster/wider web browser & wi-fi, there are a couple of "niceties" missing that helped cut down on screen taps, and I don't know if it's because it's Palm thing, or a Windows Mobile thing (that HTC decided to configure differently)... any help figuring out how to enable the following would be most appreciated, even if it means a 3rd party program or registry hacks:
The *big* one:
List of last 10 called dialed when you hit the "send" key:
On my 700wx, all I would have to do is tap the "send key" when the screen was active (or twice if the screen was off), and a list of the last 10 numbers I dialed would pop up. Since 80% of my calls are to a list of a about 10 numbers, this cut down on key presses since all I'd have to do is use the "up" or "down" button after hitting "send" and select one of the last 10 numbers. The Mogul only lists the last number you dialed, and then dials it if you hit "send". There is a "call history" button on the screen, but that was on the Treo as well--and you have to tap the screen to open it up. I have probably made 10 calls by accident in the last day since I had the Mogul because I am so used to having that menu pop up when I hit "send" twice.
The smaller ones:
The end button turning the screen on and off:
I always liked being able to turn the screen on and off by hitting the "send" and "end" button. I'd hit the "end" button 2 times at the end of a call and the phone would go off. On the Mogul I have to hit a button on the side to turn it on or off. Can this be changed in the registry to make the "end" button turn the phone on and off?
Battery meter with the clock:
Whats with the battery meter being a third party plugin--the "HTChomeplug". I've tried the registry hacks to get the battery meter up by the clock like it was on my Treo, but it just screws up the top menu on the Mogul. If I can't get the battery meter up there I'd like to at least get rid of the other 3 things on the HTChomeplug (doing some research it looks like that's a registry hack of some kind--they don't even provide a menu to customize it). I generally kept a very uncluttered "today" screen.
Those are the main 3... other than that I love the phone--and it gets MUCH better RF than my 700wx did (the driving force for me getting it in the first place). Any help guys?
Also if these are "Palm" written features for Windows, has anyone tried to get them out of a 700wx and load in a different phone?
Thanks

I have this weird problem on my HTC Mogul 6800 (Sprint). Everytime I slide out my keyboard, the dialer starts up. Any ideas?
Sequence to reproduce the issue:
1. Slide out the keyboard.
2. press any key - the dialer pops up
BTW, I am using Paul's dialer found here:

I think there is a registry edit to change a value to 2 instead of 1 and it should stop the dialer from coming up. Keep searching as I just saw it a couple of days ago.

I tried that fix. doesnt work for me.
Why would you open the keyboard and press a key from the Today screen? Unless you wanted to dial?

I have installed google search today plugin. thats why. With the plugin it becomes sporadic. Since my steps would be:
- open the keyboard
- take the control to the search box
- press keys, enter
- close the key board (the screen would rotate)
- the search box would initiate the badboob's script which will launch opera mini wiith jbed and update the search URL
In all this mix, sometimes the dialer pops up.
is there a Registry key(s) to view to check or make this button access the Phone or the functions of Dial? It stopped working on my last upgrade to 6.5, and I thought it was a problems with the new OS. I have now reverted back to 6.1 and it still doesn't work. I can't answer the phone with this hard button and I cannot bring up the dialer either. I have made the green phone button another button using HButton, and I made the green button access the Calculator using AEButton Plus. The calculator does not come up when the button is pushed, but I can make the phone come up, but not dial. This may be related to a problem when I do Phone Code Data ##3282#. The phone goes to EPST then quickly goes to the dialer so I can't do any troubleshooting. I posted this to ppcGeeks too. Help Please
