The ICQ mobile app requires the ISPs server names and port numbers.
What are these for Orange?
Thanks.
I've an Orange M3100 but I didn't know that Orange ran their own servers? Do you even know if this is possible?
Can you not use ICQ's own servers? I would have thought that was more practical...
There isn't an 'orange' icq server. Try login.icq.com / 5190

Hi all,
I have an imode subs. which originaly is only to be used on reserved mobile phones from the operator. I could have the parameters to connect from all phones. It is working nice on my Xda2.
But the proxy they use only allows me surfing (port 80).
Therefore I would like to know how I can bypass the proxy (10.10.100.10:5080) with my own home server translating/forwarding the request from my XDA.
Example :
I connect GPRS with my XDA, I tell my Pocketoutlook to use pop server "myhomePC.com:80" and my home PC will transfer to "MyPOPsupplier:110"
Same could apply for other services...
Thanks For your help :?: :?: :?:
not possible, it is a http proxy so it restricts which connections you make to port 80. Out of my experience with imode i know going to the proxy for POP3 does not work. The only thing which is easy and I also use for my email is http://mail2web.com. There you can check POP3/IMAP (+SSL) to read your email on your xda 2
hope this helps
Ever tried this one ?
hi thanks for your reply. Have you ever tried this one ?
http://www.pocketgear.com/software_detail.asp?id=9539
Can some users of Imode on XDA try it and let us know the results ?
I can have it working... do not know why because it is only http requests.
Thanks
Stéphane
That is because it tunnels your mail over HTTP. This is only possible with MSN or hotmail accounts and not with other POP3/IMAP accounts.
all messengers in one yahoo msn icq aol google xmpp
for download:http://updates.am-im.net/AgileMessengerWMPPC.exe
here is another one (free):
http://www.movsoftware.com/products/imov/imov.htm
This one works also over GPRS connection. I remember faintly, that Agile free version works only over WLAN.
no agile works over GPRS too!
Then they must have changed their policy:

Pocket MSN (MSN Messanger and Hotmail) only works with a direct connection the internet.
Does anybody know how to tweak it such as way (via registry setting etc) so that it can connect via the proxied internet connection.
The regular desktop MSN Messanger has the option in the app setting to allow it to work via a HTTP proxy server.
The reason I'm asking for this is that, some of us here in this forum, use the cheap GPRS service here in the US that only connects us to the internet via a HTTP proxy. We have web browsing and pop3 working, but not the MSN messanger and hotmail.
Thanks in advance for anybody that will provide some clue.

You must use a SOCKS-capable proxy. That is, not just a simple HTTP proxy. Also see http://www.pocketpcmag.com/blogs/index.php?s=SOCKS+messenger&sentence=AND - in there, I've also elaborated on this problem.
I understand this. However, the data service we use (T-Mobile USA t-zones) does not support SOCKS. We only have HTTP proxy and WAP proxy support.
Using the same data service from my laptop (with my PPC as the wireless modem), I could run MSN Messanger from my laptop (by using the HTTP proxy).
The Pocket MSN however, does not work. I would believe there is some way to tweak it to recognize the HTTP proxy as well.
Certain carriers, including mine, restricts GPRS and forces us to use a HTTP proxy.
Windows Media Live does not support HTTP proxy, only socks proxy. I already have a SSH tunnel setup on my TyTN, but the tunnel gets disconnected every now and then, making staying connected to MSN unreliable.
I know when I used to have a Symbian60 device, there were some clients that worked through the HTTP proxy of my carrier, but either they were java based (dont want java!) or it doesnt exist for WM6.
I wonder if anyone has a MSN client that they use through the HTTP proxy of their carrier.
Thanks!
My carrier is Cricket (CDMA) and they also force us to use an http proxy.
Were you able to find an MSN Messenger (or AIM) client that will work through an http proxy?
Thanks
closest ive ever seen is www.ebuddy.com
hi,everyone .this bother me for a long time I ask many times to get some help but no one can tell me how to resolve this.
I am in USA and use as T-MOBILE I have T-ZONE service I can use my phone online watch news you tube etc.but just msn can't online.anyone know how to fix that problem? please help on this one.thank you
no one know??! anyone live in usa have same problem??
dont know about USA. But for Vodafone NL you need to add a proxy server to your connection settings in order to get MSN to work. Maybe something like that is also needed for your provider
Some phone operators have blocked a lot of ports in order to limit capabilities of the lines. Perhaps only http port is open so MSN can't connect as it uses a specific port range to access its servers.
In France, SFR operator is acting like this, so I can't use MSN Messenger, except if I use its own specific software, which is not very attractive.
In my case MSN, Skype, don't work with proxy.
When I deleted proxy server everything works ok.
