first off i will say that NO i was not trying to OC my phone, was just wanting to check out the program and the features it offers... with that being said..
I installed the latest PHM to my phone (got it from handango), after it was done installing it i opened the program to see whats inside, shortly after opening it my 8525 froze up, so i reset it. It reboots and sticks on the White Cingular 3G splash screen. So i hard reset, same thing, so i reflash it, same thing. this program killed my phone... I am getting ready to downgrade it now to see if that helps.. but im afraid that curiosity killed the hermes....
i also tried the tricks in the wiki...
PHM may not have caused it, but its one hell of a coincidence... worked with POF turns out i have hella bad blocks on my 8525 and not in the normal locations as everyone else... time for a warranty exchange from cingular

XCPUScalar...btw...the feature i want from those OCs is actually underclocking. I hope to gain more battery life this way...

Please help!!
After two months of great work my TYTN suddenly hangs during boot and does not starts anymore.
It crashed while a GPRS connection was active and tried to reboot by itslef now hangs on the white HTC screen and does not move forward
I tried to remove the battery and boot again, but it does not work. Still hangs on the white HTC screen before the windowsmobile logo.
No particular apps installation in the previous weeks.
The only hints is that the memory was quite low and no microSD card is installed.
Thanks,
Aurelio
this happened to my first 8525/hermes it was some very excessive bad memory blocks on the phone itself, i had to send it under warranty

with mine and the bad memory blocks a hard reset would not fix it, i had to use mtty to figure out it had bad memory blocks, and im not referring to the common problem of the 1-3 bad blocks in the 900 section, i had multiple bad address's in the 500-600 range

Yep, got my fingers crossed it's not as bad as that this time. I got it once and was lucky it did hard reset. Ever since then I back-up regularly.

do I need to do anything to it?
I need a little help, I need a program that could block the number that called me. LG E900 Optimus 7
If you want a call blocker, your only choice is to switch OS. Due to current restrictions/limitations in WP7 it is not possible to block a call or number neither manually nor automatically.. :/
"Microsoft's world" is full of friends and you prompted to share everything with them...Why would you want to block someone? (sarcasm about Microsoft's narrow view of the future...they only see internet and friends. Everything must be done on the "cloud" and share it with someone...)
Samsung got program for blocking phone numbers.
Just hope someone will find way to install it on LG phones.
What is this program and where to be found
Well, I don't know much about blocking, but you could just assign is an empty ring tone.... I will still pop up, but at least it won't ring anymore.

It possible only works for samsung, but it means that call blocking IS possible on this platform, doesn't it? If yes, perhaps apps will be out sometime.
Has anyone yet worked out what we need to block to stop the Microsoft provided metro apps displaying ad's.
(Bonus points if the same thing works for Windows Phone 7 on wifi)
I want to do it by the DNS server static entries rather than hosts but all I need is to know what they use.
If noone has done it yet I will start having a go in a few days.
I doubt you can do anything in a metro app since they are sandboxed. The best you can do is edit the hosts file like in Android.

All the ads are through MS, so if anyone knows the IP to block, that would be excellent. We are in a new world with mobile data caps and paying to download ads is not acceptable to me, especially when many pay apps still have them.
may be a hit and miss but may use same server as xbox live advertising feeds?
rpt.rad.msn.com
rad.msn.com
block those and may block the adds
block via router or open dns
rpt.rad.msn.com
rad.msn.com
block those seems to work but leaves a placeholder of xbox logo

I found a very easy way to block ads in any Metro app, but you have to do it on a per-app basis. On some apps it leaves a blank placeholder and on some it removes it all together. PM me to learn how but PLEASE do not make it public.
I'm trying to block persistent notifications of specific apps but I can't find any pre-made cookie-cutter solution available to do this. I always use build.prop edits to block the adb notification, so I've been trying to find a way to use a modified version of that to block other notifications, as well. I know it may break some apps that need persistent notifications, but I'm hoping none of the ones I want to block would have this happen. If it does I can learn to deal with it, but hopefully it won't come to this. Does anyone know of a specific way to do this? If there's an app I've missed, that would really be ideal, but I'm not at all opposed to editing the build.prop to achieve my goal...I'm already doing this anyway every single time I flash to enter persist.adb.notify=0 for the debug notification to go away.
I ran a logcat to try and find out what the exact process is called for each app, but I haven't had any luck getting any blocked (except adb, of course)
Really, the main apps I want to block are the tethering ones since I use those the most. I'd also like to stop my sip app from showing, but I'm afraid this one may be one of the ones that would break it if I were to block the notification.
here's the ones I'm trying to block:
easytether
pda net
native tether
csip simple
I have 3x Fire HD 8 7th Gen, Fire OS 5.4.0.1 tablets that I'd like to block updates on.
I am aware that starting in Fire OS 5.4.0.1, they patched the ability to uninstall the OTA updater.
I also see that the newer Fire OS versions are having problems with the PlayStore, thus I'd like to stay on 5.4.0.1.
I know a lot of people use NoRoot Firewall to block the OTA update related apps.
My problem with NoRoot Firewall is that you can't just block the Amazon OTA related apps, and be done with it.
NoRoot Firewall requires you to manually unblock (allow) every other app that is then installed on the tablet.
This is fine for me, but not great when giving the the Fire HD away as a gift, or to children who don't understand the firewall.
Is there any alternative no-root firewall apps that I can use to block the Amazon OTA related apps with, that won't automatically block every other newly installed app pending approval?
I need an app that will only block the things I choose, and never block, or ask questions about any new apps installed in the future.
This is what I use its a ad blocker with firewall for the apps you select. https://www.seven.com/android-adblocker-download.php
i use 'NoRoot Data Firewall': https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.jianjia.firewall
although i block internet by default for new apps you can set it to allow.
