I've been using my XDA Exec with a Parrot CK3100 for a while now without any real issues.
However, recently one of them keeps losing the pairing and both use non-volatile ram. Nothing has changed on the Exec and certainly no new apps installed on it.
Anyone else comes across this?
I was thinking maybe its a good time to update the rom on the XDA - whats the latest and greatest rom available?

My XDA IIs keeps saying blutooth licence has expired! and I searched for devices and it found none when my mate found 20+ on his mobile!??!?!? If its gunna cost me surely its easy to uninstall??? or is this just a **** up somewhere?
Hi
This is a known issue. Later versions of the bluetooth stack for the blue angel have fixed this, but O2 are dragging their heels in releasing this for the XDA IIs. Typical....
Some people have reported success in installing the IMATE bluetooth update 3500 onto XDA IIs devices. I have not tried this. Check the Blue Angel forums for more info.

Theres a O2 release V3500 ovet at http://tekguru.co.uk/
This fixed the problem for me. Although it did screw up the screen display untill i chose a different today screen and then changed it back again so no big problem.
As I'm giving up from getting my Xda II up to the task of BT Syncing AND BT handsfree, I ordered an i-mate Jam from Expansys.
As my order is on backlog due to lack of stock (more than 3 weeks now) I'm having time to wonder about my "incoming" new toy.
So I have a few questions for the more "JAM" experience users:
:?:
1.- Is BT operational with HandsFree devices? I mean carkits and the like.
2.- Is the BT stack having problems to ActiveSync with Win XP SP2?
3.- Any rumours about the new 2005 version? When will I-mate ship it?
4.- Are the most recent units coming with the flaws fixed? I read about bad sound, blurry pictures, a patched radio protocol, etc.
5.- Is any application known by not running on the JAM?
Thanks for commenting, I'll post my findings when my unit arrives.
BTW does anyone need a perfectly working XDAII?
No help?
Ok, Should I admit there are not any problems around? Is anyone out there moved from XDA-II willing to help?
Thanks.
 :?:
Great Move.
I changed my XDAII for a Jam and I'm extremely happy
No sound issues also bluetooth headset Motorola 810 connects fine. Camera is not too good but I guess thats the only flaw.

Hi zedeff! Thanks for info!
Just wondering: Is anyone using a BT carkit? Since this is a common problem with XDA II, I'm a bit worried about.
 :?:
considering a switch
i'm quite happy with my xdaII except that i find it bulky.. i'm seriously thinking of getting the xdaII mini (aka magician). any comments? bad reviews? suggestions?
btw, i'm looking for a fair market where i can sell my xdaII here in manila in case i do decide to buy the mini. any ideas?
Me too!
I'm also considering moving from the XDA2. My XDA2 has been great although not without one or two issues (getting BT working with a GPS receiver - not for the newbies!). I was considering the XDA2s and XDA2i but have read about issues with both. Now the XDA2 mini looks fantastic as I often wish I had a smaller phone without sacrificing the features. Has anyone else taken the plunge?
Hi
i am thinking of getting a XDA II Mini on Orange (M500). My question is has anyone had any issues with installing or running TT5 navigator/traffic with the mini/m500?
Would you say the mini/m500 is more stable than the XDA IIi?
regards
Nya
I've installed it and use it daily, and the only problems with it are problems that occur on all PPC devices, there are no particular problems with the Magician. I find the Magician's memory is more than enough to run it.
Runs great on my M500, even with alot of POI's
Is anyone else experiencing stability problems running TT V5 on the new XDA Exec. I know WM2005 is not officially supported yet, but I've not been able to complete a journey without the Exec crashing/locking....
I'm not sure if its WM2005 thats causing the problem as I've not had any problems with the XDA IIi, or TomTom.
Other things that maybe the causing the problems, I've upgraded the firmware using the I-Mate ROM, and used the resource editor and modified the Navigator.exe to correct the VGA issues.
Other things I've noticed since using TT on the Exec, system notifications ie new emails, battery low and connecting to traffic, freeze TT whilst they complete, which indicates that its not multi tasking correctly.
a) did you previously use a wired GPS before getting the Exec?
b) are you using 5.0 or 5.1?
I know someone who had wired versions of 5 on the 2 and 2i without any problems...yet when transferring to the Exec and a BT GPS (like I've had for the 2i and Exec), they experience the odd crash and bombout. I think the freeze connecting to traffic etc is fixed in 5.1, but I haven't tried it on the Exec with 5.1 yet.

Hi everyone, I've been using this site for a while to help me through the occasional nightmare that is XDA Exec ownership... so thanks for your help so far.
I've just applied the new XDA Exec ROM today with AKU2 and I was under the impression there would be a Bluetooth phonebook sync profile now. Am I wrong?
I have a Sony Ericsson HCB-700 car kit with a phonebook button which is supposed to read the contacts list via a SIM Access profile of some sort.
Has anyone got this working? It sounds different to the Parrot solution where the contacts are pushed to the carkit, this appears to be direct-access by the carkit.
The only article I found here was this, but no solution yet.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=37787
Any ideas?
Now this is stupid...
Found this
http://www.theunwired.net/?itemid=2762
So Sim Access profile was available under AKU 1.1 for some phones, but the XDA Exec never had the build number greater than 14402.
Now with AKU2 we still don't have it? How crazy is that?
Am I missing something? Is is Microsoft or O2 that need a good kicking?
M$ have planned a WM5 SE (Second Edition). Perhaps it will be addressed in this update of WM5.
See here: http://forum.brighthand.com/showthread.php?t=220079
I have a parrot 3100 & it works for me every time it connects it syncs withthe exec.
