Very often I have to write an SMS with one hand, but it is impossible with Qtek 2020.
I would like to find a software where you can write an SMS with the standard mode (like on normal GSM) with standard numbers 1-9 with letters on them.
I use D9 to find the contact and I think it is very usefull.
When you find a contact and you tap the SMS button near the number it should be very appriciated to have a standard GSM input letter mode (like T9) instead of default SMS client of WM.
Do someone know if a software like this exists?
Thanks for the answer,
Urosh
GO to www.yorch.net and look under "software".
I' don't find any software I described before.
Please let me know which one do you think do what I said.
Thanks,
Urosh
I apologise, I thought it was on yorches site, here is the link for you, it is a superb piece of software and it is FREE. Anybody else wants a brilliant sms program make sure you get it too.

I just found a bug in this program when running on xda2, if you push "select" button when entering phone number it gives an error, but ig you spend a little time inserting all your often used numbers you can use the drop down becuase it remebers the last 20 numbers that you have used, its worth a little time to set it up becuase it saves a lot of time in the long run.
Actually it's not working at all with my mda ii It says: message sent successfully, but later on-message not delivered Do you have any idea what I could be doing wrong? Is there a special format in which I have to put the number of receipient?
i think, only way is spb fullscreen keyboard or typeango ..
It's working fine on my XDA-II with T-Mobile ROM 1.60. The only thing is that if I am trying to send to local mobile number I have to enter the number with '+', country code etc. while I could use 'short' number with ordinary mobile phone.

Ok, that seemed to do the trick. Tnx a lot, it's working now flawlessly. But, I still have another question -how do you input "+" directly from the SMSwriter. "+" is on the same key as the "0" and whatever I do I keep getting "0". Of coarse, I could call up the keyboard but for that would again need a stlyus
Its a serious shortcoming, its a pity somebody couldnt patch on the ability to select searchwhich would bring up the contacts list, any offers from you programmers please???
unfortunately, found no way around it, I used to enter '+' with soft keyboard using a pen. The only temporary solution which comes to my mind is the list of numbers used to send SMS already (there should be some 25 numbers kept).

For me is impossible to use this software only with my fingers.
It has too small dialogue boxes (to find the contact).
For me the best solution would be to have a D9 program that integrates a SMS client which has the same keypad which is at the start of the program (with big buttons) to write to message (when the contact has just been selected).
Bye,
Urosh
In my Contacts in WM 2003 I used to be able to define an access number before I call my contact e.g.:
08707940000,,01xxxxxxxxx.
Where the first number is access number and the second is the contact's number.
However now, the phone only dials the access number (the first number) and after a short pause I can hear it dialling 3 to 4 DTMFs but it is not actually dialling them because the provider is not picking it up the DTMFs.
I have to dial the numbers manually and than its OK.
Can anyone reproduce this? Please help!
Same issue here... I have a contact like this:
+3493532XXXX,1234#,0561617XXXXXXX
This dials +3493532XXXX (my home number) where I have an asterisk box, then I hear the message "Please enter your password followed by the pound key" and the DTMFs for the password and # key are sent correctly (in the number the passwd is 1234), then I hear the tone where I can dial any number, I dial 056 (prefix to use FreeWorldDialout on my asterisk) and 1617XXX (USA Boston number)... I hear all the numbers, but I see my asterisk hanging up before the whole number has been sent.
Very weird... I will do some more tests to see if I can find any solution...
Ok, finally I got the solution... do not put more than 4 digits without a comma (pause)... i saved my contact like this and now it enters the password and dials correctly:
+3493532XXXX,1234#,056,1617,XXX,XXXX
Hope it helps you too!
I did what you did, the problem seam to be that the DTMF tones are not sent at all aldough I can hear them.
I'm getting this too very odd. Getting rather bored of holding the phone up to my speakers so I can play the right tone and empty my voicemail box!
hi.. got my vario II on friday, and i have the same problem. i used to be able to dial an international number on my UNIVERSAL by calling the local access number and insert a pause before dialing the international number for example: 02071246666,006596454343. however, this does not work on vario 2 and i am very upset about it!!
Hi,
you have checked this:
HKLM\Drivers\BuiltIn\RIL: EnableDTMFSupport = 0
switch to
EnableDTMFSupport = 1
Hi,
Thanks for the help, but i tried that, but it was already set to "1".. i switched to "0", soft reset, switch back to "1", soft reset again, but still not working...
I am also having this problem, cannot empty voicemail at the moment.
I have the same problem on my Vario II. When I'm entering the number manually during the call I can hear the sound, but the other end does not respond to my input at all.
This is really annoying as I can't get into my voicemail or contact customer service
Anyone had a solution for it so far?
Are there more people with a TyTn/Vario with this problem? If so, do respond because it might be a bug or something...

On my Vario II if I go to the phone app dial 150 and when connected then press keypad I can then navigate the customer service menus by pressing the on screen number keypad if that is what you mean?
Yes, that is exactly what's not working for me. I can press the keys during the call, and I hear the tone, but somehow the other end does not get them.
Interesting topic I just saw on MoDaCo: http://www.modaco.com/Problem-with-Phone-Dialer-on-Hermes-t247377.html
It turns out that it is not just the DTMF, but also the d-pad up key not going to the call history, and the 3G icon having changed to U.
This all happened after a hard reset.
Can anyone else who did a hard reset confirm if they have any of these problems?
Check that
HKLM\SOFTWARE\HTC\3GVTEngine\AMRDTMFToneFile = "\windows\dtmf122.amr"
then try changing the value of
HKLM\SOFTWARE\HTC\3GVTEngine\UseAMRDTMFTone
from 1 to 0 or 0 to 1
No idea what it means, but it is set up in some Preconfig setups
Excellent, I solved my problems. What I did was re-install all the cab files from the extended ROM. This gave me back my T-Mobile dialer and also made the DTMF working again.

That worked for me to.
Mine worked fine untill I installed the DeepOcean dialler skin and then it stopped working - removed it and it came back (DeepOcean lacked smartdial).
Installed the Eten dialler and smartdial, and have lost the tones again, think this phone skin is great, but it won't properly uninstall (need the original T-mobile phone skin/graphics) so am currently stuffed!
Have done all the usual soft reboots etc.
I'm confident if I re-instated the deafault t-mobile dialler it would come back, however, I don't want to do a hard reboot and reinsatlll all the add-on apps and data.
Any ideas how to get the DTMF tones working - I can 'hear' them, they are clearly not being sent, If I put it on speaker phone, then in clear conditions the mike picks it up and it works!!
Any ideas?
DTMF Doesn't work - FIXED IT!
Fixed it!!
Editing the registry and setting the value to 0, then soft reboot and dtmf tones are working.
Setting it to 0 wasn't the obvious choice, and previously I hadn't soft rebooted.
Found the following from dhushy in:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=276700
Worked it out. For anyone with a similar problem, use the registry editor to locate the following key:
HKLM,"Drivers\BuiltIn\RIL","EnableDTMFSupport",0x0 0010001,1
Change the value from 1 to a 0 and Bob's yer Uncle (for non-British readers that means everything will be cushty - see Only Fools and Horses for a contextual translation)
Did this and I was able to manipulate my voicemail messages as normal.

Just got my new Orange M3100 (Tytn) and I'm having problems with trying to forward incoming calls to another number. I have to divert and cancel divert often during the the working day and could do with a short cut to the settings call forwarding page. I don't seem to be able to make one... Could anyone advise...
Also trying to do similar with Bluetooth settings as I swap my BTheadset between phones just as frequently. I have found a link on this site to a utility to do that but not had chance to try it yet...
Can I just make a shortcut to that as well ??
Apart from that it appears a excellent device, running Tomtom etc without any problems....
Thanks in advance Phil
All the ways I tried to create such a shortcut do not work, because it requires an USSD "call". I asked WM5NewMenu author to implement USSD handling, will see...
For now the best solution I've found is to assigh speed dial keys in the dialer to USSD sequencies to divert and cancel diverts. It's OK for a while because speed dial keys can be easily accessed with one hand only (green phone button, then arrow left or down).
EDIT: In case you don't know USSD sequences... You'd better consult your operator to be sure. For me:
Divert all calls: **21*number_to_divert_to#
Cancel divert of all calls: ##21#
There are also codes for conditional diverting, of course.
Hi Phil,
What Lurker0 has mentioned is a good idea. You can save those strings as a number in a contact and maybe assign a speed dial or voice tag to that contact for speed? I guess one contact to enable and another to disable. The commands Lurker0 mentions are standard over all networks.
I'm not sure if there are ways to send AT commands to the modem in the TyTN (M3100) but it is another possible way to do it if someone knows how, if not then it might be useful info to someone else.
The AT command you need to send is AT+CCFC=1,1,<number>,128,1,,, this is the number in local format (no +44) like 07968xxxxxx to enable and AT+CCFC=1,0 to disable.
Gavin.
Phonealarm may be a simpler solution as I think u can add a forward number within a profile so just switching profile from the Today screen (phonealarm skin) would do the trick...
www.pocketmax.net
I've not had any dealing with the ATM commands so to be honest I wouldn't know were to start. I've just tried to install Phone alarm in my Orange SVP
M3100 but after asking me if I need and extra language the software just locks up.. Soft restart then required....
I managed to find the directory that it was installed in, the setup prog is there but I can't find the executable file, I guess that it has not got that far !!!!
Any help please...Phil
I'd suggest to try USSD codes as the easiest and 100% working solution.
Tried the ussd numbers in the contacts list.... works very well both divert and cancel divert... Just need to setup the speed dial now, were is that manual !!
Thanks again.
Phil-w
Hi Phil,
Go into the phone skin (green button) > Menu > Speed Dial...
That's you...
Gav.
Speed Dial is also at "green phone button" then arrow left, or arrow down, or wheel down. So one hand operation is possible.
Many thanks to you both... Nice to find helpfull people on here... Phil

Phil,
I do the same and installed the O2Plus (and patch) software which tweaks the today screen and gives direct access to mutiple profiles for different forwarding options - works really slickly.
Check this forum for the .cab files
Hope that helps.

i tried putting the codes in a speed dial but Tytn unhelpfully said i had to enter the sequences in from the phone pad directly. all i did was put the **21*<no># in as a speed dial. did i miss something somewhere?
If you are rooted, start a shortcut to "Activities". Scroll down to "Phone", expand that, then scroll down to "Call forwarding". Select! Easy peasy.
So i have WM6 on my MDA and it worlds perfectly fine, my only problem is that if im on a call and i need to press number to go through a menu, it dosnt work. The number popup as if im pressing them, but i cant go through the menus, it dosnt work on any phone calls; not even my voicemail. I just want to be able to fix it so that when i press numbers during a call it actually sends the numbers.
Simple solution: go back to a shipped version!
The WM6 ROMs are all 'selfmade', so, you might experience some minor or major bugs ...

Are you installing the T-Mobile .cabs to your phone, like the network custimzations, mms, etc. if so, that may be your issue as it was mine before, so I had started manually inserting the internet server settings, and things like that, instead of installing the .cabs, and that solved my issue...
I posted details on another thread, I will find it and post link here for you.
***EDIT***
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=1147465#post1147465
I spent a couple hours sorting through blog posts, downloads, cabs, blah blah blah... with the goal of getting my forsaken Treo Pro (WM6) to use VOIP through my office's SIP/Asterisk setup.
To save you all some headaches, here's the distilled version of what I found to be the best combination of software and quick hints for install:
I started with this blog post, to give credit..
http://voipguides.blogspot.com/2008/05/voip-sip-client-for-windows-mobile-6.html
But I used different software... so I've included a zip with the package of all the stuff I installed to make the damn thing work.
1) Install all of these:
- voipdrivers.cab
- custelvoip.cab (works better than MajikVOIP.cab)
- sipconfig.cab (originally named SipConfigTool_2_0_1.CAB)
- audioroute.cab (from http://www.teksoftco.com/index.php?section=freeware)
I've also included setupvoip.cab .. which is a fancier SIP setup tool, and may work better than sipconfig... but I used sipconfig originally, so that's what I'm writing up here.
2) Restart your phone
3) Run sipconfig ... enter all of your sip configuration details, and also use the menu option to enable VOIP over 3G if you desire it.
4)Now go start -> settings -> personal -> Phone. Choose ther Internet Calling tab. Set the option for "whenever available".
5)On the main/Today screen you will see a phone icon with description VOIP ( you entered name of provider VOIP in (step 4). It'll show you the status of whether or not it has registered with SIP. A Hint, you might need to trick the phone into connecting to 3G first... e.g. by browsing the web... otherwise WM6 at least doesn't seem to auto-connect to 3G for SIP.
6) After connecting using 3G or wifi, You will see the status displayed as VOIP: Available.
7) You can now make calls as normal, or receive calls in.. and everything is routed through VOIP.
8) You'll notice that many WM phones will route the audio through the rear speaker (annoying) .. which is why you installed audio router from teksoft... it adds a little icon on your top system tray to let you change between earpiece and rear speaker for audio. There's a bunch of audio switchers out there. This is the best one by a mile. And it actually works.
Cheers,
Andrew Eross
Thanks for your effort. Similar tool is already posted as Schap - Setup voip Tool -
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=1364611
Thank you!!!
I've looked around for a guide as clear as yours. You've the best guide all around... Thank you a bunch...
Thanks for your great job. I new on Windows Mobile so I need a lot this kind of help.
I download and followed your installation procedure on a HTC 3G+, T3238 (chinese version of the HTC 3G, manufacturer HTY Taiwan)
Works well, Hope others also will be successfull
By the way, is there an also simple way to sending DTMF tones for remote control of my answering machine? When I try to send numeric keys after the call is connected it looks like I start a new connection with numbers actually for remote control of my answering machine.
Hi, I'm also in the club that has browsed hundreds of post looking for a setup of VOIP and also looking for a solution on good incoming sound level when using Voip on phone. Your files solved all my problems!
Phone: HTC HD2 Norwegian with Rom 1.66. Use the Norwegian company www.iplink.no for VOIP at home / office and (now) on my mobile phone.
Made my own ipdialplan.xml which can be found attached to this post.
Done some testing calling people through Voip: after approx 1 minute the connection falls down. I looks like I'm still connected to the other part (interface shows that a call is going on) but none of us can hear the other part. I then have to cancel the call in the phone interface. Make new call to same person, after approc minute the connection goes down again...
Is there some kind of registry setting that controls this "timeout"?
Hi, this tools does work also on windows mobile 6.5?
I know that on the HTC Fuze some of the wmvoip.cab installs breaks the GPS - anyone test this yet?
THanks!
does this work on hd2
I've done everything you said, but I can't find the option to show internet calling is available. I have Kumar 1.5 installed, and am about to try another ROM (maybe Laurentis, the SIP drivers are cooked in). What are you running?

Best Voip All in one solution. Try This
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=596682
I tried last night to no avail. I am guessing that using a WM6.5.x ROM stops me, because I can't access the right settings (start-settings-personal-home or phone) because my settings button takes me straight to the black screen of text version. I even tried to go to a 6.5 ROM (cooked with VOIP drivers in), and even then I couldn't get the VOIP phone icon to appear on the today screen. Every time I selected it from the Internet tab in the setting, it would just ignore my changes.
I would love to get this working with a nice cooked 6.5.x ROM, and am not giving up yet, but man is this frustrating. As a side note, I am learning lots about the workings of WM.

thanks for the reply. i have also installed i was able to receive incoming call but unable to make outgoing call. are you able to make outgoing call?
Okay, I feel like an idiot, but I figured out how to enable the internet calling tab on my HD2. I am still apparently learning lots about WM6.5. After I disabled Sense, I could add tabs to the today screen. I did everything right, but the voip tab just either says searching or not active. And it somehow disabled my data connection. Not sure anymore, almost through trying ROMs. Is everyone else running this on a stock ROM, or are there certain features that interfere with this?
VOIP almost working
I've implemented Internet Dialing and have SIP configured my my provider and I am able to receive calls. But, I notice that when I dial out a "9" is put in front of the number I'm dialing making it impossible to dial a number correctly. How can I change this?

You need to edit your ipdialplan.xml. It's in your windows directory. Basically it is set up by default to dial a 9 and in area code 425... If you look at it you should see where to edit it... There's also a utility knocking about here to set up a basic one for other countries...
Can't svae ipdialplan changes
I can open Total Commander find the file and make the changes to ipdialplan.xml by taking the "9" out of the 10 digit plan and the 7 digit plan, but I can't save the changes. I get "Error, could not create file" every time.
It's either open or write protected. Edit on the PC. Copy it over with a different extension. Rename the original, and then rename the new one to the right name.....
I have this very strange problem.
I have tried to install all this, but it works only partially.
Outgoing calls work and the receiving party can hear me. However, I don't hear them. Also, on incoming calls my phone doesn't respond at all.
Does anyone have any idea what is the problem?
I'm having a Topaz @ WM65.
