By the way, Amazon in Germany is selling the Trinity for $590 (no tax).

no problem in the checkout comment mention XDA-DEVELOPERS you will get free ground shipping USA only.
............Cool!
Is this a good reseller? US warranty?
I was waiting for the bugs to get worked out but I'm starting to twitch
I ordered mine last night through www.smart-mobile-gadgets.com.. He had my order packed up with the UPS tracking info before I even woke up in the morning. I say that's pretty good! I've known many people on the various boards who have purchased through SMG and have been very happy with the service.
Do y'all have it in white? if so then I'm interested.

Where? I suppose it is with the German ROM only??
I had a horrific experience with Eten when my Torq P120 died. It took 10 weeks to get a refurb! Frankly, it drove me back to Cingular and I currently have an 8525. The phone I really want is the Trinity though. How do you handle warranty / service with HTC?
@Matterhorn
From current stock, so far black version German ROM only:
www.pdamax.de/
www.mobile-joker.de
If you live outside EU, i.e. near the Matterhorn in Switzerland, you can reclaim German tax of 16% included in all prices. Some dealers might be able to source an English ROM version from their distributor. Good luck.
PS: Just saw your signature, with Swisscom it is clear where you live... But the price in at least the French part of Switzerland is not so bad either, around 550 euros incl. 7,6% (still?) tax...
http://www.infotec-service.com/shop...id=304&zenid=bc6be36be1fc2b6d5cb8158e3412d237
Yes, indeed Eten is a bad choice, their only repair center is in Taiwan...they have to get their act together, the phones are quite good now (i.e. X500 with GPS). HTC on their U.S. website says they only accept repairs sent in through the operators (i.e. Cingular), so you might wanna call them to check the service policy when bought from a respected CA. dealer...

Thanks a lot for the links, Infotec is reputable? The dollar is so low at the moment that CHF 849. = USD 713. So actually USD 649. with no tax and free shipping is not too bad. Of course in the US, you have to order from another state than the one that you live in order to buy tax free.
@Matterhorn
Wow, you are right, the dollar is 1.33 to the euro. So the Trinity would actually cost 573 dollars in Germany, w/o tax. With shipping, customs and Swiss MwSt./VAT it would still make sense to order from Germany, with Euro warranty. Infotec has a quite good name, and they report 100 Trinity in stock...
But up to you, I for my part, and as owner of a Tytn, will wait for a Trinity with official GPS release, if the "standalone" GPS is indeed picking up a live satellite signal. Otherwise I can wait for HTC´s new lineup for Q2 2007, coming here in March 2007, for CeBIT.
Would someone be interested in organizing a group buy? We could have someone in Germany ship the devices to the US, I'll flash the units with English ROM and ship them out to the buyers. It's a win win situation. I'm sure we could get a pretty good price for the units in Germany if we bought them wholesale.

At the moment no-one has successfully changed the Trinity ROM, so your plan sounds a bit adventurous, particularly for those who should trust you sending the stuff back

Adventurous indeed. Well, I was blinded by the beauty of the machine and wasn't thinking clearly. Can you blame me? Is there any way we could get Trinities (plural?) with ROM in English from Germany? Would someone like to look into it, locally? I'm just thinking outloud here.

You might indeed get a good deal, since for export the 16% German VAT is deducted, but of course you pay shipping and Singapore VAT. During my Asian travels for the last two years I noticed that prices in Germany are much better than in Asia, wonder why - these boys toys are made in your backyard
Unfortunately this respected online shop of a large trader only sells within Europe, at 501,12 Euro incl. VAT: http://www.handyattacke.de/cgi/websale6.cgi?shopid=etronixx&subshopid=attacke
But even Amazon Germany is not far behind, at 519 euros: http://www.amazon.de/exec/obidos/ASIN/B000JWEAL4/idealode-21/ref=nosim
My local shop promised to match their price, in case I buy this baby...
I made a cancellaton, why? simple, I ordered last saturday and today I don't have the device. I made a call phone to Portugal and they told me the device is in Portugal yet. So, tomorrow I'll make a trip and at the end of the week end and international trip for long term.
Bye, bye Trinity.!!!! I'm so furious.
>lucas0511 - hehehe don't understand german at all so will give the website a pass thanks anyway!!! but although the price is quite a figure in my country i can have a gurantee in which i would not have if i import from overseas, if the set gets damaged along the way to Singapore it will be a major headache for me already hahaha so will stick to buying the set in SIngapore instead!!!
Where to buy the Trinity in the UK
Hi Guys just to let you know that I popped into Inkino in Central London and they have the whole HTC range. Picked up the Trinity. Good thing is that I was able to try it out and get a feel for the unit. Something that the web experience lacks! What also amazed me was that the also keep the Dell x51v and the Fujitsu Siemens n560 and T830. Thought that I would would just mention this as I thought that these units were only available for purchase on the web. Inkino are at www.inkino.co.uk and their store address is 243 Tottenham Court Road, London, W1T 7QS. What also is useful is that they have a Russian speaker (useful for me!) Their other staff include fluent Chinese and Spanish speakers. I have become a fan of shopping in a shop again! Hope this is useful for anyone struggling to find the Trinity as I know some online sellers had run out of stock.
This shop has the p6500 for US $710 shipped to the USA. This is much lower than anyone else. Has anyone done business with them? They want Western Union which scares me...

I sent a western union mo for a single cellphone and they reply that in order for them to send me the phone I need to buy 5. in no moment that was mention, the only thing that was mention was that if I buy 5 phones the shipping cost would be free. I request my money back and they refuse to send it,i lost my money.
Sorry to hear of your problem, I hope you somehow resolve it. I see Expansys USA (aka MobilePlanet) has Spanish ROM P6500 for about US $825. This is about $100 lower than WWE ROM versions...
So, why not just flash the WWE ROM to it? Expansys are checking to see if the paper documentation in box is multilingual or not; I may buy device if so. I wonder if I need to HardSPL to do this and if so, so what?

Hey toyfreak and others -- if any of you ends up buying the Spanish version and flashing it with the WWE ROM, I'd be really interested to hear how it's done and if it works. I've quickly become very dependent on my P6500 and chafe at the thought of spending $1000 to replace it if it ever needs to be sent away for service or -- even worse! -- gets stolen. It would be nice to know that there are less expensive replacement options out there.
Thanks, Alan

Not true. I used to sell on eBay and paypal wasn't available to me so I used Western Union sometimes.
I agree that scammers always use it, but that doesn't mean that all using it are scammers.
I see now mobileplanet.com (expansys-usa.com) now has the p6500 for $734.99... Damn HTC for not making a US-spec Touch HD!
I just find out that x7510 will not not going to sell in my country (Malaysia).
This is indeed a very bad news as I really wanted to buy this unit.
Can anyone recommend any good & trusted online shop which sell this unit (preferably the one that offer the unit with good price) and willing to send to Malaysia & also accept Paypal or Google Checkout.
Now I am looking at expansys UK but it is good to get a few more alternative for comparision purpose.

there are many, 2 of which are trust worthy

DEVICEWIRE is in there too.

I bought from Inkino.
However, in the end I did not buy X7510 but instead choose to purchase used Dopod U1000 from local owner at very good price I think. Its only £275 but with almost new condition with remaining 4 month warranty from HTC. I could not see any scratch whatsoever The previous owner seem like not using it at all. It comes with 2GB memory card, VGA out cable & car holder as well. I am a very happy of to own this unit.
For Aussies who are looking to buy HTC Touch HD, you might like to know that a Melbourne based ebayer is now selling it bundled with TomTom6 and 8GB MicroSDHC card.
We also get local warranty for buying it here.
I just won one at about AUD1225, after being unsuccesful in the first attempt (the winning bid was AUD1250). All prices are inclusive of GST.
I thought it is not a bad deal. With the current exchange rate, it actually works out to be cheaper than importing from expansys Singapore assuming we can escape import duty. Depend on the exchage rate, it is quite close to importing to UK.
A couple of sellers are offering to let you buy it without bidding at about AUD 1350, also with TT6 (full license with latest Aussie Map) included.
I thought some of us here might be interested in this info.
Cheers.

I think that depends on your conversion rate that your credit card charges you.
The key reasons I bought it here was, at worst there is no significant difference in price (Many actually bidded successfully at got it at lower price than I did), you are assured GST is already included, hence no more import duty, local warranty, and inclusion of Tom Tom 6 (legit copy).
Are you sure you get better than that?
I bought one on the Buy it Now option for $1299. Mainly because he has TomTom with AU maps included. Many others are removing the 8Gb card, some even adding a 2Gb card as an offer having taken the 8Gb out!
I bet you were the bugger who outbid me for the 1225 one! ;-)

Well the phone you bought was not Australian stock. Either was mine but i know that. The guy you bought it from basically imported it and is now selling it for a premium. The way i purchased my handset is cutting that middle man out. And since it is not Australian stock it would be interesting to see how this "local warranty" will work out for you. My handset came to under $1000 so i had no gst or import tax. And i have tom tom 7 already so 6 doesn't really appeal to me

Okay, of course, all stocks came from China ultimately. HTC is a Taiwanese company which had manufacturing plants in China. So is Iphone for that matter. IPhone is manufacutred in China by Foxconn, which is another Taiwanese company with factory in China.
Everyone imports and sell for profit. You have paid a differet middleman by buying from Europe, that's all. Unless you buy directly from HTC China, you will have middleman.
I get your point regarding the so called local warranty, though. I hope HTC Australia honor it. If not, this guy might be just be paying for my freight to HTC Hong Kong for servicing I guess.
Have you received your credit card statement, or check it online to find out the conversion rate yet? Usually credit card company's rate is highly unfavourable, so am just curious what did they charge you with.
You're right about TT6. I'm not going to use it either.

Well all up once shipping was paid for i believe it was just under the $1100 mark. I highly doubt that htc will honour that warranty which is why i suggest you contact them asap. Even if my warranty isn't honoured in Austrlia i have a 2 year manufacturer warranty with a store i can send the handset back to. If i need to send it back of course i will pay the cost which is unfortunate. BUT, it is better than having no warranty and no place to send it back to.
i did what davecash did and got mine from Handtec
my credit card came up at AUD$1081
very happy with it so far, exactly what i need for my use. now just gotta suss out some tweaks :-D
Your credit card amount will be an uncertainty especially in this highly volatile time. At the time when I looked at it, I would be paying more than you guys if I had bought it from Handtec.
Another uncertainty was the import duty. Because the amount was bordering around 1000, it may be slightly more than 1000 or slightly less. I would have to live with the possibility of an import duty.
So I decided to bid because I would know for sure what I was going to pay, whereas getting from Handtec I did not know at what exchange rate I would be hit with, and if I would have to pay import duty.
Another thing to bear in mind is, just because you guys paid that amount is no guarentee that another person will be able to get that exchage rate. You know very well that AUssie currency is sliding downward these days.
So, I bidded in ebay.com.au.
I realised that I was impatient and bidded a little higher. This guy got it for much less at AUD1176
http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&item=250324322216
If you're able buying for business, there is also the benefit of the 10% GST input tax that you can offset, I think.
This seller advertised himself as operating in Melbourne, and I made a call to Melbourne, and there was a person there speaking to me. So...
I guess that shop might not be around when I need the warranty, but that would be just the same for Handtec I guess.
So, for all who are buying, weigh all the pros and cons and decide for yourself what you think is the best.
Cheers.
I was bidding on some of those phones too. But was outbid at $1200 at the last moment.
I wound up paying full price.
However, I don't mind as it has local warranty, and given my past experiences with smart phones, that is a must. I can also claim GST, and at today's exchange rate, it would be over the magic $1,000 mark if imported directly.

I get $2000 a year for mobile phone purchase (I own) ontop of my pay packet. The Sony Experia X1 was rolled over to a Director who wanted it after we finished testing it, his Audi Q7 wouldn't sync correctly using bluetooth with Touch Pro (the X1 syncs perfectly). Never had a problem with HTC's phone and my BMW.
My departments budget includes funding to buy, test and use (or not) mobile phones that we believe may be usable within our organisation.

Lucky you, mate. How does Mobicity do the warranty? Do they have to send it overseas or whill HTC Australia do it?
I bought my HD for $1050 total from handtec but that’s no longer possible with the current exchange rate and handtec's price increase.
Note that if you buy it from a "local" seller and need to send it back for warranty, it is highly likely that they will have to send it back overseas to get your phone fixed/replaced. It's not like they stock up on it and can just give you a replacement sent via express post nor can they send it to HTC Australia. That could result in an unfavorable turnaround time.
Regardless, if you want the phone go buy it because once you have it the price is all forgotten. Don't worry about how much you paid or what others got it for and just enjoy the phone.

Your email was from a Mary? She told me that her stock has already been all returned to her supplier because the 8GB MicroSDHC and user manual are missing and she has sourced for the unit from another supplier but the stock are yet to arrive. So she currently has no stock. The stock is shipped out of Hong Kong, and not Sydney. Seems that everyone in Australia is advertising that they have stock, then ship the item out of Hong Kong.
I cancelled my order from the last one I ordered 10 days after payment (supposed to arrive from Melbourne 1-2 days after payment). He has has the wrong stock being returned to his supplier story. But I got the full refund.

Considering to buy a HD2 in the next time.. Can somebody tell me where to get it cheap in Germany? The cheapest i found is just 570 incl. shipping.. But i have read of 515 or sth....
http://geizhals.at/deutschland/a470265.html
the cheapest I found so far is 535,90€ on http://www.handy-navi.de/Handy-und-Smartphone/HTC/HTC-Touch-HD-2-anthrazit-T-Mobile::804.html
but I never ordered from handy-navy.de. So I don't know if the seller is trustable.
Just ordered mine from danto.de.. They seem to be serious as they have good ratings and an exact publishing date. However it costs 570 €... But i want to be sure when it comes to an expensive phone...

But it has also T-Mobile branding!
You can order @ expansys.de.
From now just 7 days delivery time. The distributor already has it in stock.
It's not the cheapest, but you can pay in more ways than in other stores, including bank transfer(!).
Update: The date just switched from +7 days to 17.11.2009

T-Mobile aren't branding this phone are they? I heard roumers they weren't
i could offer everyone who is interested the htc hd2 for a price of 600,-€ inclusive shipping costs. i work in a small company in regensburg/ratisbon, germany. we get the phones from one of the biggest german distributors and we have the possibility to ship devices - on advance payment - directly from distributor to costumer. so as soon as the device is available at the distributor, it will be sent to the costumer. distributor telled me at the phone, that the device is expected end of november, no exact date, though.
if anyone is interested in this possibility, or for further questions, you can contact me directly via pm.

this schould not be seen as a commercial offer since i am just a student working "400€-job"-wise in this company, this is an offer for you, if you like to buy from a smaller company with support and service, but get the device quick an not that expensive.
2 devices would make you pay 1180,-€ (590,- each) if you are interested.
If you're looking for the cheapest in Germany, I maintain a vendor list http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=HTC_Leo/Vendors Its got pretty much all online licensed vendors listed and all comparative prices.
So far the Cheapest vendor shipping to Germany is based in Switzerland (Digitec.ch) and sells the phone for €504. They have the HD2 in English,German & Dutch keyboard layouts too
Keep an eye on the the vendor list though you might find it cheaper. Hope that helps
ps. the absolute cheapest is sold by BTC in Nederland for €469, not sure if they ship to Germany though.

But remember, you have to add customs fees on goods out of Switzerland.
Usually these are 19% VAT and fees for the customs procedure.
All in all, you're buying this one for about €620 and this is more expensive than buying in germany directly.
I'm fairly sure items from Switzerland to anywhere else in the EU are free from Customs. (even though Switzerland isn't completely part EU/EMU) I've had items sent to Ireland and Netherlands from Switzerland and not paid a cent in customs (maybe im lucky? ) But if not you definitely can get customs free HD2 from Netherlands. Algebeld ship to Germany (I think they might have a base there) and its only €524 from them. IF BTC-online ship it you could get it for €469
If you still want to buy from an exclusive German vendor though the cheapest there is TalkThisWay.de for €569 ....at least your not stuck in Norway they sell for almost €725 there.
