Voice Command on Mute - 8125, K-JAM, P4300, MDA Vario General

I use the feature in Voice Command to announce incomming callers so I know who is calling me without looking at my phone. I have set my ringers to none, so all I hear is the name of the person who is calling. However, for some reason, Voice Command seems to ignore the system volume, and still works when I have the phone set to mute.
Does anyone know of away to force Voice Command to adhere to the system volume so my phone does not go off in class or when i am at work. It doesn't happen all the time, but I know when pressing the voice command button even when the phone is mutted, it will unmute the phone and still sound the beep and confirm your commands, then put the phone back on mute. It might be a bug that exists because of this feature, but if there is anyway i can disable it, that would be great! I don't mind having to turn my volume up when using voice command to here the command confirmations, becase having the incomming callers not going off randomly is more important.
Thanks!!!

This is what I do
Go to settings, then click on Voice Command Settings. Highlight the word 'Phone', then press options. Uncheck the box that says 'announce incoming calls'. As far as I know, this is the only way to make the voice silent when a call is recieved.

Thanks....I was hoping there was a way to do this without having to change the settings everytime I have class, but I guess not. I think its just a bug anyway because it only happens sometimes. Guess I'll have to go back to good ol' ringtones....

How do you turn the ringer off, by turning the volume all the way down with the volume slider? By clicking the speaker and then clicking off?
I hold the comm button until it goes into vibrate mode then I use the volume slider to go down to off and VC has never announced the calls when the ringer is off.

is there any only one button to do it? just silence?
You want the phone to continue ringing but just silence it?
Because when you get a call in the bottom there is "answer" and "ignore". Then again if you press ignore the one calling is directed to voicemail or just hung up.
As far as I know thats the only way to immediately mute a phonecall, just press ignore.
And otherwise just use the volume slider when someone is calling. Or put the phone on vibrate when you need silence (which is also volume slider all the way down, or put it on vibrate via the com-manager).
thanks. you mean only way to silence it using volume slider when want to continue ringing. i don't want to ignore calling. the caller must be think i didn't hear the ringing...
hehe lol
Perhaps an extra program on the device would work. Inesoft Addressbook might support it.
Have it here somewhere, can check later today if it indeed has a mute button.
Just to say it more clearly: If you move the volume slider one time in any direction, the phone will mute imediately!
I think this was not understood correctly before - this is the one-key-solution you wanted, isnt it?
thanks... it works!!!

Is it normal that Voice Command 1.5 changes phone speaker mode by itself?

Hi,
I'm using VC 1.5 on my PPC WM5. At any time I press voice command button it will turn my phone speaker ON even though I set it to mute or vibrate. In case of vibrate mode, after the speaker icon is shown as ON (supposed to be vibrate) all reminders, incoming calls or notification will not vibrate my PPC at all (it did turn on my PPC from sleep and show notification but doesn't vibrate).
If I don't activate VC (don't press button), it's fine, speaker mode work reliably as normal. But if I accidentally bump the button, then it will cause this issue.
Has anyone experienced this before? What is the solution I could workaround? or it just does what it suppose to be?
Thanks,

Xperia Ring volume up and down.

Looks like I'm having another strange "quirk" of my Xperia.
For some reason my ringtone goesu p and down when it rings.
It starts loud for about half a second then goes quiet, then after a second or two goes loud again, then quiet and so on, so forth.
Anybody got any ideas why it does this? The damn thing is too quiet as it is let alone with the volume wobbling up and down all over the place.
I'm using an mp3 that I trimmed with mp3 trimmer, the mp3 volume is normal, i have tried it on PC and bluetoothed it to several other phones.
Of note, after a hard reset it worked normal for a little while, but then started doing this again.
A friend suggested it might be a feature of "something" i have installed so you can tell the difference between the ringer and your music that's playing.
I just find it annoying and would like to fix it.
Any suggestions, ideas welcome. Thanks.
P.S. It happens with other ringtones already on the device also.
If you have installed Microsoft Voice Commander, uninstall it.
I had the same problem, after uninstalling Microsoft Voice Commander its working fine.
I have the same problem, but I kind of like how it varies.
Correct
You are correct, I do have voice command installed. I wonder why the voice command would be made to change the ringer volume though, it's not like it's to prevent the system thinking the music is a voice command, because a key has to be pressed first, in which case the music would pause.
My only other idea is that (like nokias etc) the part where the volume decreases, the system (voice command software) is supposed to "read" the contact name out loud to you. (but it doesn't).
so if you uninstall microsoft voice command, does it mean the phone will not have the feature for VOICE DIALING?
cause i use microsoft voice command in order to make phone call while im plugged into my wired headset

Yup - go to Settings and MS Voice Command, select Phone, Options and untick "Announce incoming calls".
Thank You, i was terribly worried
I guess there is enough software around, that provides you the feature of voice dialing. I for instance use VITO Voice Dialer.

Is there anyway to silence incoming call or texts?

i have a custom notifications tone and its about 10 sec long is there a way to silence it without pulling out my phone. i use to use a blackberry and all i had to do was push the volume rocker and it would silence call and the text tone. if any one know an app or how to silence incoming calls and text please let me know
Get a shorter ring tone.
Shortest way I know is to hold the power button and select "silent mode." mytouch doesnt have a dedicated switch like iphone and other phones.
Edit: just noticed I miss read the question. To silence an incoming call you can hit a volume key and it will be silent without actually hanging up. I believe this works on many phones.

Disable silence mode

My question is, whenever I get a call my ringtone goes but when I click on the side buttons (volume up/down or power on/off) the ringtone is silenced. The call is not disconnected but I can't hear my ringtone anymore.
I've searched and I think this is what they call the SILENCE MODE, but I was wondering if I can disable this. Because I have my phone in my pocket and sometimes one of those buttons is pushed by accident which means I don't hear that someone is calling me.
Is it possible to disable this?
