Software like Wget or similar - 8125, K-JAM, P4300, MDA Vario General

I am searching for a software to download files directly to my QTEK 9100 without using Internet explorer.
The software should preferrably work similar to the unix software wget (that automatically downloads file directly from a specified URL to the device).
I want this e.g. to be able to download some .CAB-files. I experience problems sometimes that the content of the .CAB file instead is viewed directly in the browser instead of asked to be saved.
Appreciate your help!

Anybody have any recommendations for this?

I have been looking for that a long time, I wonder how can we start cmd.exe first, then wget

for cmd search for pocketcmd...i have it working on my wizard quite nicely...

Minimo
For the problem of CAB files being displayed in IE rather than downloaded using Minimo to try and download it will solve that problem. Happened to me a few minutes ago coincidently

Guys, if you don't want to install additional software, you can add your PPC as a device to RealPlayer and sync Real files to play on WM10.
When I try to install it Im getting a message...
Realoneplayerppc is not a valid pocket pc applicatiopn

'cause you're supposed to run that file on your desktop not the phone.
I installed Real player through AS 4.1 with no problems. Great for bbc radio broadcasts.
I got it installed and it wont play the file! Ah well. Do I need to convert it somehow?
On the BBC radio site where is has a link that says listen using stand alone real player, right click and copy that link to your wizard. Clicking on that file should open real player and begin to play your broadcast.
Will it not play videos though? I want it to play my south park vids
RealPlayer Link
Here is the link to download the CAB file so you can install Realplayer on your WM5 device without activesync.
http://www.savefile.com/files.php?fid=7160593
Copy the file to your Pocket PC and click on it to install.
CAB files within the exe file
If you start to use the realplayer executable file while connected through Activesync but do not complete the install process ie while the install screen is still open go to
START/RUN and type %TMP%
This will open the install directory. Look for a sub dir call ~rmsetup. Within that sub directory you will find the REALPLAYER.CAB file you need. Just copy into your temp directory on wizard and run as usual. It works for both the basic Realplayer and Realplayer with video beta downloadable from their site.
Hope I've explained it clearly enough.
There is also an explanation of how to make the exe file work with activesysnc on the Realplayer forum but I found the above solutions easier.

Ive got it installed but cant play my South Park rm files? Will it only play upto a certain version or something? Any patches available?

8125 omap clock problems

I have been looking for the omap clock program for the 8125 and have found a couple downloads but the files once downloaded don't work. When I try to open the file I get an error message saying the file is not a valid win32 application. Any advice on how to get around this problem or another place to download the program? I really need this program for my phone, but I can't seem to find one that will open on my computer. Thanks for any help.
version .02
This works on my 8125 Cingular. should work on urs
Offcourse you get an error on your computer, cause it's a file for your Wizard.
You don't have to open on your computer, copy it to your device and run it.
Search on the forum how to make the overclocking permanent and start automatically after a wake up or soft-reset.

Programs or Games will not install

Hi all,
Having a spot of trouble trying to install anything onto my MDA Vario, I generally search for WM5 software/games and everytime I try to install I get this message.
XXXXX is not a valid pocket PC application
Any clues?
Thanks
Sounds like your installing an exe that needs to be installed via pc using activesync. You can download activesync from the M$ website. The latest version is 4.2 as far as i know.
If you are downloading exe files, try opening them on the pc first. Most of the exe files are installation files that need to be executed from the computer. Some, very few, are actually compiled executables that only have to be copied to the PPC and run from there.
You will also come across CAB files. These files are my preference because you just copy them to the PPC and execute it there, and it installs the files right on the PPC.
Had a problem running activesync, it used to loop my pc when I attached the device. Since then I reinstalled XP Pro OS and reinstalled activesync (probably old version conflicting)
It now works a treat and loads up all my software!
Many thanks

Problem installing opera mini

I have read good things about the speed of this basic browser on this forum so decided to install it. I have tried downloading the files directly to my XDA mini s and via my pc but I cannot manage to install. The midlet manager opens, tries to connect to the internet but fails everytime.
Do I need something else to install the .jad and .jar files?

Nope, you only need the JAR file, not even the JAD.
Upon the first start, it'll ask you premission for accessing the Net. What did you answer?

Can anyone help me opening this pdf file in HD2

I was very happy to get HD2 to help me manage time and finish reading this book ,unluckily I couldn't
it says Unsupported security handler
the file is uploaded here http://www.4shared.com/file/155779165/2c990f8c/PMBOK_English_4th_Edition_PMI__1_.html
Have you found a solution? I am trying to read ebooks on my TP2 with the same error..
There's a known issue with the Adobe Reader application where it sometimes saves PDF files that can be accessed on PC, but not on some other devices. If this happens you need to open it on a PC again, and then save it as a different file. This normally solves the problem.
