Hello all, and sorry for my new Thread, but i tried the Search and did not get what i want. I guess the questions are allready answered, but i didn't find a real answer anywhere.
Well, i will get a XDA Neo soon, and heared about the slow processor. But there were also people talking about performance increase with a newer AKU. Well, what is an AKU and where would i get it ? Is it in the ROM and if i have the newest German Rom installed, do i also have the newest AKU ?
If not, where would i find the newest AKU and how do i install it ?
Will it affect the orifinal ROM ?
What is the newest ROM Version for a German XDA Neo ?

What updates are needed for a XDA Neo (Radio etc.) and will they elliminate the warranty ?
And something completely different, i read that you can make the extended rom visible and read/write, to use it as additional storage. Is there also a way to make the 2 storage drives one big drive ?
I had a XDA Mini before and used TomTom 6 for navigating. When i activated some POI's the 3D Performace was getting very slow. Now with the slower processor i think that the navigation even without POI's will be very slow, is somebody here who tested this ? I allready downloaded OMAPclock.exe an think about overclocking my device. Will this help ?

Depends on the provider, mostly it's not. You can find the latest (AKU3.2) on this forum.

AKU's are inside the ROM updates. You can get your latest ROM on QTek, Orange etc. Depending on your provider
It will erase the device. The stuff on your SD-Card will not be touched though.

ROM's already contain: ROM, Radio ROM and External ROM (containing software and settings from your provider mostly). It's not legal to put an Orange ROM on you Neo, I believe you will lose warranty if they find out.

The Ex.ROM cannot be used as normal Storage. Another disadvantage will be that the SD-Card will not be available to use as storage in your camera app. The reason for this is that the External ROM takes that Mount number. Ander the camera can only show one.

TT6 works just fine. There is enough info on the web about this.

This alone will not do. Since omap is back at default after your device wakes up again. I advise you to try SmartSkey. Read how to set Omap, and what does more for you
My advice concerning updating your device. READ!! and ask yourself why you want to update. Some people (like me) are just curious and take the risks!

Do you know what is this problem that HTC have? It certainly isn't hardware related cos we had A2DP working on the JAM.
all seems ok after flash, no A2DP but new comm manager and push email!

I tried it on mine. It goes in Bootloader mode and after a very short while it returns an error on the PC saying "This ROM is not intended for your PDA." So it won't work unless it's tampered with.
I think I'll wait for Dopod's version of this ROM.

I have successfully flashed my Dopod 818Pro with this new ROM. No errors at all.
Does the new ROM resolve the issue of poor audio performance that have been reported?

All we need is A2DP.
My camera quality is quite good with still shots; however, moving targets are a blur. Does anyone know any registry hacks to help or if this rom update addresses the "capture rate". I've tried edited the "capture rate" in the registry with no apparent changes. Sorry, this is slightly off topic, I guess but I'm curious if the rom update addresses this? Thanks
I am seeing daily that ROMs are flooding this page. Can anybody tell me what is the best ROM as of today so that we can try also? That should be stable and less battery consuming.
well the best is what the members are PRESENTLY using.
and it changes very fast cause we flash/try every new cooked rom, we don't stay on one rom for so long...
so just try it ALL out and find out for yourself.

Thanks but not everybody is geek and cannot afford to flush its pda daily to see. So please tell me which is the best one so far?
the released WM6.1 is still the BEST because it came from HTC.
HTC haven't release an official WM6.5 rom for the Opal.
PhamQuang roms are great imo
im currently lookin for a clean rom but rightnow im using PhamQuang´s WM6.5 ROM V24 u can find it here:
this rom only problems (i found so far) are the dot on the calculator doesnt work (its really annoying) and a few visual problems because not all software is made to fit whit the satrt button on bottom.....
the best one always will be the one u like the most

I used one or two but were very buggy. So I reverted back to 6.1 and it is working very good until now. My problem is that I have installed many books related to my profession. I cannot afford to install all my programs on daily basis.
So I am waiting for a good stable version of 6.5. I don't want any manilla 2D. I have installed spb pocket plus and deactivated manila 2d.

if you dont want to install all your apps (contacts, alarms, email settings,sms...) everytime you flash your phone use a backup.... i use spbbackup and it backup even when you change rom just make sure you save your backup file on the storage card and you r done.
the only problem is that app is not free but use the trial version or look for the serial (i cant provide, forum rules).....

I am using spb back up utility. But is it possible that I backup in 6.1 and extract in 6.5???? I think no because the system files differ??

yes it is... try it but alway try to use the same language (i did a backup from 6.1 esp rom to 6.5.1 wwe) to aviod problems.

I Have rom 1.43 from UK, and I saw that a new upgrade is available to ROM 1.48, should I upgrade or is the 1.61 rom soon to be released.
Please advise as I have so many apps and its will take hours to get everything back, so it worth upgrading to 1.48????

Nobody knows...
Nobody knows when the 1.6x rom will be released. Nobody knows if you find it worth the effort... Nobody knows if you have any issues with the current rom and whether it will be fixed in the new version.
Sorry if this answer comes across a bit harsh, but how can other people decide for you if it's worth the upgrade. I don't believe there are any major changes between 1.43 and 1.48... No one knows yet what will be fixed in a 1.6x update, and when it will be officially released.
There is a turkish/WWE version floating around which appearantly has the camera fix included but I haven't noticed anything major in that one either.
Then again, using Sashimi and pimbackup flashing a new rom isn't that much work afterall (the only custom stuff I have to do is setup email acount and some shortcuts...)
So perhaps it's an idea to look into Sashimi which is a real timesaver when you flash roms often.
you should get spb backup, makes ROM upgrading so much easier, I upgraded from 1.43 to 1.48 in minutes and without having to reinstall anything

Sashimi takes over the reinstalling part as well and didn't have very good experiences with SPB Backup in the past. Perhaps it's better now though

Not really, SPB Backup has a "new ROM" mode. I don't think it screwed anything in my upgrade.
Best thing to do is use windows myphone and then make sure your micro sd is out. Installing apps doesnt take that much time anyway (well it depends how many you have!) Always best to set it up again incase anything comes back across
I also have 1.43 but I am not upgrading so far, because everything works well for me. If there's need for an upgrade - do it. If not, don't In the new rom, there are no new features as far as I know.
I'm in the same boat but am waiting as the only real problem I have is the SMS lag (No i will not disable the sense UI as I like it!!), and not getting any voicemail notifications, and these are not directly addressed in the 1.48 update so i'll wait and hope....

People making all kind of magic "registry cleaners" also do think they are doing right, useful and harmless stuff.
Clean installation is the only way to have confidence that *everything* will work *as intended*.

it has a rom upgrade mode, works a treat every time
Personally I am not going to perform any ROM upgrades until SSPL is available.

Have you complain to HTC? I have email them already, I think we need more people bugging them
Are we all blind?? But 1.61 has been "released" That is one of the offical WWE roms coming from HTC.
Simple answer, If it isn't broken don't fix it
There aren't a lot of bug fixes in 1.48 or 1.61, some minor speed increases in the latter but I'd wait till 1.65 or whatever is due after 1.61. (1.61 doesn't include the SMS fix..the next patch will though)

I was misunderstood, I know that the Internet, the official site, is the latest rom for my mini, I was wondering if there is an official rom already loaded with all the updates, for example: Security Update for Peep, Now Legal, Update for HTC HD mini audio mute intermittent - Increased stability for SMS, not to make too many moves.

most up to date rom is for vodafone uk ver 1.41 but this doesnt have twitter fix
if you want one with fixes then you have to cook it yourself, its actually quite easy using oskitchen
or use a custom rom, maryone is good

hello, I tried to find an android Rom, to make dual boot with windows mobile 6.5, my difficulty is to find, a more recent and functional version possible (perhaps by not understand English very well), just do not even know which one to choose, grateful if I could help me.

Ok sense 2.1 with gb there is this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=954030 its stable,
For sense 3.5 there was one updated by boxmax just 2 days ago but I haven't tried it....as for kernels, the Rom u choose would probably have a good one but If u don't like it you can always change

Let me transfer the first app, the others says, it will do, open the transfer bar, but does not even begin, it seems that i dont have space, is that the transfer is made to the internal memory? (I have a lot of space in memory card...)

if you don't use any app2sd script , the app will be automatically saved on your internal memory.
