TomTom 6 Will not install on M3100 - 8525, TyTN, MDA Vario II, JasJam General

Help!!
I'm unable to install TomTom6 Navigator to my Orange M3100 device.
I have installed TomTom home onto my PC but every time I click on the "TomTom Application for Pocket PC" in the installation section I get the message "Not enough space. Free 11.0MB"
My M3100 has approx 50MB free phone memory and 2GB space free on the memory card, yet I am still unable to install the TomTom software on the device. The "Configuration Info" from the helpmenu shows my device as having no free space.
"IL #1: 'Internal Memory' 0 free/0 total MB Block Size 0 Media Name 'Storage' serial $0, Writable
IL #2: 'Storage Card' 0 free/0 total MB Block Size 0 Media Name 'Storage' serial $0, Writable"
Has anyone else had the same problem?
Thanks
Rob

When I installed TT5.21 on my Prophet I copied the contents of the TT SD card to my own larger card and popped it in my device. Then I installed it from there. Maybe you can do the same with TT6 - you'll need a card reader attached to your PC though.

Thanks for your reply.
Unfortunately I've got the DVD version of the software/maps. I did try copying the relevant Cab files to my memory card via ActiveSync but it still wouldn't install. I'm guessing it has to use the TomTom Home software to install it to my M3100.
How have other people installed TomTom 6 on the M3100? What were your experiences?

Hello Riki0081,
I've exactly the same numbers as yours but I'm getting a "Can't set max address" when I'm validating the 78126048 input.
Any suggestions?

Hello Yann,
I show two answer for clear problems.
1) Enter "max". It's not number.
2) Enter "78126048LBA". The "LBA" is very important.
And if you enter number with ICC.EXE, you have to reboot.
You can change this number only one time without reboot.
best regards,

Hello Riki,
While you were kindly replying to me, I kept trying hard... I didn't saw your reply until I reach my goal.
By the way, I tried "78126048LBA" without success. I didn't try to input "max" but I guess entering equivalent number was ok. But still failing and getting the above error message...
So, I tried to launch ICC.EXE with the "-b" option (BigDisk mode) and I've got the change effective!
Switching Off and On the Shift and booting installed Vista. Going to "Disk Management" tool, "Extend Volume" up to the max... I've now +3GB space available to Vista! (to readers : make sure you have a Disk image to be used as Recovery tool)
Thank you for the tip and your help!
Yann

What to do with all the files off the hidden Partition
Thanks. I did the deeper search and found the 3gig partition. I selected it and did a "P" to list files. I then copied all the files and directories to the USB stick. The biggie is XVISTA.WIM which is approx. 2gig in size. Now how would I execute or launch the file to do an install on to a fresh HDD. I know that with the fresh HD I will not be able to do this like before using FN+F3. But thats ok. But at least I have a copy of the Initial Install of Vista Business for the Shift as it comes from the OEM.

Hello CowboyJoe,
I'm using Acronis True Image Home. When you restore from backup to USB drive,
you can select one option from two.
1) FAT32
2) MBR and Track 0
I attach screen capture of Acronis.
I feel sorry that I'm using Japanese version ( not English ).
You can not select both options at same time.
I recommend, restore FAT32 at 1st, restore MBR and track 0at 2nd.

Thanks, I got it to work. I was able to reimage the HDD and get rid of the 3gig in hidden partition to provide more space.

Hello,
Can you help me to solve my problem with my shift (I can't restore my Vista with Fn+F3, because il doesn't find anything...).
So I tried (hard) to make visible my recovery partition (I did it from a usb key bootable).
What I did is following the previous steps, and when I hit "write", there was a problem (no more Vista at bootup). But I recover from it and now, this is what I found doing the same steps :
ICC -i
>same things than before, same characteristics
ICC -b
>78126048LBA
and it says "Capacity is changed. Reboot".
TestDisk
I did everything 'till :
> * HPFS-NTFS 0 1 1 4861 254 63 78107967
This is different from what I'm supposed to have, because there is one missing...
After a "Deeper search" : I have 5 lines instead of 2 in your example...
> HPFS-NTFS 0 1 1 4861 254 63 78107967
> HPFS-NTFS 0 32 33 4470 254 63 71824567 [Systeme]

> FAT32 LBA 4471 0 1 4863 30 62 6299432 [no name]
What is my problem, because, of course, I can't see the hidden partition...
Thank you.

You have wrong to digit ICC -b
Your recovery partition now are destroyed...
If you want put all file in hidden partition and recompile it with bartpe do this:
Run TESTDISK
[ Create ][ Append ][ No Log ] <- select No Log
Disk 80 - 40 GB / 37 GiB
[Proceed ][ Quit ] -< select Proceed
[Intel ] select here
[EFI GPT]
[Mac ]

P FAT32 LBA 4471 0 1 4863 254 63 6313545 [NO NAME]
[ Quit ] [Deeper Search] [ Write ] <- select Deeper Search
run totally deepersearch, and you have to find the fat32 [NO NAME] partition, and if you don't find the hpfs [HTCX9500] partition you have to create one..
Select [HTCX9500] primary bootable, and [NO NAME] primary
Write partition table and reboot.
Now you can see the HPA partition, but you can't use that in future with FN+F3!!
Sorry, I was typing the final "deepersearch" thing when you answered, it changes a little what you are saying, sorry...

Any way to access register device from bootloader?

Hi. This is a message to experts.
Loiking at bootloader in my broken ELFIN, well lets better say death, because even with GOLD CARD couldnt get alive, i found a commnad called wdata. This this the screen result:
==========================================================
Cmd>wdata
Usage:
wdata [StartAddr Len]
Write data to memory(if write to ROM, need erase first).
StartAddr : Start address of memory.
Len : How many bytes will be written.
Length must not more than 0x10000 bytes(buffer limitation).
Write to RAM: 4 bytes(CRC checksum limitation).
1 byte(in user mode).
Write to ROM: 4 bytes(CRC checksum limitation).
2(16-bit)/4(32-bit) bytes(in user mode).
Write to ROM(16-bit data bus): 32 bytes(writebuffer mode).
Write to ROM(32-bit data bus): 64 bytes(writebuffer mode).
Length must be 4 bytes boundary(CRC checksum) if not in user mode.
After command execute, then send out the data to terminal.
Data format: HTCS(4 bytes)+DATA+checksum(4 bytes, if not in user mode)+HTCE(4 bytes).
==========================================================
So the question is. Is there any way of using that command to access the F****** g_cKeyCardSecurityLevel = FF register and modify it?.
Anyone knows whats the memory position of that register?, if so, How can i change it?
Hopping anwsers.
Thanks

Is it possbale to unlock EXTROM space?

It seems that there is about 100 MB Missing... I just guess is EXTROM
It could very easy to test that - different EXTROM but same Flash.bin.
The total free ROM space unchanged, even your EXTROM just used a few MB
If the EXTROM could be used, then it could be great help for cooking
The files may relate to FLASH.Header and partition.mbn. could anyone have a good try?
But...
pdocread.exe -l

Thank you also
The difficult problem is that, I'm not much understanding NAND Flash...
But, it seems that, after flashing ROM with new partition.mbn, the size of ExtRom could be changed.
At this moment, I'm not sure that the Hex files should be also changed or not ...
Code:
EXTROM
---------------------------------------------------------
[COLOR="Red"] Page: 0xC350
Size: 0x7D0[/COLOR]
Address: 0x86A00000 - 0x96400000
Block: 0x0010D400 - 0x0012C800
[COLOR="Red"] Flash: 0xFFFFFFFF[/COLOR]
Form Page (seems like format pagepool), the maximum ExtROM could be 50MB, that's the limit for a cook to modify ExtROM.
Of cause, if we could modify ExtROM size, then we could include more module in to Image
Moreover, including ExtROM, the boot system could used up to 93.674MB
my extrom take 7mb...so if the extrom allocated space can be changed it would be reallocated to application space? Qazer found a way to change page pool size, maybe it can help you on this !
edit, what is NAND flash?

It could be much strange that some 'partitions' are overlapping!
Emmm, I forgot the order flashing these programs (.mbn), however, the ExtROM could be the last one to flash in the phone...
If somebody could tell me the order, then it could be much clear the process
Seems changed size could be OK, but I just wonder that what about ImageFS...
BTW, for term 'NAND flash', just wikipedia it
the best thing we can do is to reallocate this space in a virtual ram driver, and dont use the extrom space anymore. I noticed that the extrom files (cabs,tsk..) are in the windows folder of the device when you explore the windows folder.
So Is there a virtual ram driver or is there a way to do that, we don't need space, we need ram alternative.
anyway, don't know if it is possible to do such a thing on winmo devices...
( a kind of swap space....)

Click to collapse
I think we should hardmod to add more RAM instead of using NAND flash, to avoid damaging it faster
Emmm, at this time I could not be sooooooo brave to flash my only phone
I just only change 0x7D0 (D0 07 00 00) to 0x3E8 (E8 03 00 00)....
If I try to flash with new partition.mbn, the phone turn into FTM Mode
But I just put partition.mbn, extrom.bin and two hex files only to the flash tool...
It sounds like I should put all files in that...
Then, finally these two hex files ENPRG8650.hex and NPRG8650.hex should be also modified.

Issues after accidental usb disconnect

So I was transferring some files to the large internal sdcard, when my computer keeled over from a sudden and unanticipated hardware failure. I unplugged the phone immediately and waited for the Media scanning to finish, and waited, and waited. So I shut down the phone, which may in retrospect have been a mistake.
Now the internal sdcard is bizarrely named "_PNG []-1" and Media scanning is currently hung after reattempting the file transfer (begun at 9:58 and still going).
Any advice on steps I should take in attempting to remedy the situation is greatly appreciated.
Magicked from my Vibrant by tube traversing XDA elves.
Well, I used the disktype utility and discovered that the internal memory is fat32. So I ran
Code:
dosfsck -vV /dev/sdc
and got the following for my trouble
Code:
dosfsck 3.0.9 (31 Jan 2010)
dosfsck 3.0.9, 31 Jan 2010, FAT32, LFN
Checking we can access the last sector of the filesystem
Boot sector contents:
System ID "android "
Media byte 0xf0 (5.25" or 3.5" HD floppy)
512 bytes per logical sector
32768 bytes per cluster
32 reserved sectors
First FAT starts at byte 16384 (sector 32)
2 FATs, 32 bit entries
1675264 bytes per FAT (= 3272 sectors)
Root directory start at cluster 2 (arbitrary size)
Data area starts at byte 3366912 (sector 6576)
418713 data clusters (13720387584 bytes)
16 sectors/track, 4 heads
0 hidden sectors
26804208 sectors total
Starting check/repair pass.
Checking for unused clusters.
Checking free cluster summary.
Starting verification pass.
Checking for unused clusters.
/dev/sdc: 32571 files, 130173/418713 clusters
Of course in spite of this happy results, Media scanning continues to hang. (I gave it a half hour before I plugged it in again to run this test, so... I don't think it was gonna snap out of it).

I want Orginal (non touch) no customization Android tv OS
this file Distributor update customization Android9 https://drive.google.com/drive/u/0/folders/1TNq91duEnXrfUpzjH0DMr9Ln_XQwkUiH
i have a different tv name with the same motherboard and features.... i am very interested in having a stock firmware too (mine looks exactly like yours). I have flashed yours on my tv, so I am sure it works. The only difference is that now my tv says dijitsu instead of akai and the remote controller does not work....
your firmware is much better than mine by the way... it has apple play, play store and an app to control the device with the phone. it is a shame that the remote does not work, otherwise i would have kept it!

Hi
I have similar TV on different name. the customized Android OS have none of Google Apps and I even if I install google play by my self it didn't run.
Do you find any good firmware?
and how do you manage to upgrade above firmware?

Hey,
In the end I used the firmware the author attached here. To have my remote working again, I then flashed a minor update released by AKAI, which is my tv.
I haven't found a stock firmware yet, but I'll let you know if I do.

Hey sorry for the late reply!
I renamed that firmware with the name of my firmware. If you need to switch back, you need to do the opposite
Do have a TV set with Mediatek m7332 chip, Android 9.
You have an app to control TV via phone? Maybe that can be copied to other TVs too?
I am new to SmartTV but would be curious to learn.
i found that the remote control configuration is saved in a file in the system folder of tv "/vendor/tvconfig/config/ir_config.ini'.
Because tv isnt rooted yet, you need to access to this file via adb, allowing access to system files by adb and make copy of your oryginal config file, then replace it after flashing another firmware.
It worked on akai, nordmende, manta, and dijitsu firmwares on my Manta tv with TP.SK706S.PC822 board and with Mediatek m7332 chip.
● To enable ADB you have to go to hidden 'service menu' by pressing buttons (MENU) + (1) + (1) + (4) + (7).
If the service menu will appear, then you need to go to the ''debug'' option and then switch ''adb enable'' to 'on'.
[In other brands than Akai, Dijitsu, Manta, Nordmende, the service code may be different.]
You can try to enable ADB via AndroidHiddenSettings app, getting acces thru 'Developer Settings'.
Screenshots in: post-87570305
● Then you can explore your tv file system from your android phone by the Bugjaeger Mobile ADB app after connecting it thru wifi by ip of your tv.
Press button 'connect to' where you can 'search' for adb device or you can type tvs ip manually.
Now You can view system folders, copy files, install apps thru adb wifi, reboot system to recovery etc etc.
Files inside the system are still read only, so you cant delete/replace nothing yet, and some of the system folders are hidden at this time.
To make file system read and write enabled You have to use ADB command thru your PC/laptop.
● So you need to download some Minimal Adb Tool or ADBappControl for windows.
• Minimal ADB Tool (ADB.exe) run in 'windows command prompt' (cmd.exe) by typing:
adb connect 192.168.**.*** (-type your tvs ip, you can find tvs ip in main 'service menu')
adb root
adb remount
• ADBappControl with bulid-in ADB also allows you type those commands, has a pretty nice interface that allows you to install/uninstall disable apps.
It just don't have file manager, so 'bugjaeger' is still needed for the next step.
● Now file system is read and write enabled and you can backup your oryginal 'ir_config.ini', thru 'bugjaeger' app in section "files'.
The same way replace it after flashing another firmware.
At this time You can modify, replace/remove system apps as youtube, netflix, etc.
Read/write file system is enabled only till reboot. after reboot you need to redo pc ADB commands to get acces to r/w file system.
btw.
Section 'packages' in 'bugjaeger' app let you send and install apps downloaded/installed on your phone to your tv thru wifi. You can also run apps or disable/enable apps thru this section, instead of removing them from the system.
Section 'command' let you grant some special permision of some app if you need it.
Section 'fastboot' let you quick reboot your device, or reboot to recovery.
EDIT.: Added in attachment a remote config file working with my stock (manta) tv remote.
Anyway, better make Your own backup if You can.

The best way to to flash firmware to your TV (with TP.SK706S.PC822 board) is:
-Rename your firmware file, for example from 'allupgrade706_8GB_1P5GB_ref71.bin' to 'allupgrade706_8GB_1P5GB_sos.bin.
-copy firmware file to your pendrive, formatted to the 'FAT32' filesystem, (probably the best working is up to 8Gb capicity pendrive.)
Unplug your Tv from the power supply, wait till the standby LED turn off.
-Then plug your pendrive to Tvs usb slot.
Plug Your Tv to power supply and wait for firmware upgrade blue screen.
-Wait till 100%, Unplug your Tv from the power supply, unplug pendrive then connect to power supply again, and power it on by tv 'power button'.
In Case of any issues with Android Tv system like Boot Loop etc, i found file MstarUpgrade Android Recovery Software by @KazmiElecom, that boots up Tv to 'Recovery Mode', so you can do wipe data/factory reset or anything from recovery mode.
Same process as upgrade firmware:
just rename file, in this case "MstarUpgrade.bin" to "allupgrade706_8GB_1P5GB_sos.bin" and plug to tv's usb slot.
Connect Tv to power supply, and when you'll see the completed 100% "Upgrade firmware" on a blue screen,
- Reconnect Tv again and it will boot up in Recovery Mode for once.
It works probably with many others Mstar / Mediatek chip boards.

I tried doing this but i am stuck at "no command". tried randomly pushing buttons on the tv but nothing is happening. sad, my OS is Android 11 Wisdom Share. I think it is stuck at boot because I messed with the build.prop

Have you found out a way to change bootanimation?
I have found a firmware that claims it is AOSP, can anybody try? https://remont-aud.net/dump/lcd_pdp...06s_pc822_b19457/248-1-0-110135?l3BuY2?lb0zah

Whoa, android 11? Whats your tv model?
By the way, bootanimation is placed at /system/media/bootanimation.zip
You just need to download any bootanimation.zip from web and replace it, when system folders are read/write enabled.
I already changed it in mine
There is one bootanimation link for example:
atv11_bootanimation/Working and Tested/bootanimation.zip at master · khurramrizvi/atv11_bootanimation
A brand new boot animation coming straight from Google's Android TV 11 build. - atv11_bootanimation/Working and Tested/bootanimation.zip at master · khurramrizvi/atv11_bootanimation
github.com
Probably newest original google androidTV bootanimation

Mine, I think, is a rebranded Chinese TV. N-Vision S900-65S1NV. It is Android 11 yet still with a Wisdom Share UI. That's the thing, I have located the bootanimation folder in mine, it's in vendor/tvconfig folder, however, when I tried to replace it using bugjaeger, the system does not read the new boot animation.
Oh ok, in a vendor/tvconfing folder you can find a branded bootlogo etc, but i couldnt change it that way too.
To change it you have to use tvs 'service menu' and go to 'general settings' -> 'import/export' and then you can use 'logo export/logo import' to download original bootlogo and upload new one, but you need to plug some usb pendrive for it.
Then to change 'wisdomshare logo' you have to replace bootanimation.zip in system/media folder.
Btw, Do you have any links with firmware to your tv? Mine is still on android 9.0 cant find any upgrades.
do you know whats your tv motherboard name? Mine is 'tpsk706s.pc822'
