You can't
If you shut off, the WiFi will disconnect, you can shut off the back light though..

When I pull the charging cable out of the A500, it automatically turns the device on. I can't find any place to stop that nonsense from occurring. Any hints on how to stop this from happening?
It should only turn the screen on if the device is already on and only in sleep mode (it assumes you want to use it if it's sleeping, charging, and you pull the plug). If it's truly off, it should stay off.
When I try to scan for wifi networks with the WLAN, it says "Turning WLAN on" endlessly but it never does turn on!!
Please help!! :crying:
Thank you in advance for your prompt response(s).
EDIT: Fixed! I just flashed the Jelly Bean ROM instead!
Start out by power cycling your device. So power the phone off for 15-60 seconds, if your phone has a removable battery then briefly pulling out the phones battery is one of the best things to do as it assures the phone is completely powered off. If you cannot remove the battery from your phone then don’t worry, just power the phone off wait for 30 seconds to a minute and then power the phone back on.
When your cell phone fully powers on, try turning the Wi-Fi on to see if power cycling fixed it. If it’s working then enjoy your Wi-Fi if it’s still being stubborn and the Wi-Fi won’t switch on then try another idea from Lenovo A7-50 Tablet (A3500) Manual to fix it.
My device fails to remain switched on. After some while it switches off. Sometimes it seems something like turning on wifi toggles it but not sure. I have tried both soft and hard factory reset but still there was no use. It heats up a lot due to continuos loop of on/off. But when I switch it on, it is not completely switched on and somewhat stops in the middle of the process. It turns on only when I connect to a charger but within half an hour It heats up a lot. The battery is not drained when I switch it on. Also when once switched off it does not switch on on its own. So, i feel its not a hardware issue. Can you guide me regarding the problem with my device-LG Google Nexus 4.
My device when on stand by mode works fine but as soon as i start working on it it switches off. Like as soon as i turn my wifi on on handset it switches off. When I try to switch it on it is stuck in the middle of the process and i am unable to switch it on. Later when I connect it through a charger It does get turned on but heats up very quickly in half an hour, I have tried both soft and hard factory reset. When the phone switches on the battery level is same as that before it was switched off. I feel it is not just simply power key issue or power drain issue.
I just upgraded to 5.0.1 OK2 with Root.
When I turn on the Wifi Hotspot, it turns on, then almost immediately the slide button turns off, then a few second later it automatically turns itself on, and then immediately off - it might do this a few times before it finally stays turned on.
Once it stays on, it works fine. But whenever it had to try more then 2-3 times to turn on, when I finally do turn it off when I'm done using it, the wifi is messed up and doesn't work - I have to reboot the phone to get wifi working again.
Does anyone else have this problem?
