Every now and then when I send a sms from my Vario II it includes parts of my hotmail emails, when I look at the sent message there is nothing there only the sms I sent but friends are telling me and confirming my emails..!
The last time this happens it included my usser name and password from another forum.
There are no stored emails on my phone so it must be getting them from the Hotmail server some how, I do use MSN messenger on the handset I notice when it connects it downloads the hotmail emails but I delete them from the handset.
Has anyone else had this problem?
To me it sounds like some software problem and not a faulty handset but what do you guys think?
Thanks, Chris
I've had this problem once but it was on a Vario. Part of an email I'd sent got delivered to my girlfriend along with a text. Its likely that its a software problem. I dont know of any fixes
Strange you should mention that - one of my messages the other day went with a part of a Web page from eBay and I would speculate that there was some kind of buffer/cache overlap.
anyone else got any sugestions?

I'm wondering the same thing! Also, is the software Constantly logging on and looking for new email? If so will this drain the battery?

I still cant get it to work for more than one email account. Also I just got this Mogul on Friday after having to get my old one replaced. It was working great until I installed this app. not to say its causing the problem, but its the only new program I've never had installed on my phones before.
Is this download the current version? I ask because I downloaded it today (6 months after the original post) and when I try to register, I get an s7200 error (or maybe it's s7131, I can't remember). It won't register at all. Not sure why since my Mogul worked fine with Sprint Business Connection and that's essentially the same program the new one just adds some better business options (like OWA).
Just had a text from Orange to say that my Hero is out for delivery today.
Will post a short unboxing video to YouTube, and then a more in depth look later.
My channel is at: http://www.youtube.com/fatfurrycat
If anyone has any questions, I'll do my best to answer them once it's in my hands.
Bagpuss.
So is mine
Ya Buggers!!!
i got my tracking number this morning
not sure if i get it today or tomorrow
I was told I'm getting mine tomorrow and I haven't had a tracking number yet so I think you're in luck. Can't you check your tracking number online, should tell if it's out for delivery today?
Received mine about 11.30Hrs
For those that are expecting the Heros then you should get a text later(if not already) but normally in the evening to state that it has been dispatched. The text contains a tracing number which can be check via http://www.dpd.co.uk/index.htm. You should also get a text from a mobile number in the morning stating its out for delivery.
Any first impressions, how's the UI speed?
Have Orange customised the software at all?
Still waiting for mine, but should be here today.
Will post my initial impressions once it's in my hands.
@R3PUBL1K - What's taking you so long to give us your opinion
I'm jealous, I don't even have a release date in Sweden
Not had time to play until now
Well I must the phone is sweet. The finish is nice and looks more chocolate brown than graphite and has a soft touch to the back casing. The screen is bright and colourful and the OS seems to be a welcome edition. I can see no heavy Orange customisation apart from one of the startup logos and the orange world bookmarks.
The setup was intuitive, whereas the handset took you through using the keyboard and GMail, Exchange (no task sync) and POP3 mail setup as well as some socail networking sites like twitter and facebook.
It'll take a while getting use to but I'll post more later.
Does it have a Teflon coating on the outside? I had a play with the dummy one in the Orange store and it felt like it did?
Yes - This is why I mentioned the soft touch
I will see if the Egg I fry on it later sticks.
I thought it was only the white sim-free hero that had the teflon coating? Played with a dummy orange model a couple of weeks back and that definitely wasn't teflon coated.

Does the UI slow when updating the widgets as in the reviews? also could you post the firmware version if it is in the menus somewhere.
UI seems fine so far, but still customising it. The firmware is 1.5, software version 1.0.0.A6288
Appologies for bombarding you with questions but did it come with a MicroSD card in the box?
Mine just arrived, so will be making a video very shortly.

Hi there. Any Sync software in the box and does it look like it syncs with Outlook as well as Exchange? Does the Pop3 mail setup allow 'push'?
Thank you!

No software in the box at all - need to install HTC Sync to see first - will do later as I am off home now. POP3 will not push mail but you can poll (check at intervals).

I have this problem too - id much prefer a reminder a few days before and the actual day? Maybe its something to do with using outlook instead of google for calendar
If anyone has got around this please advise. It maybe worth looking in the Hero forum as they have the same calendar app on the hero.

Can't be because of Outlook, I entered all birthday's manually and it reminds me a month before. Tried reentering all of them, no luck.
I installed ebobirthday that syncronyze itself with the calendar, I have to test it well but seems fine.
Hey guys. Did an extensive search and Im 99.9% sure this hasnt been covered here before. The only solution was on cnet and it doesnt seem to be working.
Anyhow, is there a way to get push email for Hotmail on the HD2?
Windows Live Messenger application will give you push email.
Watch out for the Sync Contacts check box when you set it up, it will merge your email address contacts with your phone contacts and cause a right mess. you have been warned!

So I signed into WLM, left it running and sent an email, but I didnt recieve any notifications. I had to hit the send/recieve option to retrieve the email.
Im starting to regret getting this phone. So many issues, and its just the first day.
You have to go the sync schedule and choose for items to come as they arrive. you can set what you want it to do in peak and off peak times, and then define what you want as peak and off peak if i recall correctly
mate, its "not so many issues"...its just the first day. When i got my first WM and fisrt smart phone aswell, which was the touch HD, i wasnt too impressed until i started flashing roms, and learnt how the device works. give it time, its honestly far more interesting than most phones, WM phones are the first phones where i havent lost interest in a phone after owning it for a while (as happens with all devices! and im somewhat of a tech geek )

Nice one mate. Ill have a look into it.
Yeah, I guess my sentiments are a little premature. Just need to adjust after owning BB's for the last 8 years.
Thanks for the advice, and Ill let you know how I get on.
that is no 'true' push mail and setting it to as items arive will couse a lot of battery drain its just that the free hotmail accounts don't support that feature.
What is push email then? i always assumed its when items arrive as they come :\
I forward my hotmail along with all my accounts to my gmail. This way I get true push email, contacts and calendar.
again, what IS "true" push email! please someone enlighten me...
Hello.
I have researched this problem I came across and still can't find a solution to this.
Some ROMs like Omega and Energy do not sync text messages via ActiveSync even though the option is checked. There was another ROM (Kumars) on which syncing worked but still did not work properly (did not delete text from phone once deleted from outlook).
Has anyone got any ideas, CAB files or Registy Tweaks to fix it? It's not a very serious issue but I don't really make most of my new HD2 without that simple option
Thanks for any help
Is noone able to help me?
txt messages syncing over activesync? syncing to where? not the standard activesync to windows mobile device center, cos that doesnt do txt messages, (at least ive neer seen it)

Clearly your battery pins are bent, or you're not scrolling far enough up the list
I recommend a custom ROM, I think you'll find the "~[FoLgErS]~" series to be right up your alley

"You're holding it wrong"
No. I am talking about syncing text messages (sms) over ActiveSync to an Exchange Server 2010. Is it so funny? It used to work on stock rooms.
Near as I can tell, this feature is not ready for prime time.
In my case, I can create the SMS in Outlook. It gets synced onto my phone, and appears in SMS Sent Items... but it is not actually sent.
Then if on the phone I later create an SMS in the same conversation and send it, that message and the ones that were synced over ActiveSync all get sent out.
I'm running Indie's Omega ROM 2.7.2 but I recall similar issues with stock ROMs. I just don't think this works properly. It could be an issue with the HTC messaging client not behaving exactly like the Microsoft one in some way significant to how the ActiveSync client invokes the SMS client.
Um, and for all you know-it-alls mocking the OPs question about SMS and ActiveSync, well, SUCK IT!
(Just kidding -- this is a relatively recent addition to ActiveSync and probably not a lot of people know about it.)
Well. I must say it worked properly on stock roms. I had no problems sending texts from my outlook and also receiving them was ok. They used to appear in outlook seconds after they arrived to the phone. Now nothing appears and texts dont even get send when sent from outlook. This feature worked in Kumars ROM as far as i remember but it did not in Engergy and Omega ROMs.
Nobody has got any ideas?
As this is the first most of us have heard of this, I doubt you'll get an answer.
I also have this problem. AND it is a "stock ROM". (But its a swedish rom).
But I can sync them to "myphone.micrsoft.com", but I want to sync them to the mailaccount on a Exchange 2010 server.
It's a htc message client issue. If you use the Zenyee Disable HTC messaging 1.2 it works
