Debugging Network Applications in WM 5.0 - Networking

Hi All,
ActiveSync 4.x is very helpful in device debugging, but not for network applications. This is because all network connections (WiFi, GPRS) do not
connect when active sync is connected. My application uses both WiFi
and GPRS. So, when I connect with ActiveSync, I am not able to send
and receive any data since there is no WiFI and GPRS. Is there any solution available to this?. It will be very helpful for debugging network applications using ActiveSync.
Thanks,
Prakash.K

How to connect internet through wi-fi only

Hello,
Is there any step by step on how to connect the internet using the wi-fi feature only and not the gprs.
I've got a cingular 8525 and I've tried all sorts of configurations to make the internet work but no matter I do every time I open the internet explorer to browse internet it tries to connect through GPRS.
How can I set up my phone to use wi-fi only and not gprs?
thanks,
Moscou
settings->connections->connections->advance
choose my network rather then my isp in both the dropdown box's
It didn't work! Any other clue?
donno to see if it's a connection setting then if you are sync'd with bluetooth to activesync it should use the network of the pc it's sync'd with
Don't know if this helps but I use the NODATA application to disable ISP and GRS so by default it always tries to connect to wifi.

Sharing ActiveSync connection over WiFi on WM6

Hi.
Is it possible to share the ActiveSync internet connection from the computer (on my Wizard WM6) over WiFi?
Basic scheme: Computer with internet access->ActiveSync to Wizard->Sharing the activesync internet connection on Wizard over WiFi.
Any ideas?
that feature i recall was removed from activesync at one point cant recall what version
it should however be possible to setup an adhoc network between the pda and the pc without using activesync to share internet to the pda
Yes, its possible, and does work. The thing is that I have two laptops, one with wifi, one without (lan network). Anyways, thanks for help.

Internet connection via Activesync

First time connecting phone to the Activesync, choosing to share an internet from the comp, but there is no inet connection when Activesync connected. It's always trying to connec to GPRS. When disabling phone module - there is no internet at all.
Did anyone have this problem?
Resolved.
Menu File->Connection setting - change Computer connected to: from Automatic to Internet.
Conection settings-usb to PC You must set (enable faster data synchronization) just when You want upgrade GPS data, but when You want again normal phone synchronization this option switch off!
I try this also and work!

How can i change the connection sequence?

Hi @all,
how can i change the connection sequence in my hd2?
When i connect the usb-cable to my pc, the wifi is changed to off, but i would wifi is connected.
Please Help and sorry for my bad english.
Thx
Norbert
While your phone is in active sync mode (connected to your pc) your pc is sharing its internet connection with the phone so why would you want to have wifi still on?
On working station, the PC Internet connection is blocking, so i want the connection over wifi or gsm.
if you're using windows mobile device centre (I think the same options are there with the old activesync too), with the phone unplugged, choose 'mobile device settings' from the green screen, then 'connection settings'.
Check the 'Allow data connections on device when connected to PC'. The wifi connection should then persist when the phone is syncing
(edit): on the old activesync PC program, it's under File/Connection settings
Thank you, that's it
