How to get back Windows Media Player as default mp3 player??

Recently I installed iMUSIC, However, my JAM stops playing Mp3 as Ringtone!
I uninstalled that prog & since then I have no default player for mp3 & can't assign mp3 file as ringtone !!
I tried to assosiate prog. by Resco file explorer but when pressing on the file WM10 told me it's not supported file, While I can oplay the same file if I open in from WM10 menu itself...
What should I do???

WMAFile
try hack registry :
HKCR---- .mp3----Default change to "WMAFile"
then SoftReset.

When I click the button in file explorer, Wm10 opened but tells me it cant play the file ( while if I open the same file within WM10 menu it plays) !

i have this problem too. im using iMUSIC as mp3 player and can't assign mp3 files as ringtone. i cant find a fix either so i end up not using mp3 files as ringtone but use .wav & .wmv files instead.

i have the same problem using pocketmusic, lets hope this software sorts the problem, have not downloaded it yet but if it works please let us know

It works just great! THX! Now I got my old ringtones back plus can play mp3's as ringtones! Great stuff on the top of all it consumpts very little amount of memory. there is only one snag: works only if installed in the main memory not the storage card.

Glad it did the trick :lol:

Only Default Windows Ringtones after QTEK Upgrade

I have a T-Mobile MDA VARIO, I really wanted my Bluetooth headset adapter to work with my phone using A2DP etc.. It worked and the upgrade has improved the phone no end... except.. I can only use the windows default ring tone.
All the other ring tones (fantasy, jig etc.. ) are in the Windows directory, but saved as wma files rather than wav and they just wont play..
I have tried to convert the wma file and delete the originals, but the files are in the readonly ROM!!!
Has anyone else had this issue? Do you know how to resolve it?? HELP... thanks

you need the cab that makes this possible.
See the Wizard wiki on extended ROM's fro it.
In the T-Mobile explanation is the answer on which cab you need.

Thanks edsub.. tried installing the usa t-mobile and the NL cab, but still does not work...
UPDATE : WORKING!! Thanks edsub.. Needed to re-associate the wav and mp3 files with Windows Media player, all ok now... Maybe I did not need the cab file, all I needed to do is use RESCO Explorer to associate the music files with Media player rather than imusic, which it was previously set to

Hand set doesn't work

I'm new of the forum.
I have a problem with my XDA IIi.
I configure the hand set with the bluetooth. The phone recognize the device and it connect with him.
When I make a call, I hear from the hands free just a noise.
Why?
Another question, how may I use the mp3 as ringtone??

What type of hands free you're using???
To set mp3 as ringtone, just copy that mp3 file to /Windows/Rings/ Folder. Then you can choose it from Sound & Notifications.

I have tried with NOKIA HDW-3 and with Jabra BT-1000

I have tried to put the mp3 file into the directory thet you have suggestedd me, it doesn't work. It switch to the previous one.

you need to patch registry a little. search this forum for mp3ringtones.cab and wmaringtones.cab

I have to patch the registry for which? for use mp3 as ringtone?

By this software you can set MP3 as ringtone just tak CAB file as it is and paste it on your device and click on it then it will automatically inistill

u can use mp3 as a ringtone without any software, just put ur MP3 file into "my document- my ringtones".
or u can use mp3 as a sms sound. just put ur mp3 file on "windows". now u can use it.

Bluetooth Headset Help Anyone????

You may want to to do a search about AD2P. AD2P will enable you to have stereo transmission via bluetooth. I had to upgrade the ROM on my 8125 to get my Logitec bluetooth headphones to work. I hope that helps.

i did manage to find the tornado a2dp files which i manage to copy where it was required but only thing i was stuck on how to import the registry file, do you have any idea how to go about importing the reg files n where cuz am totatly lost in this part thanks

Look for the cabs...
The Cabs does everything for you, look for A2DP.cab or zoki.cab or so on...
If you want to import registry, use Resco's explorer with it registry editor.. look for the cabs..
