Just a quick recommendation - 8125, K-JAM, P4300, MDA Vario General

2 weeks ago, I bought a Holux 236 GPS from Clove Technology.
www.clove.co.uk
In the box, was a note stating that this batch of GPS were missing the advertised UK adapters for the mains charger.
I wasnt that bothered about this, but today, I got a replacement 3 Pin charger completely out of the blue and free of charge.
I know many of you go down the cheaper / Ebay route for your GPS, but I just thought I should mention this as I think it is a fantastic ad for this company.
Give them a click.

My daughter also purchased a Holux 236 from Clove that actually developed a fault with the bluetooth connectivity with her handset.
A quick phone call and the unit returned resulted in a new replacement arriving a few days later.
No problems, just great service.
Recommended, device and retailer.

PCWorld tomtom GPS receiver with bluetooth £50 ... I think

Hi all,
I've seen this item at PCWorld but I can't work out if it's a GPS receiver or just a dashboard mounting kit!
http://www.pcworld.co.uk:80/martprd/product/TOMTOM/GENERIC+IPAQ+CARKIT/024526
The picture is of a Garmin device that does look like a GPS receiver so I'm very confused. If it is just a dashboard mounting kit then why does it say that it's "bluetooth enabled"?
Has anyone got one of these or even seen one? If so, is it a bargain tomtom gps receiver or a badly described, overpriced lump of plastic?
Cheers!
Gadget
Whatever it is, it's not what's in the picture!
That's a wrist-mounted GPS for running/hiking.
See the heartrate monitor strap in the background!

bought my bluetooth gps from www.mobilefun.co.uk for £40. works a treat, five sat fixes even in car glove box
Thanks chaps, I guess if something seems too good to be true then it usually is! I'm going to plump for one of those bargain ones from mobilefun.com after all.
I'll get a dashboard mouting kit too - do you find it better to have your wizard in portrait or landscape with tomtom?
Cheers!
Gadget.
Cheapo GPS mount
I have an ultra cheap vent pount for a phone (about £2 from Tesco). My TT bluetooth GPS fits snugly into that.

Another couple of bonuses with this receiver are that it uses a mini USB socket to charge and comes with an in-car charger so this doubles as a free in car charger for the mini S!, also uses the same batttery as many current Nokia mobile phones (BL-5C) which means spare batteries are easy to get hold of.
Wow, £40 isn't bad is it?
I paid £35 for a wired one for my Palm!!
Shame it says 7-14 day delivery.

Mine was delivered in 18 hours!!! ordered at 15:00 in the afternoon, arrived in the post at 9am the next morning. guess they had stock at the time though
I ordered mine from mobilefun on monday morning this week along with some other stuff, by monday evening I had a SMS saying they'd part shipped the order, minus the receiver  Oh well.
The receiver does still have a 7-14 day estimated shipping time - I just hope they can still get it! I'll let you know when/if it arrives.....

Need to sell my XDA Exec...

Price: $400USD + Shipping
I was unsuccessful in using the EXEC with Cingular in the US... too many connection issues regardless of which ROM I installed. I have experienced connectivity problems with this unit, including WiFi... though everything appears to be functioning normally, it will not connect.
This unit is sold as-is, in the O2 box with the original materials (Manual, CD, cable, etc.) and is in perfect physical condition. This unit has had a screen-protector on it since purchase and has never been dropped.
I will also consider a trade/partial trade for any quad-band GSM phone by HTC. All reasonable offers will be considered and all questions will be answered, feel free to check out my feedback on eBay (user ID: mwheeler2).
I will ship anywhere, provided the purchaser pays actual shipping costs and the funds are verified before shipment.
Thanks all,
Mick

Where are the Dopod Promotions?

I was recently at Hong Kong when a I saw a lot of ads explains the Dopod promo that gives for free a 2GB card memory or Plantronics BT .
According to msmobiles.com the promo is officially released
http://msmobiles.com/news.php/6366.html
Does anyone know where in Dopod.hk website gives more detail?
tks
Phelipe
(I still haven't found what I'm looking for....) WM6 LEAKED... hehehe
I received a Dopod U1000 bonus pack (3 weeks after buying one. Some retail shops are still honest). This bonus pack has a car holder, car charger, 2 GB mini-sd card, software pack and Garmin GPS software.
On top of that I received a Dopod stereo BT headset when I bought it.
I think it is up to the retailer how much they give you. I'm sure Dopod gives them a lot of extras.
Where are you from? I brought mine at Wan-Chai Computer City (HK)
I already register my address, do you think hey are going to ship the bonus pack?
I'm in Thailand.
If you talk with your retailer they might (or might not) give you the new bonus pack... if they are nice that is. Good luck.
I bought my unit from my friend and had the bonus given 1 week after that. Feel lucky to have an honest friend.

How much did you pay for your Wizard?

Hi all,
Figure I'd start a little topic that hopefully isn't a dupe.
I'm just wondering how much you all paid for your devices, and where/when you bought them?
I've only had my Wizard a few days - I got it 2nd hand from a company that were upgrading all their employees phones. ~£40 (~$80) is the price I paid (xe.com if you wanna convert that into euros etc!) which I thought was a great price for such a fun bit of kit. There are a lot of scratches/dents on the case and the left softkey doesn't work but apart from that it's running perfecto!
I've upgraded the IPL/SPL to 3.08, flashed it with TNT WM6 and set up VoIP calling. I'm awaiting an SD card before I play around any further.
So how much did you pay for yours?
Thinking of selling this little Wizard - interested?!
Well, I just got mine 3 days ago. Got it from a Pawn Shop for a cool 20USD! The whole stipulation was that the battery didnt hold a charge, so I went to my local battery store and bought a 20USD battery and it works like a champ! The other stipulation was that it COULD NOT be unlocked to anyone other than Cingular(seeing as its a Cingular 8125).....bbbuuutttt, I can home and used the lokwiz tool and voila! Unlocked Wizard!!! So for 40USD, I dont think that I did too bad!;P
Got mine brand new for about £80 off egay.
Got a 2GB SD card off Play.com for about £12.

Cool deal!
Also to mention I got mine boxed with all the original accessories & a leather case which adds to the overall value-for-money. All in all I'm very pleased!
Hoping my SD card arrives tomorrow as I'm craving installing and messing about with some new apps
Got my VPA Compact II from a friend in Germany for 100€ with 2Gb card.
MaX
Sniped mine of eBay yesterday... £55 p&p for...
unlocked XDA Mini S in Original Box (with the usual: charger, spare stylus, USB sync cord, instructions etc...)
1gb SD card (said 1gb in auction, arrived with 2gb )
GPS reciever
TomTom 5+6
leather? case
can't wait for it to arrive
i got mine free from cingluar... i had the treo 680... and i traded it in the 8125....
got it first when it came out $300 dollars plus serivce. almost 2.5 years later still using it. Best phone i've had thus far.
Mine was free on a contract - UK T-mobile £22.50 a month with unlimited web and walk. I'm 12 months into an 18 month contract - despite unlocking it and flashing with WM6 I'm kind of tired of the phone now - it's a bit clunky and ugly compared with what's out there now. Don't think I'll get a phone with a built in keyboard again as I hardly ever use it.
Mind you I've dropped the flipping thing about 6 times this week and it's still going strong
Got mine when it was new about two years ago for $399, including a 1GB card, car charger, and a bluetooth headset. I've been nothing but happy with it.
i paid US$450 for it from cingular, that was almost 2 years ago
20 bux
i got mine from a friend downgrading to the iphone for 20 bux and some free guitar lessons almost a year ago
i paid 40 for mine
Mine was $300. I got it two years ago.
Paid $95 for mine off eBay almost two years ago to the day. Some guy was trying to
upgrade the radio and couldn't get it going again. The thing was brand new. After reading
on this forum for a couple of days, put it in bootloader mode, reloaded the software and
still going strong. I had thought to sell it back to the guy (they were going for about $400
at the time i think)
i paid $170 for my 8125 (used but it looks new). i am plaining to get the 8925(cause this one has GPS built in)
Paid £35 on Ebay - just got the phone (in nice condition - hardly a scratch) with a single stylus, no charger or any accessories. I have a HTC Artemis (T-Mobile MDA Compact III) as well, the charger from that works fine, so no worries.
Main problem was that the dork who sold it me, , had not unlocked/reset the phone so I could not initially get it going. A quick search led me to you guys and I quickly found the instructions on resetting it - works a treat now, have since picked up a 2GB SD cad from SVP for £7.50, so now have a cracking phone/PDA for less than £50.

Got mine as an upgrade on O2 about 19 months ago for £49.95.
After 4 years with a fully modded siemens sx1, decided to change to something different. Bought mine on ebay for 70 euros..

USB Cradle form brando now available

HTC Touch Pro 2nd Battery USB Cradle
HTC Touch Pro USB Cradle
anyone comment on the shop/cradle? I'm having to resist buying one atm tbh =D
Shop is great, I bought from them in the past couple of times. As for the cradle - wait a week, just bought the 2-battery one
i like the idea of it coming with it's own power supply as, correct if wrong, it can be mains chargins/syncing @ the same time?
someone convince me not to buy the 2nd battery dock .. brando said they're in stock now .. must resist D:
Got the cradle today, very impressed, comes with charger, sync cable, good quality, but a bit on the big side. But the price made it worht while at $15.00
would recommend it
where's you buy it from for $15 jim? ebay?

Product code SUSCR018602 UK Type
Straight from Brando. I got two fro $51.00 inc shipping from Hong Kong.
They arrived 5 days after i placed the order.
Mine also arrived. It's great for that price.
It has one downside - the same my previous Eten M700 cradle had - very bright LED light. I have to use my black sticking tape again
