what is the procedure to backup the radio alone?? please let me know
What is the instructions to "load" this radio rom to magician?
ya thats what I meant to
why is this radio smaller than all of the others? is it safe
To backup radio rom:
enter bootloader mode and in mtty issue command:
d2s 60000000 300000
this will dump radio rom to SD card then use ntrw or winhex to save backup in PC. End of backup file is HTCE in ASCI (48 54 43 45 hex).
To write 1.13 radio, you have to replace 444 first bytes (1BC hex) in file using bytes from your backup. Write file to SD card using ntrw or winhex. Put SD card to PPC and enter bootloader mode, it will ask you to press power button to procede flashing. I think it will work this way but I'm not 100% shure! Be extremely carefull you can destroy your device!
shamus is right. People in China have flashed the radio ROM to 1.13 using this method. If you can read Chinese, you can find details in the link:
http://www.hi-pda.com/forum/viewthread.php?tid=263959&fpage=1&sid=pIA2Ts
I have already upgraded mine to radio 1.13. The sound volume seems to be much louder and so far, there has been no GPRS error, etc.
I can confirm my speculations 1.13 radio ROM works on my MDA Compact now
thanks for the instructions it worked perfect. once again I am at the forefront of convergance technology, for a few minuets
I'm not sure about this procedure hard-resetting my device after a (succesfull) flash. Will the Radio-ROM-only update cause a hard-reset, or will all my data be intact afterwards?
@Jainoxi: Once you entered bootloader mode all your data is gone - no matter whether any flashing has taken place.
@shamus: Your successful message tempts me to try it myself. And it was also new to me, that Radio ROM could be backed up (as well as being flashed the low level way).
@Chatty: I thought that entering the bootloader would preserve the data. Just flashing would hard-reset... Oh well, have to make a full backup then

Should I cut all data before this point, and discard the rest, or leave it like it is, and only change the first few bytes?
EDIT: Shamus, nevermind, figured it out. Just copy the first 444bytes from your saved Radio ROM to the new 1.13.00 ROM, and do nothing else to it
This sounds cool! Would be a dream come true to get rid of the GPRS problems! I rather wait for someone to make a cab and upload it though..
Forget about a .cab file. It's not gonna happen. But no doubt a normal ROM update with this new 1.13 Radio will soon be available, making life a lot easier
I took the 30 minutes out of my life, though, to do this update now. No problems whatsoever and it appears to be running just fine. But don't expect this to cure the GPRS problems. They seem to be related to the later versions of Caller ID and not the Radio, according to another thread on this site.
where is the new radio files?
they dont seem to be in the /Magician/Radio directory?

On the XDA-Dev FTP: /Uploads/Magician/radio1.13.0.sd.rar
I've completed this update succesfully as well. Running like a charm in the past hour
Could anyone post this radio on http://rapidshare.de/ or other similar (http) site ?
Because I have difficulties to access ftp.
Please, share It
Thanx in advance.

d2s 60000000 00300000
doesnt seem to do anything. when u rin just d2s it dumps the whole ROM. What am I doing wrong?

You must write the command in the window, not just cut and paste...
awharton try to type d2s 60000000 300000
Hi all,
I uploaded all roms + extended roms I have for our beloved HTC Wizard.
You can find them here:
ftp://xda:[email protected]/Uploads/HTC_Wizard/
Maybe a (FTP) administrator can move them to the main FTP index so we have a folder like all other HTC phones.
Any new roms can ofcourse be uploaded to the same folder.
Have fun!
Hey
why you don't have an german rom ?
regards, Peter
Because I dont have any German roms myself.
I uploaded all roms I found myself...
If you can provide me any links than I can download it and upload to the XDA FTP.
Has anyone managed to make a ROM dump of the UK T-Mobile ROM?
I would be interested in an o2 UK rom also.
Would be nice.
Yeah, would be good to get an archive of all the roms, good work on getting this started.
If i wasn't in such a hurry to flash my Rom i would have waited until i got a Mini SD card and backed my UK T-Mobile ROM up first, im just too impatient! Wish i had waited now, as now i am after it again!!
Anyone?... :?
Thanks Panja
can anyone upload the TW_Chinese ROM? Thanks

How i can do this? Is there any proggy which backup the rom?
To backup your rom you need to do the folowing...
First:
Your phone needs to have the bootloaded unlocked ,so use the following unlock tool lokiwiz - HTC Wizard Unlocker UPDATE Version 0.2a created by machinagod which can be found here, and when you run the PC app choose 'C' for SuperCID (this will unlock the bootloader) Version 0.2a is the latest and it worked great on my phone, instructins are on the page - Thank you machinagod for all your work here, its a great tool!
Second:
To backup the ROM, download the two files attached to This Post written by arnoldl - Thanks for this info arnoldl, very helpful. Follow the instructions in the post.
Third:
Which ROM is it by the way? T-Mobile? O2? is it a UK ROM?
When you have it saved can you upload it to The FTP area and post here to tell us what it's called and where it is so it can be catalogued with others to help build a good archive of them.
Cheers and Hope this info helps

you can restore the image only, when you leave the image on the sd-card.
when you write it on your harddisk with ntrw and write it back to sd-card with ntrw the restore won't work!
Nobody here has confirmed, that the image (here on ftp) are working!

Cheers greddy - i was just about to post that!!
Can the image on the SD card be coppied to a Zip or Rar file directly and NOT using NTRW? Maybe this can be tried and extracted back onto a mini SD card by someone else, im very willing to try it, then we will all know if this works.
So for now bill_viper - Backup your ROM to MiniSD card but do not use NTRW!! Just keep that Mini SD card safe and do not delete it until a safe way of backing up the image to a distributable file or archive has been found.
I've just done a bit more reading and it looks like you can use NTRW to create a backup file of the ROM from the SD card image.
The problem experienced is with loading ANY rom onto the device using the 1.06 bootloader (the one with the K-JAM rom) so in order to put a Rom onto a device with the 1.06 K-Jam rom - the 1.06 bootloader) you first have to put the prodigy rom on or something like this using the *.exe file as it has a different bootloader (1.01)
So bill_viper please do use NTRW to backup the ROM image on your MiniSD card, and please post it on the FTP for archiving.
Cheers
First of all i would like thanq mattstroud for your time.
The info u've posted are very helpful. I have a Qtek 9100 English Version.
I will read the thread u specified above and i'll backup my rom and upload it.
Hello mattstroud
i have try Booloader 1.01, 1.03 and 1.06!
No luck and not the reason, why ntrw makes **** when read and

..
Hi greddy,
did you not have a damaged image file wasn't that the reason for your problems?
----------EDIT----------
Seeing sun75's post proves that the problem does lie with the 1.06 Bootloader and not the NTRW image, so greddy i think your image file was damaged which caused problems regardless of which bootloader was being used.
Cheers for this info sun75, good to get some definite proof after all.

Ok, i didn't know this. Looking at sun75's post it worked fine for him when he loaded a rom with the 1.03 bootloader. Maybe this problem is specific to your device? :?
2 new roms added:
K-JAM_Italian_1030902_102_ship.exe
K-JAM_Norwegian_1040902_104_10910_ship.exe
Excellent, nice one.
Any one able to add a T-Mobile UK ROM?
Hi Everybody,
after nearly 2 years of inactivety I am back...and with a problem-after I got to involved in business I lent my xda to a friend, he had no better idea then to put a strange rom on it.
Now to my problem. I cooked a downgrade rom 3.17, downloaded it. I used the OSImage Tool to write the file named NK.nb1 on my sd card.Hardrestetted my xda and there I am. In the wallaby bootloader. He does not ask me to upgrade from the card...nothing....
I would do it over the cradle...but that does not work because he installed some kind of se rom.
I am stuck...realy.
Could anyone be so kind and give me a hint? I looked and read the whole day in the forum...
Thank you
H
Maybe you use a Internal SD-Card Writer?
They often make problems in writing the ROM correctly on the card.
You should try an other SD-Card-Writer or try getting a functioning ROM of an other device by backup....
You can also test the process by backuping your "strange" ROM and try to reflash the backup ROM. This should work and will show you, if you really have some problems in writing the ROM to the Card....
Stefan
solved
Hi Stefan
(Dank Dir, Thema erledigt)
Problem solved. I believe it was my card writer, even 2 of them, which caused the trouble. Both of them wrote the file in a wrong format (dont ask me why)
When I read the how to once more I have seen that I can write through activesync. When I tried that it suddenly worked like a charm.
So thank you again-your hint about the writer solved the problem.
Cheers -or better- Herzlichen Dank!

I have an unbranded Chinese P800 from eBay and would like to upgrade it to WM 6.0. What I have onboard :
1. WM 5.0 OS 5.1.525 (Build 15364.3.4.4)
2. Processor ARM926T OMAP730
However, one perculiar thing is that I can't find any Device Info on IPL, SPL, Radio ROM etc. I've tried using WST 4.2.2 but to no avail. I'm using my Lenovo S10 Netbook running XP and ASync 4.5. What I've managed to do are :
1. Run USPL, it goes from 0.. to 60.. and hangs, I reset my P800, USPL resumes to 70..100 and the RUU program starts,
2. the screen on my P800 turns dark with the Linux Penguin and some message of mapping, preloader etc comes on temporarily before Windows comes on again,
3. RUU runs, upgrading to image 9.99 (original image is blank-no info), when UPDATE ROM IMAGE ON YOUR PDA PHONE comes on it never gets to more than 0% (no blue progress bar), my P800 screen goes dark, loses connection and I get ERROR(260).
I have done this several times and there is no way I can verify if the CID is unlocked as I can't get the SPL info anywhere. So I will appreciate any help I can get. Thanks in advance.

Many thanks for your reply and pointing to the right direction. I'll get to it asap and post the outcome (success I hope!)
Hi Salimbs,
just another note,
in the past I found myself in big trouble (not with Himalaya as it was SD flashed) but with Charmer and Magician ROM updates, also with ROMs that I have already used in the past and classified as stable,
Roms used to get blocked during upgrade leaving me in Boot mode if I don't remember bad..
I have noticed that this error was common when Ms. Office applications like for sxample Word or Excel was turned on!
it makes like a kind of disturb to the rom!
once closed (all office and not necessary applications) roms updates smooth and bug free!
Don't remember if it was an Err 260 or not, I just remember that update blocked at a certain point...
try to do your upgrades with office turned off!
wish it will help to solve your problem

Hi mouse.co.nr,
Well noted and I'll keep this in mind. From your experience have you ever tried the SDHC.cab so that your phone can read the micro SDHC? I ran it in my phone and now my STORAGE CARD is gone! Anyway, thanks again. Cheers!
Not SDHC my friend but Artemis SDHC,
I don't know what is exactly the difference, maybe one is for big SD and the other is for MicroSD, anyway I've tried the one for artemis and now I'm working with a 8 GB micro sd, and it can go till 16 GB.
I've tried that with other artemis ROM versions and works very good...
For your problem have a look at this post:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=345038;
and download the programs indicated below...
What I advice you to do is the following:
1) remove your SDHC card (it have a sort of bad luck with any upgrade that needs a reboot)
2) copy SDHC_Artemis_back2original.cab to your documents folder (PPC documents obviously) then run it, soft reset.
3) then copy the correct SD HC for artemis "SDHC-Artemis.cab ", in the same way of the above and run it.
this shuld work "I wish for you"
let me know..
how about the ROM update? did you succeed at the end?
have you also updated also GSM radio ROM? generally original roms come with a 2.11.... version, old and not always good in reception!
I advice to change it in 03.18.90 shall work well also with your provider, for GSM signal WIFI, GPRS and GPS..

* Run start_uspl.exe from the Artemis_USPL package in the link above,
* Run till it reachs 100% and Dos Window turns off alone, and launches RUU upgrade interface..yes, yes, continue, continue.... 100%
* After device shall have SPL 1.11 and so you can load new ROMs
let me know if it will solve the problem..

Hi mouse,
Actually "Kermit the Frog" is the icon for JumpSPL.exe.
