I have searched here and other forums but can not find any simple method to change the wallpaper, I have looked in the registry and can see a mention of tdywater etc. but can't find the files in my Universal. Does anyone know of a thread that explains exactly how to do this or a program that can do it with command line paramters.

Changing icon color substitution value for connection icons?

Appologies if this has been covered before. I searched a few ways but found nothing.
I am trying to change the color of the battery, sound, sync, etc icons. I looked through all the materials for themes and windows internal colors and was unable to find a registry key for them. I tried tweaking all the values for unknown keys and still had no effect. I located the icons in the windows directory and they appear to be using the classic two color substitution game for .bmp files. I have been trying to determine how windows mobile assigns the color for the icons but have been unable to locate it.
I was curious if anyone knew or had come across how windows deals with this, if it was some obscure registry key or came from somewhere in the rom. I had located online allusions to the idea that oems could mess with the icons but unfortunately no details to explain how.
If you can help, I would be most thankful.
Regards,
Rudy
They're bitmaps embedded in some of the rom dlls. I posted about it once, but couldn't find my own post on the issue . I think I know a way to change them now, but can't remember which dll they were in. I think it was shell*dll or something... if and when and remember, I'll try knocking together a solution.

Interesting, I'll look around in the dlls and see what I can find. I found what seemed to be the bitmaps used in the bar lying loose in the \Windows directory. I'll try editing them to see if it changes their appearance in the top row.
I am most interested in changing their color. I cannot seem to find anywhere where they they derrive the values that the icons substitute colors for.
Thanks for your response.

the file was shellres32.dll
Here is the post where we were talking about this i still never managed to do it so if you have figured out a way would be much appreicated.

Plain background in TouchFlo3D?

Very frustrated...yesterday I stumbled across a thread which had a couple of cab files I want (I'm almost certain it was titled 'Show your screens' or something like that) - can I f..king find it last night OR today????? Can I hell....looked from pages 1-33 on here THREE times...ugh.
Anyway - what I was actually after (sigh) is - there appeared to be a .CAB which applied the Home screen background in TF3D to ALL the tabs in TF3D (with it there was also a custom font cab [french display] and a no_curtains cab, but I found the no_curtains one cross posted from the diamond forum)
ALSO - I think I saw a .CAB for removing the annoying (for me at least) 'Tron'-like/perspective grey buttons background that is default in TF3D - does anyone know if this cab does exist for the HD?
Help very very much appreciated (huge apologies if I've completely spaced and these are right under my nose....)
I second you. I've been looking for a simple way to either eliminate all background from TF3D tabs on the HD, or set a common background image on all tabs, but I could not find a ready-made .cab or a clear procedure to do so.
Go to here:- TF3D Program Icons
In there WAS the .cab file TFL3DTABICONSV3.cab to change the icons.
Unfortunately it's no longer on uploadings server. Your best bet is to leave a post in that topic and maybe someone will have a new link for you..... or try google.

Always easier to just use the search function. Entering something straight forward like "hd background on all pages" gets you here:

Thanks! - my search criteria wasn't cutting it - brainlock!!
much obliged

[QUESTION] How do you change icons in the WM6.1 Control Panel?

Okay folks, before you accuse me of being a noob and tell me to "Search Search Search", rest assured that I am not a noob, I've been around the block MANY times and I know the search routine.. I've been searching for the past few hours and have come up with nothing.
That being said..
I am trying to change the icons in the WM6.1 Control Panel. I have been able to successfully change a handful of icons by resource hacking either the Executable, the DLL, or the corresponding CPL file. This doesn't change the fact that I am having a really hard time figuring out how to change the rest of the icons in the WM6.1 Control Panel.
For this I am humbly asking you all for your help.
Any and all help will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance,
Dan.
shellres.192.dll has the icons...
Thank you very much. Search was coming up empty but now thank to you I'm more than half done.
Thanks again,
Dan

I believe we can make the files transpar and then install them in windows file with total commander. Like this
Try to use this cab: http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=246740&d=1258239820
It's taken from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=584415
Has been made for LEO but as it is about WM-files there shouldn't be a problem and it is uninstallable.

[Q] Registry Entries for Wallpaper

Hi all dear friends .
I have 2 questions
1- How change Wallpaper for ROM Before Release ?!
2- How do I sort programs in Start menu ?!
Sorry if my English language was bad .
Did you mean sense wall or windows standard wall?
For start menu sorting the reg keys are:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Security\Shell\StartInfo\Start\youre program.lnk]
"ItemPosition"=dword:5 (<-example)
This is the registry entry to set the wallpaper:
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\HTC\Manila]
"HomeBackgroundPath"="??????"
You can add this into your kitchen somewhere and make sure "HomeBackgroundPath" points to the correct location of the pic you want to use. If you're having issues getting this regedit to stick you can make a .cab or an xml to run at boot up with these regedits in it.
If you're using CHT, then it's:
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\HTC\Manila]
"CHT.Wall.HomePortrait"="???"
"CHT.Wall.AllLandscape"="???"
"CHT.Wall.AllPortrait"="???"
"CHT.Wall.HomeLandscape"="???"
You can either adjust the app.reg of your CHT package or edit the CHT cab itself, if you cook it that way.
Oh, and also if you want to edit the wallpaper of the overall theme, like the start menu wallpaper, you have to edit the .tsk of your theme. Replace the stwater_480_800.jpg and the stwater_800_480.jpg with your own pics (one for landscape and one for portrait). My device (TP2) is 480x800 WVGA. If yours is different then the names of the stwater pics will be different. For example, a VGA device's stwater .jpgs would be stwater_480_640 and stwater_640_480 since VGA res. is 480x640.
I believe any program that can open up and edit cabs can also open up and edit .tsks.
@Op
Can you please change thread title to more specific?
Imagine everyone opens a thread with a title
'I have some question'
Do you think it will be easy to find for others and you what they are looking for?
Edit,
I also like to suggest to read the forum rules and have a look in the
stickies because the questions you are asking are answered before.
@Op,
I'm closing this thread to avoid forum clutter.
Sorry but I gave you plenty of time to change thread title.
If you disagree please contact me in pm and we can talk about reopening.
* Mod EDIT *
hilaireg: changed thread title.
