A friend of mine has Compact II (Magician) and when sending texes they have a Phone Pad option aswell as the keyboard option.
But it doesnt seem to be included on the Vario II.
It looks a quicker way to send messages as the pad is big enough to use your finger and it uses the T9 input.
Does anyone know of an App for this?

On my XDA Trion, it doesen`t work. After installing and softreset, it is available, but it`s nothing to see on the Screen.
I've installed International version in my TyTN and works fine in spanish.
I have to agree with Parazzi that I have tried installing both the English only version from this site and also the international (with a complete removal between versions) and while the option is added to the list of possible keyboards I see nothing on the screen. Could there be a registry adjustment that needs to be made?
I can not get into FTP server..can some send it to me?

Phone Pad Desperate Help Needed!!
I searched the forum but found different tread about this but none of them with a complete and clear answer.
I installed phonepad (so I can send quick MSM with one hand) maybe 20 times in tha last week
it runs for a couple of hours then I can see it in the keybord option but cannot select it!
Even if I uninstall it and reinstall it same!
The only solution for me is to HARD RESET my device (did it more than 20 times...) and reinstall everything + Phonepad ..ok for 2 or 3 hours then it goes again!!
I might add that my device is a Japanese system running englisg UI found on this forum. Could be that the problem?
Anyone can help me out?
Is there another program or application istead of the one downloadable from this forum?

I do not have 3rd party phone dialer, I am using the default one (english) Or do you mean the Japanes (original system) phone dialer? As mentioned my phone originally was Japanese, I can restore that with a hard reset.
Also I foud that even the symbol pad does not work
I am using PPC for the last 5 years and NEVER had SOOO many problems If I could get back to my HP

input option but cannot select it and get this error "the selected imput method could not be loaded" could be a currupted file ?
Where can i manually delete the phonepad files?

I dedicated my Saturday morning to my favorite hobby: install uninstall softreset hardreset sounds strange but I really enjoy
First of all I hard reset my device back to Japanese system then proceeded with installind one program at the time (first phonepad) and softreset after each installation.
I found out that if I install phonepd AND spb diary on the same driver, phonepad does not work!(at least on my device)
So I installed spb diary on my memory card and phonepad on the device memory and is working!
Also Microsoft voice command makes problems.
But unfortunatelly even if MVC is on a different driver phonepad does not work
I hope that one of the great programmers of this forum could take a look at this problem and find a way to solve it.
Will try to change my device back to English again and try the same procedure ...but not Today

Now I just have to delete the languages I do not use...know how to?

I have an O2 XDA mini s. I got really fed up with all the O2 stuff taking up all the space on the today screen so I did a hard reset and then did a soft reset before all the O2 stuff got installed.
I'm much happier with this now but the only problem I have is that the smart dialer does not work. How can I reinstall just the dialer without installing all the operator stuff?

The SmartDialer is a CAB file in the extended rom.
Install it and you will be fine.
If you don't know how to find it, I attached the SmartDialer CAB from my Qtek 2.18 Rom, I'm almost sure that if you install this one, you will be just fine

I did a little house cleaning on my phone today and accidently erased the smart dialer reg settings (ok well not accidently but now i can't open the smart dialer options). I used the above .cab to reinstal the smart dialer program but its still not coming up... any suggestions?

I am using a Traditional Version of Dopod D810. Everything works except i can't use any 3rd party SIP. Installation is all okay. Just when i select the that 3rd party SIP. It will goes to the default SIP in WM5. Any Ideas?
I did search for the newsgroups and did try to soft reset for several times. It didn't work at all.
Is it a Langauage problem or it is a trinity problem ?
btw: I did try nullkb and tengo. Both didn't work. I did install resco keyboard pro and it works sometimes after soft reset.

This question is a nightmare, i´ve tried resco, tengo and others, now i´m with spb full keyboard, i have the same problem with this one cannot select but since you can assign a key to pop it up i will keep it, but this is a terrible flaw in the device.

I use SPB FullScreenKeyboard. do a search for SipChange as it will solve your problems. Worked for me.

Spb Diary come in my mind for your second question, it's not free but in my opinion its worth the money. Another program is called Today Agenda, haven't had my hand on it but I guess others here did.
The HTC Touch Today Screen can be an alternative to Spb Mobile Shell. It can be found either here or in the Wizard subforum. It's somewaht free, but it really slows down you PPC alot and takes away at least half of your screen.

What language does your OS have.
I had to change the .mui files into 0407 for my german Terra.
And for registrysettings - use totalcommander. The best filemanager and FREE - and it has regedit, ftp, and lan service.

As papamopps said, you just have to "localize" the plugin. It is only one .mui.0409 file you need to rename. If you use a good file explorer like TotalCommander you will be able to find and rename the file. I guess you are not using an English device so you should find that particular file easily in the Windows folder. After that uncheck and check the plug in from the settings menu.
I am desperately looking for a (working!) method to use another keyboard (like the good cootek touchpal keyboard) on my HTC P3600 (WM5). I tried the software IMSelector as well as SIPChange but it works only a few times!I reboot many times but I always keep the default keyboard...

I have an identical problem with the TouchPad or TouchKeyboard installed on my P3600. I've found that removing some of the object on the Today screen help TouchPad to start. So today, i've only a few items (messaging and SBP Diary) on my Today screen.
I also wait a little bit before entering my pin code for the phone until i see touchpad started (it shows the keyboard for a few seconds).
Since then, i "don't" have so much problems.

Alternate SIPs not showing up is a well discussed problem in the Trinity forum, having just reinstalled everything on my own Trinity it seems that it is memory related, once the free RAM is below about half then alternate SIPs tend to be reluctant to work reliably.
A friend told me there is a program to see big letters on the screen so that I don't need to use pen to write sms. Can someone help me? As you can see I'm not pc expert

HTC Phone Pad works well! I've had it on my SPV since first upgrading WM5 (now on WM6) and it works fine as a T9 keypad emulator.

I have found if you install more than one of these on your device then you can't switch between them.
Try uninstalling all the SIP's that you have added, soft resetting in between each and one more S/R just to be sure.
Then install just one SIP and another S/R and it should work.
If you still have trouble chuck something like SIPChange and set your preferred SIP before S/R.
I have been through many SIPs and have had the issue of most of them not being chooseable, well choose but have nothing happen. The only one i have found that is selectable is the TouchPal by Cootek.

lucky you...just tried that one, and im having the same problem as everyone else..ie...i can select it, but nothing happens.
i had the same problem with my phone
The only way i could fix it was to change my rom. now i can install as many different ones as i like.
have been trying the tengo keyboard as it splits the keyboard into 6 buttons so i can have the smallest keyboard (smaller than the normal wm one) and still use it with me fingers/nails
