Windows gone missing - iPAQ rw6828, XDA Atom General

I recently got a notice saying my device storage was critically low. I had no photos, word files or videos etc on the main device. Thinking the memory was being used by 'windows', I transferred my "windows" folder to my 2GB storage card.
Now I cant access any windows programs!!
Is there any way that I can retrieve this windows folder? And find out what is using up all my storage? Pls help!!!

1. hard reset.
2. probably temprary internet files or posts eat your space. Use memaid, to twerk registry (move all internet files to storage card)
2.a. mail attachments. - delete all unnessesery.

Storage memory full due to "music" and "pictu

Hello everybody,
My Qtek 9000 was working without any problem, until recently, it is creating a "Music" folder and a "Pictures" folder (in the root folder, where there is also "windows, temp, program files, etc...) even though i delete it all the time.
The creation of those 2 folders (with lots of files inside) are giving me then the alert : "storage memory is critically low. If you do not increase storage memory, you may not be able to start some programs. Use File Explorer to delete files you no longer need, or move some files o a storage card."
I guess activesync is creating the folders again ang again, but i only synchronize Contacts, Calendar and Favorites... NO media player !!
So i am really wondering why and how does it create those 2 folders all the time ??
Thanks for any help.
Regards,
Mike

How to free up more memory?

can someone direct me on how to free up memory on my Hermes?
My device memory is very low, I already cleared my cookies and history in Internet explorer settings.
The memory got used up when I received almost 30 e-mails to my device. Where is the e-mails files stored?
tnx in advance
cliffy101
Not 100% sure but try the My Documents folder in phone storage.
You can set the Hermes to store attachements on the sd card for emails/mms.
If you can't find where the emails are stored but want to keep them then save them as .txt files on the sd card.
Try to install all 3rd party apps on the Memory card, you can transfer any apps you already have installed by cutting them out of the My Programs folder on the device and pasting them to a My Programs folder on the sd, you just need to send a shortcut to the windows startmenu programs folder. Use Total Commander (free) or Resco Explorer if you have it.
Cheers...
tnx
tnx, I 've got all programs on sd card already, only thing is I cannot figure out where e-mail files are stored or how to set it so attachments are stored on sdcard.
tnx for advice so far ...
Go to messaging>Menu>options>Storage. It should have a box that can be checked saying "When available use storage card to store attachments". Tick it if unticked.
Cheers...

Memory problems in my jade

Hi need some help.
1. what is the defrence betwen program memory and storage memory.
i got on my jade 56% program memory and 91% storage memory.on the storage card i'm ok.
2. where can i see what files are in the storage memory as 91% is very high i dont understand whay it went up to 91% last a i saw it was around 60%.
most of my programes are in the storage card.
thanks in advance.
Storage Memory - The amount of memory allocated to data storage (pictures, notes, docs, music, .tmp etc)
Program memory - The amount of memory allocated to program storage.
Some programs load and build up hugh files in storage memory as time goes on, e.g. you tube. Do a clean up once in a while.
You can use file explorer (or TC or Resco) to see the files.
thank you azahidi
i have resco explorer but where can i fined under which folder/s i find files that i do not need. is there some application to do a clean up. any idea will help.

One very good apps is Memory Maid (purchasable from i/net). You can also use some freeware apps e.g. ClenRAM and some others.

Resco should be able sort out the file size descending/ascending. Then it's up to your own judgement (need a bit of file mgmt experience). Anything that's outside \windows or \program folders are deletable if/when not required. Avoid meddling with files in \windows (if you're not familiar). even though some can be deleted (e.g some .wav files). Just to be save before deleting (if needed) copy the files to your SD Card in case you wrongly delete.
There's this file in my windows folder which is a massive 16MB, called "mxip_initdb" anyone know what it is?

My HD2 storage space is depleting. What do I do?

I removed some applications to regain some storage space but it is depleting constantly. I cannot figure it out why. I use SD card to keep Opera cache. How can I prevent the storage space from depleting? Thanks.
I had same problem. I realised that when iuse you tube hundreds of files download temporary in system/windows/you tube. So delete that folder completely. But you will loose your history. And see in the folder system/application data/htc/ htc album/cache. And delte all files except maptable and thumbcaches. These files are not needed. and it also weighs a lot.
Thanks a lot Urvansh. I deleted all the files in htc album/cache except maptable and thumbcaches as you suggested. The files I deleted had taken about 18MB.

low on internal storage memory?, read this:
It seems that opera9 keeps all cab files you downloaded in the folder:
windows/opera9/profile/download/
I bet you opera10 does the same.
I had about 79MB of application cab files there, using up internal storage memory, which I did not need, and had no idea were there.
I found them using 'treesize mobile', available on the marketplace for free.
Also, I checked the program files folder and found that applications which I had previously uninstalled still had folders in there with files in them.
Go check out Clear Temp which is a great little app that helps you keep most of those pesky temp folders cleaned out and not using memory resources.

[Q] Recover deleted file S5 internal storage (map to drive )

Hi,
I had 1 GB worth of .wav files saved on my internal storage via the Easy Voice Recorder app. I kept getting storage space notifications and the Galaxy gives you the option to view files by type. Under Miscellanious, there was a file called EasyVoiceRecorder - I though it was a temp file of sorts so I deleted it (like a total idiot). Turns out, it wasn't a temp file but a folder containing all my .wav files.
I've since rooted the phone, bought Disk Digger and ran a scan. It only returned a hand full of small .wav files but not the ones I deleted.
I've been told Recuva might help but that works via PC and will require my internal storage to be mapped as a drive. I can't find a way to do this.
Any ideas?
I've had about the same problem, but then with pictures I've accidentally deleted.
I've used Easy Recovery Pro and scanned my complete internal memory (agressive scan).
Took a while, but I was able to recover all pictures I deleted.
Solid state storage cannot be recovered once items are deleted. The only way would be if it somehow had something like a "recycle bin" like windows does. I wouldn't know for sure if that exists.
