hi,
reg hacks section says to use total commander for reg edits.
i installed it, but don't see how to do it.
thanks!
Go to your top directory (e.g. the "\" directory), at the top, you should have a "\\", click on it. And then you will see dirs like "ftp", "LAN", "registry". Click on the "registry" to modify your (duh) registry using total comm.
Found it, thanks!

yes.
you need to install total commander on your device.
open total commander and type \extended_rom and it will show you a list of files in your ext rom.
the file you need is Default_CAVVP_IMIE_2.6......
(just double click that file and you will have a install shortcut in programs)

How can I find my registry to upgrade my phone?

I need help editing the registry using Total Commander. I have it installed and running on my herald but i don't know how to use it as a registry editor. Can anyone show me how to use it? I am trying to change "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \SOFTWARE \HTC \CommManager \WLAN= "Windows WLanMgr.exe " "DeviceName" = "{98C5250D-C29A-4985-AE5F-AFE5367E5006} TNETW12345"
go to the root directory, to get there, keep hitting up folder, then hit the "//" and there should be 3 folders, go to HKLU and then find the file and edit it
i'm pretty sure its the "//" folder
there are only a few folders in the root,so it shouldn't be that hard to discern
thanks for letting us know how to access the registry editor files. i was going crazy trying to find it in total commander. on my tilt it shows up as this: \\plugins and then from there you'll find hklm which is hotkey local machine. thanks again!!!
Adding entries to the Registry
I also had trouble getting into the Registry in Total Commander but have done that now. When we are advised that a particular entry should exist and it doesn't, does that mean we have to create one? And how do you do this in Total Commander? I can't find anyway of adding entries. Thanks for the help.
disable
is there a way to disable total commander? i f'n hate it!!!ahhhhhhhhhhhh!
I use only registry plugin in Total Commander to edit registry..the best way because I have two sides to copy registry strings and other stuff..
Does anyone knows where to get more plugins for pocket total commander!!?!?
Thanks, that worked for me also!
It's helpful. thanks.

Directory Hotlist & German translation for Total Commander v2.52b2
I figured I will make this Thread a little bit more usefull. If you want to add your own Directory Hotlist in Total Commander you can do that by editing the following registry entries or download attached file, and import it using something like XDA_UC or a Registry Editor. Make sure the path is correct. These were made by me to fix wrong entries in the EnergyROM's up to April 12th. Also added the German translation cab for Total Commander.
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Ghisler\CECmd\Hotlist]
"MENU3"="Start Menu"
"CMD1"=\\Windows\\Autorun\\
"MENU1"="Autorun"
"CMD2"=\\Windows\\
"MENU2"="Windows"
"CMD4"="\\Program Files\\"
"MENU4"="Program Files"
"CMD3"="\\Windows\\Start Menu\\"
sorry,
you know how to backup the TotalCommander.
so you have all your favorite links and ftp etc..
after a change rom?
Hi All
I'm sure someone will be able to tell me what I am doing wrong
I have loaded Mortscript on to my E650 and have copied a script from this site and saved it as wireless.mscr
When I run the file from Windows explorer - it opens the file in Word on my E650 and does nothing.
What am I doing wrong?
Thanks
Uninstall Mortscript and then reinstall it. I guess it's a matter of file association in the registry.
mortscript
Thanks....have tried that and it still does not work.
Any other ideas?
You must run once the mortscript's executable to create the associations with the mscr files.

yep, ran the yellow file that was located in the \program files\mortscript folder. It gave me a message to say the file associations has been made yet the docs still open in Word !!
AAAARRRGGGGGGHHHHHHH !!!!!!!!!
Try deleting the key at HKCR\.mscr...then opening mortscript.exe Then try to open your script. It deletes the file assc.

Thanks...where would I find the HKCR\.mscr Does that involve editing the registry as have never done it before
Yes this is a registry key. You will need a registry editor Total commander has a free one. Then just navigate to HKey_Classes_Root(hkcr) and locate the folder .mscr open it and delete the key in there..
In order to locate and edit the registry in total commander tap the / in the top right corner of the screen right next to the .. Then double tap on the \\ then double tap on Registry then HKCR then .mscr and delete the key labeled default ,or you could just double tap on it and then in the box provided type MortScript
key
Thanks,
have done as suggested, removed the keys, have removed and reloaded Mortscript. Rebooted phone....and they still open with Word Mobile !!!
Jeez - can it be so hard !!!
When you open that key what does it say.... when you open word go to menu and options and in display....click on word files, i dont think that will work but its worth a try

Hi, Thanks for your help so far
My word seems to be an editor only - as dont have any options to select.
mort
hi
Am getting somewhere now...turns out the file was named wireless.mscr.txt so have edited it to reflect the proper extension. Will try again now
Thanks again
well that makes a lot more sense...since the actual ext that you are opening is a txt. just drop the .txt
It's probably far more simple: You script has the wrong extension. It must be .mscr, not .psw, .doc or .txt. The default Explorer hides the extension, so your file's pobably named "somescript.mscr.psw" (or *.doc) but is shown only as "somescript.mscr". Use an explorer replacement like Total Commander or Resco, or the desktop's Explorer ("My mobile device") with "Hide extension for known documents" disabled in the options, and you'll see the wrong extension.
Edit: Oops, didn't realize there's a second page...
