I was using my Universal without troubles, and was on opera(installed on phone mem). I left a webpage open and put my phone away. When I went back to it two hours later, the device was very hot, and had turned off. It refused to turn itself back on - it would hang at startup I took the memory card out, and the problem dissapeared. Now my memory card doesnt work in my universal or in a card reader. I have tried other SD cards, and there is no problem.
What do you recommend I do?

Hi,
Has anyone had this issue? When I have my Toshiba Mini SD card inserted in the phone, my phone will randomly power on when I don't want it too, like late at night, or in my pocket. After some troubleshooting, I have narrowed it down to the SD card because when I touch the card the phone turns on, and if the card isn't inserted, I don't have problems. Basically, it is as if the card is getting inserted while it's in my pocket or sitting on my night stand. I think an easy fix is to make Windows Mobile not turn the device on when a card is inserted.
Does anyone know of a registry tweak to disable power on when an SD card is inserted? Or a setting hiding somewhere in all the configuration options? It is getting very annoying, I have resorted to just leaving the SD card out now, and it's 4 GB of storage I'm loosing out on!
Any assistance would be appreciated

Hi,
yesterday evening, just when I wanted to set the alarm and go to bed, I suddenly noticed an alarming sign on top of my display. The message that came along with it was that my sd card has been removed which definitely wasn't the case. I tried several thing to let the device know that the card is still there but none of them worked:
- re-entering the card
- rebooting the device (with and without card inserted)
Afterwards I inserted an old 2gb card and the device noticed it at once. Then I tried to use the probably one with an SanDisk Card Reader on my Computer but it didn't either - it didn't show up.
Is there anyone who experienced the same or has a clue what may have happened? The phone is vodafone branded an bought in early August. I never updated the ROM nor did I try any risky tasks ;-)
Hi All,
I just turned the phone off and then on again and when it turned on I got an error message saying warning! no sd card inserted. There was one in the phone and it seemed to work fine after that. It does it nearly every time I reboot the phone.
Is this normal?
Thanks.
Well, it has happened to me a couple of times. Just remove the battery and jerk the memory card a bit and it should work again.
just make sure the microsd card is inserted properly. When you push it in it should do a click
Hey everyone, I'm trying to figure out the possible cause to my issue. I have a Samsung Galaxy S5 with stock rom. I also have a samsung class 2 micro sd card that I've had for quite some time. (I believe I got it back with my S3 or possibly before that in the Mytouch days).
I started having the issue when I would click on a photo in my gallery and it started lagging and then it wouldn't open any of them as the drive appeared to be corrupted. Then I attempted to restart then device and had no luck there as it would freeze on the carrier screen as it was turning off. So the only way to turn it off was to remove the battery. I played with this issue for a minute trying to figure out the cause and eventually device I was just going to do a master reset. However again once I went to turn the phone off to do the master reset the phone once again froze up and was unable to turn off due to being on the carrier screen. Then I just went directly into the bios of the system by holding the pwr volume and home buttons to do the reset from there. That did work and I got the phone all back up and running. However SD card was still not working So i went to go power it down but it again froze so I took the battery out and removed the sd card as well as the battery and with the sd card out everything functions fine. I plugged the SD card into my computer and it proceded to check it for errors because it couldn't find any data on the drive. It checked for the errors then after the check was done it came back with nothing. But all the data was intact. So I put it back in my phone. Everything worked fine, I was able to view my sd card files on my phone and computer, then I went to sleep. Put the phone on the charger. I woke up to my phone being off and not wanting to turn on. So again popped out the battery and was able to get it started but same issue sd card is not being seen by the device but its causing it to not turn off or restart properly.
Does anyone have any idea if this is just a corruption issue with just the card it self? Or is it possibly a virus that got into the micro SD card? Everything was working fine prior to last night. The sd card had been used in multiple phones as well as the Galaxy S5 that I've had for about a month.
Thanks

There isn't a virus. You CANNOT get viruses on android without installing an APK (99% of the time). It's most likely a bad SD card. Why are you using a class 2? I would just upgrade to a class 10 samsung / sandisk card and see if the problem still exists.
V20 H918 10j (still on Nougat)
Here's when it happened:
We were going on a road trip so I shut the phone off, took out the SD card (64 gig Sandisk), then the sim card, put the SD card back in and closed up the phone. I did not turn the phone back on. Then put the sim card in my tablet so it would have data. That worked fine.
The next day, I want the sim card back in my phone, so I do the reverse. Boot up the phone and it does not see the SD card at all. I put the SD card in the tablet and the tablet sees it just fine. Back in the phone - no go. I try a couple reboots and nothing. Boot to TWRP, it doesn't see it.
I get home and dirty flash the rom (Ovrdrive). Still doesn't see the card. I try a couple other cards (32 and 64 gig sandisk) which work just fine in other devices and the computer and the phone either doesn't see the cards or it says they are corrupt. So I format a 32 gig card (I did it a couple times in both xfat and fat32), put it in the phone and the phone says it is corrupt and needs to be formatted. So I select format. The format box is immediately at 20% and then it crashes.
I tried using ES File Explorer on the phone to format it but still a no go. I re-flashed the kernel that I have been using for the last year, that didn't help either. I used contact cleaner spray and then even used a soft small paint brush to try and clean the contacts. Nothing.
I had not put any new apps or made any changes to the phone in over a month before this happened. So.... I think somehow the pins for the card somehow got damaged or just old and something just got bent or broken or tweeked. I have another V20 that got water damaged and I looked closely at the SD card pins and compared to the current phone. I can't see any difference.
I'm posting this in case anyone else has had this problem and 1. was able to resolve it or 2. replaced the sim reader and that fixed it. Sim readers on ebay are cheap, but they have to be soldered in. Something that small is beyond my skill level.
There is a thread for the G6 that talks about this same problem. No solution. Speculation about having the card reader replaced. One person did a complete factory reset twice and that didn't work. So I'm left to believe this is a hardware issue.
Cheers.
