RE: Help wanted urgently regarding ROM's for MDA Vario
Hi,
Some1 plz help me, becuase I know to know if my T-Mobile MDA Vario (WIZA200) can support Samsung SBH-100, which I have already purchased and is on its way to be delivered in 1 - 2 days time.
Here is my device details;
ROM Version: 2.16.9.1 WWE
Rom Date: 2/6/06
Protocol Version: 413.1.03
ExtROM: 2.16.9.101
Can some1 pls reply to my post with an attachment with the latest ROM;
1) Fast
2) Supports Samsung SBH-100
3) Run Tomtom 5.21
4) Wifi and good BT stack.
I will be waiting for any ideas and quick respponses.
Bash.

there are lots of roms try xelencin's tmob 2.26, but you post comes off a bit nasty, so I'll just give you the name, and you should look around here and pick the rom that suites you best...
your wireless provider is kinda important as well, when picking a rom, if you dont want to set up, connections, sms, email, voicemail # and a few other provider specific values...
basicly my advice to you is my standard forum reply to questions like yours, READ more POST less... Nobody is gonna spoonfeed ya, if you dont have the time or inclination to learn somthing new find your provider latest update and run it.

My New MDA Compact

I just bought it last night, But I have read all this forum about upgrading the Rom and everything, Since I'm a new member. What upgrade should I do and do I have to upgrade my MDA Compact?
Thank you in advance..
well you should get the 1.11 rom if you dont have it now. and if you do just do the kksbigstarage 27 mb hack found on this forum. I did the origional anansky big storage hack and I love it. but that one has the qteck rom. I have an Imate Jam, and I really like the qteck rom. but if you want to keep your origional rom then do the kks.
oh and if you didnt know what those rom upgrades do they clear out your extended rom allowing you to use it for writable flash storage.
Curiousity
chakra, currently my
ROM version 1.06.00 WWE
Radio version 1.05.00
ExtROM version 1.06.110 WWE
So u have any idea what all this mean? am I in a latest update? Pls guide me..
Btw is there any drawback on my MDA ?
Thank you..
hartunnoo,
You ROM version 1.06.00. I would recommend upgrading to 1.11.00 WWE (World Wide English). If you upgrade, your EXT ROM and RADIO will be updated too.
Use the 'search' facility in this forum to get all the details on upgrading your ROM. If you need further info just ask. Someone here will always be available to help you. If you're not experienced with this stuff, and have any doubts about something ask first ;-)

Hi Rudegar
Thanks for the reply I also have similar original versions of the O2 Australia Firmware and am wanting to upgrade.
I use the O2 Bluetooth head set which I would also like to keep using (I've noticed a few people having issues with some upgrade versions)
Please could someone send me a link where I can download the most stable/updated ROM for my Australian XDA II.
Sorry Rudegar for asking for links but I am so confused when trying to search for this, I never know what one to use and there are so many around.
I would also like to (IF POSSIBLE) get an upgrade ROM that is automated like O2 original ROM's, one EXE that extracts and does it all for you... no commands or lots of text to read though and try and work out how to do it all....
MANY THANKS!!!!!
Hope someone can help me out!

Is this also for the Australian Version of XDA II?
i've never heard of a special australian rom
Cool, thanks for the fast reply!
Ya I think Australia uses the Asian Rom?? but not 100% about that :-(
I though you needed your countrys rom so that you can select what telco's settings to use?
I am with Telstra as my phone provider. would you mind having a quick look and seeing if you can select Telstra if you have this rom already installed on your phone :-D
Many thanks for your efforts!

Only thing different from the recent Qtek/i-Mate/... ROMs is the Extended ROM.
But it would be nice if somebody could get the cool today-plugin out of the extended O2 ROM
Hi guys,
I will have my XDA mini s next week, and I want to update it instantly.
Unfortunately, I live in Jordan(Asia) and when I attemp to download the update from o2 site, they require me to give them an o2 number, and I dont have this.
can anybody help? can anybody upload the ROM upgrade on this forum please? any ideas... Please help  :?

If you still need an O2 UK number to get the download use this one

Belongs to an O2 SIM I never activated and disgarded!
That should work for you
Cheers
Richard
Thanks for the phone number. O2 also requires one of their IMEI numbers to access this ROM update. Does anyone have one we could use, or even better, would anyone be so kind as to upload this new 2.21 ROM to the XDA server?
Best,
DrBig74
Iwill try and upload the rom,
Bear with me I can only upload at 60KB Sec,
If it does not work PM me and I will put it on a private site for you
Cheers
Richard
I don't use O2 SIM yet.I can download the update
Anybody can upload the update ?
I am uploading the ROM to my own webspace,
It will take me about 10 mins to get it on there (50Mb)
PM me and I will give you the details you need to download it, (I am not publishing the details on here as I have limited bandwidth available), but will make it available to those who need it
Cheers

Hi there,
When I upgrade my mini s ROM, and then hard-reset the device, what ROM version will be after the hard-reset? the new one or the one that came with the device???
also, is there any risk that the upgrade process will damage my device?? is it possible for me to loose the device forever??
Thanx all
This post may be of some use to you.

UK MDA Vario 2 latest roms etc?

Does anybody know the latest offical ROM etc for the T-Mobile Vario2?
Mine is off back to T-Mobile tommorow for checking out over battery life.
My current details are:
ROM Version: 1.21.110.3
ROM Date: 06/19/06
Radio Version: 1.05.05.00
Protocol Version: 32.36.7010.04H (Whatever that is!)
I would like them to update it whilst its away, but I wonder if there is a newer one I can officially have.
Cheers
Sorry to bump up; but can somebody with a new model check their ROM please? Or is there somewhere on this site that has a list of latest "approved" versions?
Cheers
Look at the wiki for shipped ROMS
http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=Hermes_Upgrades
Looks like you're not far off the latest official versions
Thanks Sparky
Well, received back today.
Repair docket said replaced mainboard/unit exchanged plus software upgraded.
The phone is new as imei number is different.
But ROMS etc are all same version.

Please try to search for your answers! Use google or the forum's search function and you'll be helped. You'll find so much information, some are for beginners, some are for advanced users. And if you find yourself left with specific questions come back and ask them. Thanks.
Sorry chaty, but I did try searching and could not find the answer, this is why I asked!
