Hi
I've got problem with the Intent Midlet manager. Opera mini used to work okay until it decided to show "an error occured" warning - now, I get this warning all the time, and no Java applet works as a result.
I decided to upgrade the Intent Midlet Manager to version 2 (as the one by default is Version 1 on the Vario II) - it installed okay, but opera mini and other applets refuse to instal properly.
Could you tell me how I can uninstall the original Midlet manager that installed automatically, and install Version 2?
The file the shortcut refers to is read-only, so it can't deleted manaually.
Cheers

Hey everyone I got this 8525 from a friend he switched over to the Iphone for whatever reason anyways I work on an application that is java based. I have Pimp my Black v0.1 and HTweakc 2.1 on this phone. I went and download to my phone our application its a normal install wizard but when i try to run it I get that error "is not a valid Pocket PC application" I have turned on the Security Tweaks to allow non-certified applications. is there another application I can install to the phone that will allow me to run this java program?
if you make it jad extention i guess you can run it in a midlet manager
Tried installing TouchFlo - Cube - CubeSettings. At end of install got message: "Installation was unsuccessful. The program or setting cannot be installed because it does not have sufficient system permissions." I tried both connected to and disconnected from WMDC and a soft reset. I also tried installing both to device and storage card. Any ideas?
my friend you have to kill the biotouch.exe process. Use task manager with process view and stop capabilities.
I appreciate the help. I used Pocket Controller Pro to kill the biotouch process. Refreshed to make sure biotouch no longer on process list. Unfortunately same problem on installation. I did upgrade to the Black Widow WM 6.1 ROM FWIW.
Recently installed Schap's 3.60 ROM on my AT&T8525. I also installed Tao's Java Midlet Manager. I then downloaded the .jad file for Opera mini. I ran it, it asks if I want to install this Midlet. I click yes, it runs through the progress bar and installs. Mini is now in my Midlet manager. However, when I click on Mini, it simply says Failed to run the Midlet.
I attempted to search the forums, but with it using google, it comes up with super old threads about past versions of mini/java. I'm sure this problem has been asked before. If someone could point me to an applicable thread, I'd much appreciate it.
Thanks!

As my MDA (HTC Wizard) stopped working (looking for a new phone to replace it--perhaps the IPAQ 910), in the meantime I've gone back to my prior phone, the Audiovox SMT-5600, which is the HTC Typhoon, running WM 2003 Smartphone. I'm on the T-Mobile (USA) network.
So, until I get a new phone, I'm trying to configure my Typhoon to work better for me
The SMT-5600 comes with the Tao Intent JVM. I was able to install the new Opera Mini with it. However, I'm not able to do with it any of the hacks I've read about here--like making a shortcut to go right to OM (without the Java screen first), and to eliminate the screen asking permission to connect to the internet. (I guess most of those hacks are for JBED.)
Also, I cannot install either the Gmail app, or the Google Maps (Java version) with the TAO JVM. When I go to the m.google.com site, and download the gmaps.jad, i end up getting an error message from Tao, about not being able to install it. (OT-I also tried installing the WM version of Google Maps, and that wouldn't install on the SMT-5600 either. Perhaps it is only for WM5 and later.)
Anyhow, I am wondering if any alternative JVMs (to the TAO) exist, that will work on this phone? (Menneisys, are you reading?) I tried a few JBED versions downloaded from this site, and haven't yet found one that will install on the Typhoon.
I do have the IBM J9 installed, from years ago, when I originally used the phone. But I have not been able to get it to work successfully. (I have it installed to storage card, and don't know if that is a problem. It is large though, and no room to install in internal memory.)
Anyhow, any JBED versions that will work on this phone (with WM2003), or any that would work better than the TAO?
Hello;
I am developing a java based application to work on mobile phones. HTC p4350 is one of the phones we want the app to work on.
Our application runs on various other phone models, but when i want to install the midlet on intent midlet manager, it raises error : midlet install unsuccessful. Another midlet manager (IBM J9) is installed on HTC P4350 and the application works fine.
Our application generates problems only on HTC P4350 and intent midlet manager. And the error message gives us no clues.
Does anybody have any idea about why this problem occurs and how this problem can be solved?
