Just thought I'd share some looping ringtones I've created. Each has a .reg file to enable you to simply enable each tone without having to modify the registry each time to allow looping.
Simply click on a .reg file and the ringtone will be added as the current tone with looping enabled.
You will need Resco Explorer or another program that allows importing of .reg files to use the registry hacks.
Copy the "Ringtones" directory from the zip file to your Storage Card.

Reg hacks do not work
I loved your ringtones,
but your reg hacks do not work.
I changed alarms & notifications before I used your rings.
I need to go to "Add ring tone" in order to insert your rings.
When I use the reg hack nothing happens and I get "Bass" ringtone as a default (In "phone")
Can you help me?

Hallo, i installed SkTools and Changed in the SystemTweaks Window the "Phone ring sound files" Path. The default was "\Windows\" but now i can only create folders with "...\rings\" , like "\windows\rings\" or just "\rings" .
The problem is i can't choose a incomming call ringtone.
Could anybody tell me the RegPath, that i can fix the problem?
Thanks a lot!!!
it here:
HKCU\ControlPanel\SoundCategories\Ring\Directory
Hey,
is there any chance to change the ringe tone directory? I already read some threads. But changing directory in regedit HKCU\controlpanel\soundcategories\ring did not work
I aslo read that i might not be possible to change rings directory to SD-Card because of insufficient access speed to card... Is that right?
Thanks for update...
Anybody?
Thx...

What's the purpose of changing the default ringtones directory? You can still put your ringtones wherever you like and select them with File Explorer....
I have set in registry to point to my storage card.
HKCU\ControlPanel\SoundCategories\Ring
Directory = \Storage Card\Rings
where "Rings" is a sub folder inside my Storage Card.

I have tried to make the change but it seems not to work.
Some suggestion?
Thanks

yes,he can do this by file explorer, but when i select an mp3(for ex.) it copy that to rom of device, (without MMC it will work)...this will populate the memory
Well, it seems that WM6 can see ringtones in root of storage card so there's no need for any registry tricks (it doesn't work either) just copy all your ringtones there and select it from Sound&Notification option in Settings...
I'd advise not putting ringtones into a Storage Card. Most of the time it will be OK, but sometimes, the initialisation time of the card will mean the phone won't ring till after the call gets transferred to VM.
MP3 and WMA ringtones need the initialise the WMP kernel to play, which adds to the time taken to activate.
Just copy the ringtone you need to \Storage Card\My Documents
works fine to my wm6.
thanks.
You can also create a folder on the storage card called 'My Ringtones' and it works
10X maxxtech,
its work!
The other trick is to shorten the mp3 down to about 15 to 20 seconds of the actual part of the song etc you want.
This keeps the file size right down.
sorry to bring back a really old thread, but i figured its better than creating a new one...
I havea question, I added ringers of *.wma's to my \windows directory, but when I go to Sounds & Notifications, I dont see any of my added ringtones, am I doing something wrong here?
In the Registry, the location for rings states the "\Windows\" directory...
nobody!?!?!
sorry, double post!

Good suggestion.
Thankx
I've seen discussions about changing the ringtone folder, but none that tell how to change the folder the alarm clock looks for .wav files. It's /windows by default, but if it could be on the storage card, it would save space... any ideas?
thanks.

REGISTRY settings:
HKLM/Software/Microsoft/Clock
Try to change the AlarmSnd under subkey 0 to a wav file on your SD card (type the whole path in that one) maybe it works ...
problem is that when in off mode the sd interface is shut down and is not enabled to play the sound when phone ring or alarm sound

Hi.
I've got a little problem with my own ringtones. If I copy a MP3 to my device an say "copy to ringtone folder" I don't get any sound out of my phone.
If I delete the MP3's and the file from my Ringtone folder it works again.
Are there any restritions with this roms (bitrate, mono, fileformat e.g.)?
Does anybody else has this problem? And how can I fix it if I want my own ringtones?
Cheers
Stefan
