Pocket Skype with video cam on TyTN? - 8525, TyTN, MDA Vario II, JasJam General

Has anyone been able to get front camera on TyTN working with Pocket Skype?
Thanks!

Does pocketskype even support video calls? (regardless of which cam it uses)

I guess that's why I'm asking. I can't find any Pocket Skype options that seem to connect to a video cam so it probably doesn't -- went on the Skype site but there's not much info about Pocket Skype. And yet in the setup options for Pocket Skype there is a choice of male or female image (among others) -- probably like an IM, just has bandwidth to project a single image.

There's no Pocket Skype including video around the corner. It might come but not in the near future.
Cheers,
StonyA

Any video conferencing / video chat software available??

is there any software available for the m5000/universal that lets you use the in-built video camera over an internet connection to see other m5000 users? like a video version of Skype??
I am very interested as well in a videochat app that uses Wifi. Any news on this?
I'm also curious, why does MSN Messenger and Skype for Pocket PC not utilise at least Audio, let alone video!?
I've not found any software yet. microsoft portrait came close but didn't allow you to use the m5000's built in camera.
ideally, msn messenger or skype is the way forward. from a business point of view video chat over the internet would be a big advantage.
Definitely! What a great industry in which to hacve the ability to program, if I were able to develop apps for the Pocket PC I'd be developing this right now ;o)

Messenger for Linux/WM5/WM6... (Video-Conferencing, voice calls)

I Wonder if there is any Messenger softwares for Linux/WM5/WM6 and can do voice calls/Video-Conferencing using the build in Video cam as a web cam without using the 3G Video Call ?
I mean like doing Video call with yahoo, and MSN, but use build in Video cam as web cam? Because I think it's such a waste to have a Video cam on the Universal but not be able to use it as a web Cam doesn't matter about FPS though, at least get to use it....

P.S Somehow I couldn't find where I posted this same topic earlier.... so I post again, maybe my connection is not stable

Live streaming FROM Hermes ??

OK, I did search thru Google & didn't see any thread about live streaming from Hermes( besides this ones & alike: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=320573 , http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=288857 )
Is there any application out there to use Hermes as live video cam to stream video(using 3G/Wi-Fi) directly from Hermes itself without using a PC? Basically u'd be able to 'telecast' in real time... I guess, then it'll need something like pocket Y! msngr(if there's any, "PPC-Skype" don't have any options to carry video) or similar to carry live video streaming out...
Does Windows Live for WM6 have an option to carry vids?
Any thoughts/help is highly appreciated
You mean 2 people w/ Hermes on a video chat? That would be interesting, isnt that what the video dialer is for? I want to know if something like this works..
The Hermes doesn't have anything approaching sufficient hardware to be able to capture AND encode AND broadcast in realtime, or even anything approaching that... The only reason things like CoolCamera work is because the PC's doing half the work, the phone's just passing a raw stream via its AS connection.
Plus, with the majority of 3G networks in the world today, you'd have to connect the device to some kind of third-party broadcasting node, because nearly all 3G networks' connections to the web are via a single (or single block) of IP addresses, so all devices coming from the 3G network are effectively NATted. I guess you could audio stream, because Skype (sorta) works, but you'd probably need to write software - something like a bespoke encoder for Windows Media Services, which could connect to a WMS streaming server and do audio only. There's no way I could see the Hermes doing video, even with divine intervention!

They are in the midst of updating their website.
This produces very so-so video, but does work.
Good luck

Comvu.com sounds interesting...
A Q: I understand that there's a software to install on PPC but how someone on a PC (on other end) watch the particular live stream from Comvu servers?
Thanx again pal.

WLAN-Videocalls with Xperia using Skype or similar

Hi Folks,
there would be much fun in making videocalls with the build-in camera from the Xperia! Thinking of walking around in the wlan area and doing what a video/wlan capable device should do.
But.... it´s not that easy, of course.
Here is what I could do so far:
Using Xperia as a wlan-webcam @320x240 with build-in microphone (Program: "WebCamera Plus")
walking around in wlan-zone, transmitting life video and sound to my pc
this way making videocalls, using Skype on my PC with the Xperia as a video-source.
And here is what I could not do (so far):
watching life video of my Skype-partner on the Xperia (but works on PC)
hear any sound of myself while making the videocall. My Skype-partner can hear me, and I can hear him on my PC only.
Further steps:
transmitting sound from Skype-Partner via PC to Xperia (Bluetooth only 10meters, wlan would be better)
higher resolution of the video. The Xperia X1i can do 640x480, but the "Webcamera Plus" software won´t do
So, all in all, its a oneway solution from the Xperia to my PC which is pretty ok. Of course, a software
to make videocalls from the Xperia without needing the PC as a in-between-transceiver would be VERY NICE
I hope to wake up the deep-sleepers @ Skype, please give us a software
that can do what hardware of most PPC devices are capable to do since years
Do you know Fring? They allready support Skype Voice. Maybe they are going to implent video too..
According to near-enough everywhere, the only app for PocketPC that can do video calls is Microsoft Portrait. However, it can only use the rear (main) camera - completely defeating the point.
An app like Troca2 but for the cams would be ideal to sort this out.
I also would like to use X1 as a webcam for skype
I downloaded Webcam Plus but Skype does not recognize X1 as a video-device.
Mobiola Webcam did not work either
any ideas?
afaik its not possible to use the front camera for any reason. i thinks its just not possible sorry guys^^

How i can install skype on xperia x1 as i m new user and i could'nt download skype pannel kindly provide me the cab file so that i may download it and use it. thanks
vzomobile is a great app, but the free version allows only one minute video. people can call you from any web browser with adobe flash
is there a solution for video calling with skype on xperia x1?
i just can use it as normal chat messenger...

using TD2 as a webcam

Hi guys
do you know if is it possible to use the TD2 as a webcam plugged in a PC?
Do you know how to do video calls with skype installed on the phone?
thanks
Yes it is possible to use your TD2 as a web cam you will need "mobiola webcamera 3.1.8" this program need to be install on pc and your mobile. I did check that, for me works perfect. About skype i don`t think you can use video calls on skype installed on your mobile.
Doesn't work with Windows Vista. Handy sais PC Server is not compatible. Any idea ?
I have a HTC Touch Diamond 2!

Tinycam
Hi,
there is a small program called Tinycam. It will give you video but no audio. Just install and direct any browser to the IP number shown in the phone display. Only requires install on the phone.
Works great for me
