I was tired of making shortcuts by manual editing, so I made an editor for them.

Is it possible to launch a program from a shortcut with an additional parameter?
E.g. "\Program Files\OpenVPN.exe client.ovpn"
If yes, how to create such a shortcut? I noticed WM shortcuts include a number and are different from Windows shortcuts.
Thx!
EDIT: just found the solution here: http://blogs.msdn.com/mikehall/archive/2005/08/22/454922.aspx
One minor point: the system actually disregards the number of characters completely so you do not really have to count them.
If you insist on a proper shortcut and are making it on the device I found that the edit feature in Total Commander is grate for this purpose as it has a letter count and saves in plain text format.
Nice tip. I found a PPC proggy called vxShortCut which can do it as well (http://www.cambridgevx.comhttp://www.cam.com/windowsce.html)
They have a nice bunch of other useful tools as well.
Is anyone aware of a method for creating shortcuts to specific websites to place either in the Start menu or on the Today screen?
I'm a converted Palm user, & there was a great application for this purpose called Sharklinks...
This can be done with Wisbar Desktop by creating a button on the desktop and making the path your url. This may be a little overkil, but it is the only way I am aware to do this. See this site for information on Wisbar Desktop (it is $10):

if you want to create a shortcut to a url then the easiest way is to save the page in favourites and then use a decent file browser such as resco or gsfinder to create a shortcut to the start menu.
if you then use cLaunch as a today plugin you can also add the url frrom your favourites menu to the today screen. you can even change the icom if you wish to something more memorable - but it needs to be a bitmap.
Hello,
I've been searching all day for any information on how to change the icons for various applications. I'm somewhat at a dead-end.
I've read that to change application icons you have to edit the .lnk file. However, I've discovered that applications seem to have multiple .lnk files associated with them, for example; my 1-calclite.exe program has a .lnk file in both \windows\ and in \windows\start menu. Which of these am I supposed to edit to change the icon throughout the system?
Also, the only information I've seen to edit states that you add a comma and then the name of the .dll to use as the icon. This, needless to say, is a bit confusing. I have a whole rack of .png files that I'd like to use as icons (I can easily convert them to .ico if needed) that I would like to associate with programs. Do I need to somehow compress them into a .dll file, or can I just store them into a directory (say, \my documents\icons) and just point the .lnk file to there?
Alternatively, is there any program (free or otherwise) which simplifies this whole process in a GUI?
Thanks for any help you all can give!
I've done some extensive searching for this one and come up with nothing...
I've found the path to start menu icons on a registry editor, which leads to a .qtc file on HTC-added applications but this field is blank when I highlight a program's IconPath for any applications I have added, eg. Skype, Facebook etc.
How do I go about changing any of the start menu icons to files of my choosing? eg. to some of the brilliant files from iREFLECT to name but one pack.
YOu can change the menu facelift by refering to tweak guide fROM tOPAZ Tweak page
and lok for TF3D Start Menu option. It is a bit manual & you need to get into registry editor to do that.
I have looked so if I have missed this one please tell me.
I can't find how to change default folder locations for documents I make. I have used chome configurator to make my own shortcuts bar for my most used progs. I use one note for notes, and a to do list, etc. If I look for options about where to save the docs I create I find nothing to alter the defaults.
I have installed resco reg editor and wondered where I make the changes in the registry to alter the defaults for notes and other stuff to the storage card folders. Shame microsoft saw fit to exclude the choice for us mere mortals. What about if I need to restore a backup.
Anyone please.
