hi sorry if this is not in the right area on this site. but i have never used a forum befor.
i have just brought a o2 xda exec
i have turned on o2 active... how do i turn it off,
thanks
So welcome to the Forum.
First of all, if you excpet usefull answers you should select the right part of the forum to get answers. Since you have not an Wallaby device, but an O2 xda exec you shouldn´t post it in the Wallaby part.
Therefore i moved it on the correct section

vipergsxr: apologies for being a further PITA, but you are likely to only get responses to your question if you change the title of the thread to something descriptive like
"Is it true that every closed n-manifold which is homotopy equivalent to the n-sphere is homeomorphic to the n-sphere?"

upgrading
People don't really like to provide answers on this forum. It must be an european thing. I'm a new member and it took me days to find this link. You can go there and cook your own wm2003 rom. It can even be an exe file. The link is:
http://lumpistefan.dyndns.org/
Contact me if it doesn't work and I'll send you mine. It works great and it simply upgraded me to wm2003.

I think you must be referring to another forum, take a look at how many posts I have beside my name and look at others who also have many hundreds, this is the most helpful forum I have ever seen anywhere. Why it took you days to find the address to the rom kitchen is a reflection on your inability to search the forum rather than reluctance of others to reply.

i think that the more people hang out in the forum the more fustrated they get posting the same asnwer X times a day
at times people ask a question which is answered in the post right under their post
if search dont work for people who want
1. to get a kitchen url
2. a howto to flash the device using xdatools
then there is something wrong with search on other computers them mine
also many answers are given on the front page of this site
the fustration of being asked the same question over and over again
in the end make the users
1 ignor the question
2 respond rudely
3 stop reading the forum altogether
this is a thing i've notised in forums all over
so i would not asume it a european rudeness issue

What's wrong with providing a link to a good starting ground, as I have in my previous post? Is that not an 'answer' in your books? :?:
I came to this site to learn how to flash my XDA to WM2003.. I have less than 10 posts, yet none of them asked "how to flash?" I simply utilized the search feature and was able to find everything that I wanted to know, and more... much more...
No Offense
I apologize if I've offended anyone. It was simply out of frustration. I was tired of people reffering me to a search page that always returned about 150 posts. It is probably my lack of searching ability. I've used other forums and I know people get tired of answering the same questions. Links to the answers would suffice instead of referals to the search page. My apologies once again since my SX56 would be a paperweight if not for this forum. You guys are simply geniuses.

Re: upgrading
Regarding the recent update to WM2003.
Do you find that your XDA now turns itself to ON every now and then without any prompting? (This occurs when you go in and out of coverage areas.) I found this to happen with every version of WM2003 that I could put together and burn. I like to keep the screen and unit on for a while when I use it and don't have my power usage settings set conservatively. But when WM2003 is on it, it will eat up my battery super fast. I may be driving in my car and have it dash mounted (but without power assist) and watch it turn on every 3 to 4 minutes as I go along. This can also occur when just sitting in one spot if the coverage fluctuates too much the WM2003 turns itself ON without intervention.
Does anyone have a solution or fix for this? Is this happening to anyone else? WM2003  :? :x
It happens to me evrytime (twice a day) when I access metro.
This "feature" really sucks...
The worst thing is that I couldn't do anything with the registry entry like one discussed here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=9412 :?

None taken, at least not here All I'm saying is that the search feature works wonders... yes you may get 150 results, but take an extra 5, 10 mins to sift through them and you'll usually find what you're looking for. I usually focus on the posts with higher number of replies...

I appreciate you're new here and we welcome newcomers, but please do not give new threads titles like "Please read". Always give a brief/concise indication of the problem - this helps when people are doing searches later. Also all threads have equal priority and if we think we can help by looking at the thread title then we will open it, so pleading does not encourage us to look. In fact it can turn some folks off.
This forum has two search facilities one on the brown bar near the top of the page and a different type in the Google Search sticky post.
Here endeth the lesson
Go forth read, learn and enjoy.
Mike
Thanks for the lecture Mike ....well understood.
Can I please get an answer now?... I have a feeling it can be done I just want to know for sure.
Thanks ya'll
dude, if you click the word "here" in my post it will take you to the answer. also, if you click on the secret in my signature it will take you to the same answer. we all try to be self-sufficient around here, so Im not trying to be a jerk. if we spoon feed you the easy stuff you will never develop into the 'contributing' member that we all hope to be around here.
Apparently Mike's lecture wasn't 'well understood' because if it was then a very simple search would have provided you with all the answers you need.
So in answer to your question - yes you can.
Now I know your next question is going to be 'How' - the answer to that one is mrvanx's guide.
We've all been guilty of being new and also of flaming noobs, but when you've read a few threads you'll realise everyone's frustration at seeing this type of question again and again and again..... Also, I know the XDA search function isn't always good, but just by reading Mike's sticky, third from the top on this page, you'd have found a better way of searching.
Go on, don't be shy, and try it now http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=298893 it's amazing what you can find...

I know that you can get the HTC download original of the new WM6 for the Athena/Ameo/Advantage. I tried to but it keeps asking me for my IEMI number. I put it in and it saids go to your network provider!! The [email protected]@ts at T-Mobile are not going to do this upgrade as they feel the money provided would be for better use on new projects. I want to get the new version but not a made up one even though i have tried the ones on here and they work very well. But i would like a copy of the all singing all dancing version if someone has this???

Ooh err Missus!
The problem with search is that you have to be quite precise to get the results. I did actually use the search facility, but can you describe to me exactly what to search for in this case?
And what exactly do you mean when you say "All your questions are answered many times before?"
Seems to me like you should stay off help forums if you don't want to give help.

:s I had all the same questions, took some time to read and voila there were my answers... Lazy people like you clutter up forums like this so it's harder to find posts with "real" content...
And yes I want to give help to anyone but not if the answers are even mentioned in sticky posts..
Another thing, if you have problems to find answers to such simple questions why are you even going to flash your device?? What if it goes wrong?
(I don't want to bash you or anything like that, but in my opinion there are to many people posting questions without RTFF)
Anyone have the today screen plugins from the Samsung i780 so I can install on my device? Thank you.
good question

There is nothing wrong with being helpful. But it is how you help. When you help in this kind of a situation it only confirms in a persons mind that all they need to do is ask!! And on this forum that wrong. Here the forum rules cleary state to search first. They are outlined in great detail. So giving answers on redunt threads started like these only goes to encourage that kind of behaviour. Did you think that if goofeyass had the cab then he must have gotten it somewhere as well?? Then this guy can search and locate it.

@Curious George: Every single post I have seen of yours in the past few days seems to be *****ing about new threads etc. Why? It's been going on for ages and it's not going to stop, especially with such a crude attitude to it, so why bother annoying people? It might increase your post count but it's incredibly annoying for everyone!
Let the mods do their job.
GEORGE! A great way to control a forum is to let the moderators do they job. If disagreed the topic would be locked, or better: deleted. The forum rules clearly state: Only post here if you are a developer/resource etc... If you go hard into the rules then you just broke them as well. Until a moderator speaks we should be nice. I'm sure you are nice as well but you just dont sound like that. A good community way of saying what you just did is:
"Here is your file. Next time, please take the time to search thus NOT spamming the forum with useless threads."
And see: now even I broke the forum rule ;P
Part from this: The forum search function here sux bigtime and its a bottleneck to this great place. Atleast, I think we both can agree to that.
Moderators: Shall you just lock this nonsense?
some people take the internet too serious
Here is some screens of the plugin in action.
please follow the rules or the thread will be moderated
