When I receive a call, voice command announces it as it should, lowering the ringtone volume to announce over the top of it, problem is, it's reducing the volume too much, and I can't hear it speaking...
Does anyone know a way of:
a. Preventing voice command from lowering the volume at all?
b. Increasing the gain on voice command's announcements?
Any and all help is appreciated, thanks.
hah, when i used MS voice command my problem was that it didn't lower the ringtone enough.
I have no clue how to do what ur asking for, after a while i just turned my ringtone off and just had the announce of the name and number.
I got this CAB file from another post.
It did the trick for me.
Hi,
Start Menu->Settings->Voice Command
Choose Phone, then click Options, Remove checkbox to 'announce incoming calls'. Now your ringtone will rin normally.

The problem is that I want the nice lady to announce the name of my caller, and I want the phone to play the ringtone I have set

What does this cab file do? is it modification to Voice command, or is a simple registry hack?
Hello
Use any registry editor like resco and do the following
Goto current user
Then control panel
Then sound categories
Then voicecommand1
And change the atenuationcategory from 3 to 1
That will do the thing. The lady will be louder.
Theses suggestions seem to make little or no difference, the only change seems to be that the music isn't turned down as much.
I've tried manually making the changes, and running/instaling the cab file "MPIIIMan" presented me with.
Is there any way I can physically change the program to increase the gain? I don't mind if I have to dissassemble code or anything to make changes, but i'd like to get it sorted...
I'd use cyberon, but I can't find ANY working links for it on either Limewire, IRC, or any websites, either the full program or a demo... Has it dissappeared from existance???

This worked for me. Made the lady louder - ringtone volume remained the same. Thanks.
BTW, I noticed there's another setting in that registry key called "initvol" and it's said to 5. My best guess would be initial volume? Anyone try playing with that to see what that does?

Can you explain exactly what htis cab does, or maybe link us to its original post?
I got this cab file from another post.
You would have just as much luck finding it as I would.
I believe it's just a registry edit

Hi,
After an installation/un-installation of a 3rd party ringtone software, my Hermes couldn't reflect the change of the ringtone in the registry (I guess) altough I had changed it at the Setting.
Following is the outcome of the registry after I changed the ringtone setting at Setting to Trout.wma. However it still default back to Windows Default.wav when I receive call, sigh. Anyone can point out what other registry entries I need to check and modify ? Thanks.
And I have de-associate all sound file to Resco Audio recorder too.
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ControlPanel\Sounds\RoamingRing0]

"Sound"="\\Storage Card\\My Documents\\Trout.wma"
"Script"="av0pw3r"
"SavedSound"="\\Storage Card\\My Documents\\Super Star.mp3"

Can someone pls post your device registry with keyword ringtone, like to make some comparison. thx

Not sure if that helps. Do you have the standard rings on sd card?

Hi Mike,
Thanks for your help ! it is working now. I've deleted both the registry entries of RoamingRing0 and KnownCallerRing0
Yes, i moved all the standard rings to the sd card to save some spaces
Again, thanks for your reply and help, really appreciate.

Great stuff
Mike
im sorry i have to revive this thread, but upon my searching for my problem this is the thread that most assisted me yet solved my problem
ive had the same problem as sunlip and it sucks that i set a ringtone stored in my main memory and then i notice 3 or 4 missd calls because the phones reverted to vibrate while on loud...
whenever i set an mp3 to be my ringtone, itll copy to the window\rings\
and itll b fine the first 2 or 3 times i test it, then randomly later my phone will rring and have the alouette.mid
it may have been a program i installed and uninstalled that messd up these settings but its been a more recent issue and its annoying as hell
i tried the solutions shown in this thread and its only a momentary fix
my settings are as follows
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ControlPanel\Sounds\RoamingRing0 ]
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ControlPanel\Sounds\KnownCallerR ing0]
Having set mine to mayor.mp3 i have:
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ControlPanel\Sounds\RingTone0]
"Sound"="\my documents\alouette.mid"
"Script"="apw3r"
"SavedSound"="\windows\rings\mayor.mp3"
"Category"="Ring"
and i understand that
"Sound"="\my documents\alouette.mid"
should be
"Sound"="\windows\rings\mayor.mp3"
and that works n everything and gets me excited but then randomly itll b resetted the settings shown above..
another wierd thing ive found is that under
start->settings->phone->
ring type: Ring
ring tone: Alouette
keypad: short tones
and dropping the ring tone dropbox i have:
alouette
ding
dogbark
fantasy .wma
fantasy .wma
jig .wma
jig .wma
mystic .wma
mystic .wma
oddphone .wma
oddphone .wma
ringer .wma
ringer .wma
roaringguitar .wma
roaringguitar .wma
terrestrial .wma
terrestrial .wma
windows default .wma
windows default .wma
and yes the doubled ones doubled and the space before the .wma as well. wierd
some registry setting must be messd up but i need assistance
thanks in advance, help needed =)
trinic101, I have THE SAME issue, have you found any solution other than HR?
Thanks for any help!
Thanks guys for information.
Can anyone send me the fantasy .wma ringtone again.
Seem like when upgraded to WM6.0 from WM5.0 the default selected ringtones is lost. Thanks in advance.
When I try to use the sound equalizer it just says I have to connect a headset - but I have a BT headset connected!!!
Is there any registry hack to make it work with BT Headsets and not just usb ones?
Does anyone else have this problem?
We talk about HTC Audiobooster?
It only works with the HTC Kabel Headset! It doesnt work with Blue Tooth devices :->

Well that sucks!
I've had the same problem - very irritating.
however, look up and download SRS WOW HD - install, reboot the phone.
The Audio Booster disappears from the HTC Music Player, and you have a settings option for the SRS WOW HD. It does take a bit of processor time, and a fair bit of tweaking of its options, but it does make the Dual sound quite nice.
Shame about the occasional "break" in the music though.
THis Programm work ONLY with the Kabel Headset!!!

Does SRS WOW HD work with bluetooth headsets?
Yes it does, but you need Edit your Registry, too support your Blue Tooth driver.
Here a Copy from a Thread about this task:
That worked through BT headset it is necessary to copy all parameters from [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Drivers\BuiltIn\Wave Dev] in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Drivers\BuiltIn\BtA2dpSnd
Except for value of parameter "OldDriver", he should be such, as was "DLL"
For example:
Before
"DLL" = "bta2dp.dll"
After
"DLL" = "WOWHD_ARM_WCE_PPC2005_Driver.dll"
"OldDriver" = "bta2dp.dll"

To have real stereo with your bluetooth stereo headphone you have to change the following registry key:
HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Bluetooth\A2DP\Settings
Change the UseJointStereo value 1 to 0.
The value 1 means dual mono, value 0 means stereo
Importent ... befor you edit ... you must 100% know what is your device blue tooth driver!!! different HTC Device ... different Drivers!
Thanks alot that worked great!

That happened to me too, needed a pesky hard reset. Can anyone explain the reg changes again?
this are the reg changes and it works! if its a big problem for the most guys, i can provide a modded version for Qualcomm Devices. i need only few min. to edit.
I did a hard reset to get my phone working again. I don't know what it was that stopped the sound on my phone but I just have to make do with standard instead
Stopped? You mean the little breaks?
Oh ... this isnt a SRS WOW problem! it is possible you tweak your device with some registry settings? Breaks in the Audiostream have many reasons. the most are ...
Buffer in the Blue Tooth Stack are to high
Buffer in the File System are to high and the MicroSD Card go in the deep power down mode (this problem can you have, if you here a very large file and a big part can stay in your ram!)
you switch to the next track (this is the most reason)
process task doesnt become enough resources (possible ... )
generel powermanagment problems
all this bracks are only timing problems of many parts in your device!!!
No, not the pauses issue that others have referred to - after installing SRS WOW and making the registry changes I had no sound at all during phone calls. Music worked fine but when I called someone or when they called me then I couldn't hear them and they couldn't hear me.
I had to hard reset to fix the problem.
/Hass
Did anybody succeeded with xt7500 + srs wow over bluetooth ?
at least tried myself and at the moment no progress.
Before reg keys copy BT worked well and connected with
headset. After keys copy ppc BT menu indicted that wireless stereo are'nt
avaliable.
Is it nescessary copy over also same named settings ? example
both folders have before copy same named settings, like index, etc.
Good comments appreciated.

If you added bluetooth support to SRS and lost sound (or downloaded a cab with bluetooth support builtin) you need to follow the earlier instruction warnings, namely:
Preserve your Index, Prefix, and OldDriver settings so that they match what was previously specified in your BTA2DPSND registry folder (with the contents of olddriver matching whatever was in driver).
I have tried to search but no avail, Can someone PLEASE guide me / Navigate me about how can I increase the earpiece sound.
I am using VOIP on my Diamond, the problem is that I have to plug the earpiece to listen the next person, even though the incoming voice is still soo low, I have read some time ago on this same forum that you can increase the earpiece sound strength through the registry, BUT HOW (what key, where).
I have tried the buit-in equalizer software but that seems to only work with songs not for telephone conversation.
Any help please

Sid
hi sidd u need to go to HKCU-control panel-sound categories- in call. set initial volume to 4.......
Hi there,
I would also like to have higher volume using earpiece - although up to now I thought pressing VolUp while in call was the max one could get...
Do you have more infos about these reg-settings? In SoundCategories I have:
InCall -> InitVol = 2
InCall2 -> InitVol = 5
InCall3 -> InitVol = 4
thx
hey let those values stay the same just change in call.... dont forget to soft reset....

Is there a special version of this lite csv for diamond, or is it cross compatible with all recent devices? I'm new to Diamond.
for some reason wheni installed that audiopara file my sound went way down. i could hear on the phone ok but anything else that used the speaker wouldnt work (ie: wmplayer) i have the htc touch pro from alltel
This solution increases:
MICROPHONE VOLUME
IN-CALL VOLUME
SPEAKER VOLUME
RINGTONE VOLUME
MUSIC PLAYER VOLUME
and has been tested and working 100%
I've decided to share a ONCE-AND-FOR-ALL solution for all the X2 users and the general population of windows mobile users.
Here's the solution:
First, you need totalcommander. Google it.
1) Open TotalCommander
2) Go to ftp\\registry\HKCU
3) Change ALL the following to the value specified:
HKCU/Control Panel\Phone\vol\65535 (General volume of the X2 including microphone input!)
HKCU/ControlPanel/SoundCategories/InCall/Initvol\5
HKCU/ControlPanel/SoundCategories/Ring/5
HKCU/ControlPanel/SoundCategories/System/5
HKCU/ControlPanel/SoundCategories/Attentuation\All to 5
HKCU/ControlPanel/SoundCategories/InCall/InitVol\5
HKCU/ControlPanel/SoundCategories/Ring/InitVol\5
4) Soft-reset
5) Press the volume up key and set it to the 5th indicator (Max)
6) Press volume up key 1 more time, and you will hear an additional beep 200% louder and the indicator marker remains the same at the 5th marker on the top. This means you have sucessfully tweaked your volume!
6) Do step 5 again with in-call and congrats!
Enjoy your beloved X2 =)
I am satisfied with the default volume levels and will leave it as is.
Do note people, increasing output levels beyond the specified levels can damage your speakers!
sounds good. is it possible for someone to make a registry file of this? so we can just run it and it does it all for us noobs lol. (like the sd card fix)
although im not sure i need to increase the microphone input level, is it possible to leave that out.

I've been dealing with low volume issue of WM since my O2 atom but not for my Samsung Valencia (c6625), so I just copied all samsung's ringtones and alarms from my valencia and use it in my X2, hahaha . they are sound nicer and louder! SE could have done much much better providing us lots of (nice and loud) ringtones just like samsung did.
i have found a program that increases your volume
Many Many Many thanks to HS_LuKa_ i want to tell that the application is perfect and sound is very loud and if u receive error when run it first time just restart the phone ,
