hi i have a mda compact 2 that i need to do a full hardware reset as it is playing up like mad and now my friend thought it would be funny to set the security of the phone to on problem is i cant remeber what i set the password to as i use randem password
please any help would be nice just the hardware rest should do or i will have to do a brute force

I have a similar problems to yours in that i have forgotten my password for the MDA compact 2 phone. You say you have solved the problem.
Can you please help and say how you did it.

hold down the two side buttons, camera and memo, then tap the reset button at the bottom with the stylus, keep holding the 2 buttons until display asks to push green to hard reset.

Please could you tell me exactely which 2 keys these are? I have found the reset but as soon as I push it my phone restarts.

it's really hard to guess which two they are, charmer has completely 3 side buttons, from which one is power )

Hold the two action buttons
(The one's that shows on the screen) and press the reset button on the with your Stylis in your mouth

Push the bottom button and quickly hold the Power button
If that doesn't work, try the other buttons. I think it is the power button.
It will setup and runs nicely as a phone. No worries.

Its the power button. Hold your power button and soft-rest your device for a Hard reset. Yu will then be prompted with a screen saying your device will be customized automatically in 3secs. If you want to save space, skip that by a soft-reset again.

Sorry I know its a silly question and there is alot information available if I do search, which I have done but Im having a problem here!
I'm trying to hard reset my mda compact ii, by pressing the voice recorder and camera button and then pushing in the reset button but soon as it press and hold the reset button the fone just soft resets instead of popping up any other message.
This is getting really annoying, could somebody please help me out here.

Hey guys
I recently installed phone pad international on my phone. It worked fine at first then for some reason the T9 wouldn't spell english words correctly. I decided to remove Phone pad from the program menu
When I did it asked if I would like to reset, which I said yes. when the phone tried to re boot it got stuck on a white screen which I can't get passed.
I have tried to do a hard reset in each of the following ways:
Hold power & reset together - but this doesn't work
Press Power & camera together which just gets me to the boot loader but with no prompts to take me further.
I would be most grateful if anyone could suggest a solution
(the only other thing that springs to mind is perhaps loading a new ROM but i'm not sure how to do that either)

I think i broke my phone. I installed some keyboard layout .cab and i soft reset. Now it cant go past the screen where you see the IPL/SPL info and other numbers, and after time when it dims you can only see it in strong light. My PC doesnt recognize it anymore when i plug it in. Please, help much appreciated.
edit (heart attack over): for those who are having the same problem heres what worked for me: make sure the phone is shut off, then hold communications and voice buttons and while you hold them press powerup button for a sec. Keep holding those 2 buttons untill a messege appears, then press the Answer key

Yes, thanks - i did the exact same thing ... installed a "New WM Keyboard CAB" and it never went beyond the IPL/SPL slash screen. I was worried for a bit!
