I just ardered one !
Only thing is its a 18 month contract.
Make sure you ring them early on Monday morning to sort out your contract (they need extra details to credit check and stuff). Otherwise you wont get it on Tuesday.
I ordered that package too. Should be here Tuesday.
got it this morning great phone much better than my jam
Take care these appear to be 18 month contracts not the normal 12 months.
thanks for reply. I willl call them early monday Morning.
Thanks for let me know. i will call them monday morning , so i can get it as soon as possible.
18 months contract is the only catch i can see.
thanks
Yeah, I would be careful of the 18 month contract also. Seems that a lot are doing this now..................
thereaperman - what's the speed like?
Have you tried Betaplayer etc?

Tje MDA Vario (HTC Wizard) cost me 110 euro's on a 12 month Relax 150 contract (21.50 euro per month). Delivery time however is 4 weeks, since they came in the portfolio only today and are not in stock now. But for that kind of money, I'll gladly wait some more.

Just ordered mine, and what a deal :)

I've ordered my XDA Exec late last night from mobilefun.co.uk, I just called them and they said it's beeing processed by the warehouse and to be shipped out today
I went for:
O2 XDA Exec on O2 Business 250 + Data 36 (£52.04 per month)
I need the 36MB per mo, as I will be doing allot of e-mail
the Unit itself: £19.95
What a deal !!
Null
Congrats mate, hope you have (mobile)fun!
Have you got a confirmed delivery date though? I cancelled my order with mobilefun after a week of "Sorry we've got no idea when we're even going to find out when we're ever going to get any stock".
Order my XDA Exec eleven days ago with One Stop Phone Shopper and was told it would be delivered next working day (Monday 21st) still no sign and have been told no stock available, the sales guy bascically lied through his teeth to make the sale and took the money out of my account within 20 minutes of confirming the sale!!!
Now just waiting the rumour mill is it could be two-three weeks or even longer.
One Stop is part of the Carphone Warehouse.
With O2's online shop, I ordered on Day 1, received it on Day 3. It was about 20 quid dearer (*) than mobilefun or onestop, but at least it's *real*.
* on the 'today only' price offer last week, using the student link... it's more like 50 quid dearer now I think

o2 GPRS - Anyone ACTUALLY being charged yet ?

Following on from their threats to begin charging on 31st March (as per other thread )
I can still see no activity on the online bill checker
I'll be a little bit annoyed if they don't charge as threatened now - As I have gone out and bought an MDA Pro with their one of T-mobiles new unlimited web tarrifs to compensate
Anyone noticed they are being charged yet ?
think its from may 2nd onwards when they said they were going to start charging
Some of us were told 2nd May (as you suggest) - and some of us were told 31st March (like me ) but there is nothing moving on the GPRS counter on o2's site yet !
Ah well , now I have two universals and a Vario anyway
If we didn't receive a message stating March or May (I only signed up to o2 in January), then is it safe to assume unlimited free access (based on earlier experiences) or do they even have to tell you that they are now charging? As this is outside what you are supposed to be paying for (ie, their tariffs say you should be paying, with only 100kb free a month - pointless limit as that lasts less than 10 minutes!), then I suppose that they could legitimately charge and backdate if the mood took them?
Does anyone know the official view? I haven't used it this past month much as I became worried that I would be landed with a hefty bill - I even went off and bought a Safecome SDIO Wifi card for home use (another thread, another problem!) after happily having XDAII pda internet access for two months.
Many thanks

UPDATE -
From yesterday (my billing date) I have a new Item on my "usage" page of their online bill checking facility
Where it used to say "texts , media messages , voice calls," they have now added "UK GPRS Mobile web "
Fortunately when I noticed , mine was at 937k (I get 1mb free)
Time to switch

Ordered an MDA pro for £99 on Flext 25 + Web'n'walk on 31st march - as soon as the deals appeared onsite
Bit of a coincidence eh ? o2 starting to charge and Tmobile offering the first (reasonably priced) flat rate GPRS deal , all on the same day !

Yup. O2 are increibly slow moving on this and have been caught on the back foot by flext + unlim data.
We charge £75 for unlim data, T-Mob now charge £7.50. Ten times less.
Our new business tariffs are nowhere near as good as T-Mobiles FLEXT accounts.
We're gonna get creamed by T-Mobile, absolutely creamed. I've sold NO phones at all this week, against a target of 2 per day, it's depressing. Business customers need to keep their numbers too, which means going back to Retentions to get it, and retentions ALWAYS beats or matches our prices!
Luckily I got offered a job out of the blue last night, and hooked up with a girl whos a friend of the girl who offered me the job out of the blue as well, AND my HT820 headphones arrived last night, just in time for the new A2DP upgrade for my Exec.... so I'm not complaining too much...

They've started charging me from 30th March!!!!!
They charged me £81 for 30th March and £18 for 31st March!
I've disputed the bill, let's see what happens.
o2 GPRS
You should be ok, I have just recently joined the wonderful ranks of T mobile flext + web n walk (25% discount on the flext 30 so £22.50 and if you sign up the web n walk for the term on taking out the contract its only £5.60ish pm). Bur before I was on o2 enjoying the benefits of free GPRS.
What I did was keep phoning customer services about once a month and noted who i spoke to, the date and time, and got them to confirm it was still free and that they would inform us by post or text if they were to start charging.
Of course they didn't, and one day I received a hefty bill (as expected). I phoned them up and quoted each person I had spoken to, the date ,the time and what they had actually said and they just couldn't argue. After a bit of debating they decided to let it drop
Good ol' T-mob, thats what I say !!!

I'k simply not giving them the money they're asking for for the data. Why should we have to run round circles coz they're ****wits?
The CS girl asked me to fax my bill etc etc, but why should I? I'm gonna email cs again, tell them the score, get them to SORT it. I've canceled the DD, so they can whistle.
o2 GPRS
I should have said that i've experienced loads of hassle with o2 CS in the past, which is the reason why I noted everything.
The only reson I stayed with them last time was because they "made me an offer i couldn't refuse." When they said that this year, I told them to stick it where the sun don't shine.
T mobile are definately on to a winner with flext and web n walk. I've been after a tariff like this in years. Also, their coverage is up with the best now too.!!

Yeah, in June, when the Vario II is likely released, I'll be six months into my 1 year with O2. Thank God I didn't let the appeal of free texts and minutes sway me to an 18 month contract. I'll then simply reduce to the lowest tariff*, and once that's implemented, I'll buy it out.
In the meantime, I'll get the Vario II from T-Mobile on the Relax+webwalk tariff, since I only ever do 1 year deals
The incompetence of O2 will be a distant memory. I can only hope that T-Mobile aren't equally stupid.
* Would I have to give 28/30 days notice for this?
Re: o2 GPRS
Double post - getting a lot of "phpBB : Critical Error Could not connect to the database" recently....
Someone on the MSE forum has just been billed for £370 of GPRS (backdated  - http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=194449). I notice that my online unbilled calls area is showing 100KB used when it hasn't recorded anything before (since January).
Do they have to tell you that they are now recording data usage? I suppose they will claim they don't need to as they never said it was free anyway .

In my case they DID say it was free. Your friend there should not have b4een charged for data on 29th, 30th, and 31st March. He should query that, refuse to pay it, like I did.
I just got hit for £160
I just got hit for £160 for gprs as my audible air kicked in and went on a downloading spree.
Ian
Bother!
Just noticed a new heading has appeared on my online bill this month. Under "Unbilled Usage" it has another heading "Unbilled Usage to Date" - clicking on that now shows UK GPRS Mobile web - spent £30 last month without even realising it (as it has been free in previous months). No text message notifying me of this.
Ah well, end of that then .

Same here, but 71 Quid!! rang up, o2 cs very helpful, but were Not going to cancel payment . so after thinking about it, if the money is taken, i will cancel contract, pay remaining contract amount & take my custom elsewhere. what do you think? any better ideas?

O2 UK have just released it :)

Just ordered mine with o2 on the phone. Arrives tomorrow or Monday
YAY!
Free phone, 18mnths, £29.83 p/m, 600mins, 1000txt, unlimited broadband.
Bargain!
Did you order online? if so which site?
No, I just called o2 and ordered it over the phone!
Let the fun begin, I just called o2 and yes its available but they want me to sign upto a £45 per month contract to get the phone free.... I told them where to stick it.....
Lets see what others get offered....
Called again using a none o2 number and number and was told it's not available online or over the phone, when I quoted the above price he said that it was incorrect and the £29.83 price is for a 24 month contract. Maybe worth checking the contract period.....
So in summary if you call 202 from a o2 handset they are available, but if you call 08442 020202 they are not available. Instore & business customers can also buy them....
Well, I think I got it cheaper because I am an existing customer. I called upgrades and they said £45 per month contract to get the phone free. I called up retentions and said I was leaving and they said £30 per month for a free phone

Went into an O2 shop a few days ago who said they don't do HD phones. Not too worried as I got mine delivered yesterday on t-mobile for £34pm, free phone and web. Their loss.
The o2 shop where I am said they would be in on Monday 23rd
They released it this morning actually I rang to see what they would offer and managed to get one for free on £35 a month for 18 months.
Now I have a spare HD2!

Thats cause your on a 24 month contract, you save about £5 a month by going on 24 month over an 18 month contract.

So is it 24month instead of 18 month, isn't it?
Ah yes, you're absolutely correct, my mistake! It's 24 not 18
I just got a really good deal IMO.
I was on the simplicity £20 contract (so the same 600 mins, 1000 texts and unlimited internet)
And they offered it to me...
Stay on the same 1 month rolling contract @ £20 a month and pay £277 for the phone.
I went for this, because 1 month contract and £277 works out brilliant for me! if another phone comes along... say a tegra device or WM7 in March then I can upgrade as normal when ever I want.

Mine understanding for deal is that you are acturally tied for 12month.
it is simplisity deal, but there is a minimum period of 12month......
please check
I did check,
His first description of it, was instead of going on a contract I can buy the phone outright from them at cost price.
I then asked, so if after 2 or 3 months I wanted to upgrade as normal to a different phone, I could? and he said yes.

T-Mobile Upgrade

OK, last week I agreed a package with T-Mobile - Flext 35 with 3gb of data for £35pm and £310 upgrade discount.
Currently use 1.5gb pm on HD2 (WMob 6.5 Stock Rom) - Mainly due to streaming radio and poor HTC RSS reader that seems to delete and reload entire podcast if there is a tiny delay during download.
Was trying to use Chitter Chatter (Over the phone) - Phones in stock, will provide the phone for free - Yeah!
CC have them in stock, can't release them as TMob have not "finished testing"
I explain the SIM free and O2 unlocked phones are on TMob network, what's the issue. CC:" TMob won't let us sell them"
I call TMob: "Not our issue, CC have not registered the IMEI no's on the system, it's a CC stock issue.
Back to CC: No, it's definitely TMob.
Escalate to TMob "management" - silence
Same routine on Friday, with both sides saying the same thing - contradicting each other but CC said they expect SGS2 to be launched on Wednesday by them, June for TMob Sales/Upgrades
Saturday I went to CPWarehouse - Yes we can upgrade - but no stock
Opposite is PhoneHouse - Yes we have 2 in stock - unconfirmed upgrade price £309 - but we can't sell them as TMob won't allow us to release them"
I call TMob: "2 suppliers say exactly the same thing, but you allow CPW to sell these - what's the deal?"
TMob: "No idea, but we would not block retailers from selling"
Escalate to "manager" - who does call back!!!
TMob Mgr: "No idea, main man is away until Wednesday - will find out then."
Humm, 2 x Wednesday deadlines - it seems TMob are not being very honest with retailer/customers/Loyalty team, and the customer, once again, is left to do all the running around.
Shame, after 19 years, I thought I'd seen all of their rubbish antics - but this is very poor.
What odds there will be a SGS2 on my desk on Thursday?
En_Croute
London
I'm on an old Flext 35 contract with 3Gb, been on it for a while and I'm out of contract
by 6 or 8 months.
When I called them recently about getting the SGS2 when it is released in June, I asked
them if I could keep the same contract and renew for 18 months, they said NO.
It would be one of the new contracts with the 500Mb of data.
I'm interested how you negotiated the contract with 3Gb.
Also what do you mean by £310 upgrade discount?
Thanks
D

I've been with TMob for 19 years (Well, between me and my wife, I had to move to O2 for work a long time ago for a while).
I explained I needed the data and was looking to leave as 500mb (and more is not able to be bought) it simply wasn't enough, and I was going to Three (unlimited) or Orange (Up to 1.25gb with boosters), and they came up with the Flext35.
As there's no TMob/BTOpenzone wireless at either of my offices - it was a no brainer.

TMob have a rate they pay for your handset - the Max is £310, had I gone to CPW (Sim price £399), I'd have had to pay £89 for the handset there.
As I've upgraded with CPW 4 or 5 times, and my wife too, that might have come down
PhoneHouse had an upgrade price for the S1 of £309, and expected the S2 to be the same.
I tried to upgrade with Tmob through CPW yesterday but tbh i thought that deal they offered me was rubbish.
My discount for a phone is £330 (so 310 is not max), so they asked me to pay £70 upfront for 2yrs contract £25pm with 500mb internet (im on 3gb atm). I can get similar deal directly from o2 not to mention £100 cashback. So i said thanks and got my pac code.
But before i go ill wait till wednesday and try to upgrade directly with Tmob as it may be cheaper then by going thru 3rd party. But wednesday is my final deadline, im not waiting any longer
One more thing, apparently Tmob dont have WnW+ anymore and all of ther internet is 500mb, but im not sure and defo gonna try to get 3gb.

I will defo check before signing - as only "some of the calls are recorded" for "training purposes" and you can guarantee my promise of 3gb will be one "not selected for retention"!
The deal I got from CPW on tuesday was this.
Talkmobile (Vodafone 2g/3g network)
12month contract
25pounds a month
300mins
1000texts
Unlimited (real unlimited - no fair policy/overcharge)
and 200 Pounds upfront for the phone.
I will be selling my original sgs for around that amount so it was good for me taking into account that I bought the SGS 100 Pounds upfront last September
Ordered my upgrade through buymobilephone.net on friday
TMob 18 month contract, 300mins, 300texts and unlim data for £25/mnth with phone free.
I was expecting to pay additional for the phone but when they came back with no cost I snapped it up quickly.

That's pobably not Unlimited Interent - it's 500mb data, and subsequent unlimited browsing.
RSS, POP3 and Internet Radio do not count as browsing
Twitter may, depending on your client application you use.
And the unlimited is in fact upto 3gb Fair usage policy.......
My promised "3gb data", turns out ot be an "error" - they didn't know the difference between data and browsing. Awaiting a manager to call back.
Another T-Mobile untruth.
