I have just uninstalled Goodlink from my Wizard but don't know how to switch the softkeys back to the original apps. I have found a post (elsewhere) on registry key changes that supposedly work but they don't. Does anyone know where the softkey program association lives and how to modify it?
I have the exact same problem...I'll let you know if I find any useful info if you agree to do the same. I feel Like GoodLink has hijacked my wizard!
Question update
Does anyone know where in the registry the softkey application association lives? I have found one internet post on the subject which was close but didn't actually work.
i also have the same problem. i've reg edited the softkeys, but everytime i restart goodlink puts them back. goodlink contacts doesn't have photo contact. any help?
I have found the fix! here it is from another forum.

How To: Override the Contacts Softkey with Goodlink
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Well, after much frustration, I finally figured out a way to override the right softkey after installing Goodlink so that the Outlook contacts comes up instead of the Goodlink Contacts.
Several people have tried adding the 113 registry entry and pointing it to the outlook contacts shortcut in \Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Pocket Outlook\Contacts.lnk. However, while that link works from the Start Menu, it doesn't when you assign it to the softkey. The assignment works (you can verify this by changing the name of the softkey). However, it still somehow pulls up the Goodlink Contacts.
The best option would be to type in the actual program name into the 113 registry entry. However, since there isn't a separate Contacts.exe program, you can't do that. You have to type in "poutlook.exe contacts", which it won't interpret correctly.
So, the way I finally got it to work was by creating a new registry entry to replace :MSCONTACTS, which is what the Contacts.lnk file mentioned above refers to. Somehow, the Goodlink contacts program overrides the :MSCONTACTS value when it is called from the softkey.
So, here goes.
First, create a key in HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Shell\Rai
called ":MSCONTACTS2". Now, copy all of the values in the ":MSCONTACTS" key over to the ":MSCONTACTS2" key. Edit the "1" value so that it says "poutlook.exe contacts". You have now created a new shortcut/service/whatever to open contacts. However, this service won't be overridden by Goodlink.
Now, Go to HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Today\Keys
There should already be a 112 key (which refers to the left softkey). Create a 113 key for the right sotkey. Copy the two values from the 112 key to the 113 key. Rename the "Default" value to say "Contacts" (this is the display value for the softkey). Rename the "Open" value to say ":MSCONTACTS2", which is the entry we just created.
The right softkey will work immediately without restart. However, my phone freaked out the first time I received a call and kept ringing. So, I did a soft reset. However, when you do that, you end up losing the registry entries you made for some reason. So, instead of doing a soft reset, turn off your device. It then shuts down gracefully and saves the registry values. When it boots up you should be ready to go.
Enjoy.

Hope someone can help with registry settings:
I installed WebIS mail, then de-installed. Now when I use PocketPlus "New Message" command nothing happens. Before this, I used to get a prompt from the default messanger client asking what account (text, pop, etc) I wanted to use, and then my mail would start.
Some more info:
- PocketPlus 'NewMessage' fires up the following shortcut:
"ActionSender.exe" -key PLUSACTION{0025|0000} {B035EEBF-99B7-4ec2-ACBA-0F13B5860510}
- The last key above is found in the registry under ..local_machine\software\Microsoft\Shell\Extensions\NewMenu
- This key has only 2 pieces of data:
(Default): Message
Enabled: 1
- It is also found under hkey_classes_root\CLSID and here things are more interesting: The (default) value is "WebIS Mail New Menu Extension", and teh InProceServer32 key points to \Windows\wismlnew.dll. Thus, WebIS has left behind this key, and the dll (yes, it's there in Windows)
- FURTHER, under hkey_classes_root\emlfile\Shell\Open\Command I have a key (Default) with value "\....Mail\wismail.exe". HELL, WebIS has left behind so much crap it's criminal!!!
- Ditto for mailto\Shell\Open
So, basically I need to know how to fix the stuffed key so that my 'New' Menu knows where to go, else fix the shortcut to point to another registry entry that will fire up a new message with a list of available accounts (ie as it used to).
ANy help would be MUCH appreciated...
Hi,
on a WM Smartphone you can hide the SIM contacts by going to Start/Settings/Phone/Call Options and unticking the "Show SIM contacts" box.
Is there a simular setting on WM5 pocketPC?
Or maybe a registry that handles that?
nobody knows?
Yes, and here's the cab file from the T-Mob ext rom to do it for you.
Hope it helps, don't know if it needs to be run after a hard reset or if it will work anytime for this.
Joe
Thanks a lot. It works!
And just for the curious: the important option in the .cab is one registry key:
Under HKCU\ControlPanel\Phone add a new DWORD value named "ShowSim" and set it to 0. No need to soft reset the contacts will be hidden when you next open the contacts window.
BTW:
this registry setting does not affect the "Smart Dialing" list direct. But if you first start the contacts application before starting the phone app for the first time after a soft reset, the sim contacts will also be hidden in the smart dialing list.
I hope this helps everyone who keeps contacts on his sim card but doesnot wont to see dublicates after importing contacts.
Which cab file is it in the t-mobile extended rom?

Hi all!
How can I enable auto-suggest feature in inbox? I mean when I start to type in the TO field the device should offer a few contacts starting with the letters I type. This worked for me on my other devices, but not on Diamond.
Currently I can only tap on the TO text, then it slowly opens Contacts app, where I search for a contact, then it opens another screen where I can select which number I want to use. This is way too complicated!
EDIT: I see that if I use the built-in keyboard it does suggest ONE contact and I need to hit the arrows multiple times to get to the right one. However, if I use any other keyboard (like e.g. Resco Keyboard which is my default one), no contacts are offered at all.
Thanx
Still no joy
I found this info, but it still does not work:
"If you want Auto Complete function in "To:" field in SMS app, go to HKLM>System>Inbox>RecipientAutoComplete and change value of the string MaxSuggestions. from 0 to 4 for example."
Half-solution
I found a solution at http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?p=241036
This hack works, however disables the default auto-suggestion of the built-in Touch keyboard. However, I do not intend to search further, this is a completely acceptable compromise for me:
"The culprit is Xt9, when it's enabled it disables sms name lookup, so disable XT9 and whalla. Instructions... browse registry:
HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\Layouts\e001 0409\Ime File
set the Ime File value from \windows\eT9ime.dll to compime.dll"
You may also need to add these registry entries (not sure):
HKLM>System>Inbox>RecipientAutoComplete
MaxSuggestions (DWORD): 4
HKLM>System>Inbox>RecipientAutoComplete>SuggestionGenerators:
email (STRING): "{364D1505-915A-4b1d-85A6-8C258B2D2246}"
phone (STRING): "{45EEED9B-898c-4caf-BC3E-A5422F56085B}"
Hope somebody will be happy with this finding

Hey i was looking for this since long. But the problem is that when i try to change the registery key it says access denied. How to change it. I am using Ceregistry editor. This doesnt allow me to change the value.
bump.............
registry editor
I am using PHM registry Editor. I have not had any problems with it.
Actually I have this problem not in SMS but in email. I don't get any suggestions at all even without TX9.
Does anyone have a fix for this please?
I am running Nataly 2.6 ROM and both SMS and email have auto-suggestion enabled. However, I have seen some posts complaining about email not working (on other ROMs). Don't know the answer for this one, sorry
Hi, if I start the new SMS application and I then click on the keypad letters to add a contact the names that pop up are not shown alphabetically.
For example if I press 'G' to add Gary the first name that shows on the small grey bar is Gemma, although I have 5 names that start with letters that come before Gemma alphabetically, like Gary !
So for example if I had a friend called AAA and one called AAB and one called AAC, when I press 'A' to add a name I get shown AAC first and not AAA.
Does that make sense?
Anyone any clues please it is really annoying me.
Yea, I would like to know how to list the first names first and the last names last. Right now my phone book is in alphabetical order by last name. I would like it to be in order by first name.
I simply swapped the fields when inputting contacts...
when you click on a contact and than press edit you can change the option to archiv. ass
there you can change to save first name first. i would be much easier if there was a program that automaticly changes this.

sounds like a pain if you already have several hundred contacts in the phone backwards.
I have this issue too and it's synched with Google Contacts... I don't want to have to modify the first name into the last name, I want to modify how it is viewed...
I downloaded a program called 'contact changer' that sets the 'archive as' field in the first-last name order
if you create a new contact you should manually put the archive as in the correct order
http://www.shubaroo.com/index.php?module=contact
tested and synched with oultook 2007 with no problems.

I tried this app but its only a manual fix...like i said above everytime I resync it goes back to last name first.
Is there anytype of app/ cab or registry hack that makes it first name first by default?
Hey guys,
I was trying to edit some contact, and I want to copy last name and past it into first name. But although I select last name and keep it pressed, menu for copy and paste is not showing. Is this a bug or I'm doing something wrong..
No, you are not doing anything wrong.
It's because the custom Contact editor that HTC included with the Topaz doesn't support Copy/Paste.
Hopefully HTC will provide a fix for this in the upcoming months (or possibly with the 6.5 upgrade) But until then, you can either edit the contact using the WM Contact editor (which I think you can Copy/Paste) or just input all your names manually.
You can switch the SIP to "Keyboard" and then use CTRL+C and CTRL+V.
Tap the contact you want to edit, tap on "Edit Contact", scroll down and tap on "More".
There you will enter the default WM6 Contact editor where you can do the copy(cut)/paste thing you wanted to do.
Thanks,,,it's working!!
