wireless speakers - Networking

What models are there in uk? speakers not head sets.
Is it possible to us the wifi to connect directlty to wifi speakers?
Cheers

I don't think there are wireless speaker that uses WiFi connection. Bluetooth, maybe, but definately not WiFi. It is some what infeasible to manufacture a speaker just for the PC realm when they can have it for.. many others. Usually, it goes into those audio jack or the standard red/write AV output.

Wifi to FM

Hi Everyone
I use an i-trip to connect my Ipod to my car's FM. Is there any way of connecting my XDA 11i to FM using the Wifi connection? I am thinking of a box of tricks like the itrip but instead of plugging into the headphone socket the 'box of tricks' receives the info from the XDA via wifi and transmits FM to the car radio thus negating the need for any wires from th XDA
Anyone any ideas?
Barry
fm radio are analog signals based around 87.5 to 108.0 MHz
wifi are digital signals based around 2.4Ghz
so something needs to recieve the fm signal and stream it for the wifi of the device to recieve it
dont know if such an device myself though
Not exactly...
I ran across a device on the MCM Electronics website whichwould let you connect bluetooth audio transmissions, and would transmit them on different FM stations. Plugged into the ciggarette lighter, I believe. Had a device which could plug into home stereo using A/V jacks also. Be pretty cool to be able to play mp3s in the car with no wires! I'm going to order one of each!

[Q] No one is trying to fix the BT range problem?

According to the teardown report, the BT chip is fully wired, but it seems no one is trying to fix the rang problem. I wish my NC connected to the internet everywhere using BT tethering, so I need BT badly.
Please devs, could you please dig a little deeper to the problem?

I'm thinking that it's more a hardware issue: it seems to need a larger/longer
antenna.
Software can only do so much (like enabling Bluetooth). I don't know if the output power of the Bluetooth radio can be boosted (at the expense of battery life). That may be the only tweak that might be done by the Devs to boost the range.
Dan
B&N says that while the bluetooth chip is wired it has no antenna.
So here's how to fix it:
1. open you nook color
2. Install a BT antenna
Other than that, there is nothing the devs can do about it.
Then why does the wii remote work so well? I tried it for the first time just recently with cm 7.1 and got a range of about 6 feet. Maybe not the greatest for bluetooth in general, but would certainly suit my needs if other devices worked. Like a mic/headset.
BT works.
With a limited range.
If it had an antenna, the range would be better.
Software cannot change that fact.
Capiche?
I think the question is why different devices have different range. If you think about it... different devices have different requirements/capabilities: wii remotes probably transmit with greater power and receive with greater sensitivity than headsets thanks to their superior batteries
But it doesn't just seem to be a range issue. My friend has a bt headset that I tried, it paired and connected fine. If I turned up/down the volume on the nook it said playing through bluetooth headset device. The problem was no audio at all.
But I was able to walk away a few feet before it lost bluetooth sync. So in this case it did not seem to be range or pairing issue, but simply the audio was not being piped properly to the device.
Sounds like it hasn't actually paired properly - I think the BT headsets have proved finicky about this. What device are you using, and has anyone reported it working in this thread;

If so we'd be more likely inclined to help.

It sounds exactly like your headset was out of range. Transmitting audio requires a very good connection, where just seeing that the device is there does not require much at all. If you hold the nook right next to the headset (1-2") you will probably hear the audio.

[Q] Will a separate Bluetooth adapter for voice vs. audio work together?

I'm working on a DIY project that requires the audio bluetooth have higher power (wattage) to drive the speakers. Regular bluetooth "headset" (voice & audio) adapters just don't have much power in them.
A work-around could be to have two different Bluetooth adapters working at the same time. One would be for microphone only (voice). The second would be an amplifier for the audio.
Now unfortunately, I can't just hook up an amplifier in-line with a normal Bluetooth headset adapter because that would nullify the full-duplex capability.
So my question to you guys is, is Android capable of connecting to two different Bluetooth adapters at the same time? One for microphone and one for speakers, and have them work together without hiccups?
I know it can do two separate for phone and media. But the device will kick the media Bluetooth aside for the higher priority of the phone. Can you some how use an otg cable to Bluetooth adapter as another option?

From what you're saying, it sounds like when a phone call comes in, the mic will work. But the phone will no longer send the audio (phone audio in this case) to the speakers using the media bluetooth connection.
Bummer. And I am afraid you might be right.
No, cords are not allowed at all.
This is for a helmet setup.
Thanks for the heads up.
It does

Yes, this does work. I use my Anker BT to talk and my Mercedes BT for Audio at the same time. This works really well (ROM is stock 4.3)

Phone Audio Through Bluetooth, Microphone Input Through Phone. Possible?

I Have an aftermarket Bluetooth adapter in my old crappy car which connects to my phone through Bluetooth and outputs the sound to my speakers through an FM transmitter. The phone audio streams perfectly to the car speakers, but the issue is that the person on the other end cannot hear me because my mouth is nowhere close to the microphone on the unit (which is plugged into my car's cigarette lighter).
Ideal solution is to use my phone's microphone instead of the aftermarket device's while still routing the audio out through Bluetooth. Is this possible? I am rooted and am willing to tinker around in areas of the phone no one should dare go...
I did some Googling to no avail. I've downloaded SoundAbout thinking it might be able to, but no dice.
Thank you in advance!

Possible to route phone audio through Bluetooth speakers and use phone microphone?

I posted this in another XDA forum yetserday. I didn't receive any replies, so I'm trying here. If I'm violating some internal protocol by doing this, I apologize and won't do it again.
