Hello,
i installed Smartskeys on my XDA neo on his SD Card and everything worked fine. Some time i couldn't start my sms program anymore and made a new start of my XDA. On startup it hanged on a few times until i removed the SD-card. Then i got a Failuremassege: couldnt start card/...Folder/SmartsKeys. I decided to uninstall the program from the card: Removed it from its location, removed in startupfolder and made a softreset. Again the message: couldnt start card/...Folder/SmartsKeys, every time i look on my device!!! I createt a new Folder SmartsKeys in system memory an started the program. It worked, but i didnt got rid of the failure massage...I uninstalled again and after that 2 masseges appeared with both folders. There must be rest of the program that must be removed before i can install it again. To diable the masseges i installed the Program into both folders again, but this couldnt be the answer.
Thanks a lot for any help
Please try:
1. Edit file smartkey.ini and set STARTONREBOOT=0.
2. Tab the smartkey.exe in the installed folder. This will close the program and remove the smartkey.lnk from the startup folder.
3. Reboot your neo and check that the program doesn't run on startup.
4. Uninstall the program.
Hope this helps. Good luck!
Thanks a lot, this solved the Problem....

Well after applying a couple tweaks to my KJAM. I have a problem now, I cant uninstall any program. I go to add remove and select remove it then says cant remove, do i want to delete from program list. I also cant reinstall the same app...unless i delete the old directory manually. It seems to me that it is some form of read only protection. any ideas ??
I'm getting the same error as well. I used to have an app on my Jam that would uninstall files and its better then the built in uninstaller. Right now i'm lookin for it but can't remember its name..
i got the same problem
Same here
I have had that problem as well. I have found that if I soft reset the device, then run the uninstall, the program is conmpletely removed without issue. I believe that this error is caused by something related to the program still running in the background.

Tried using ActiveSync to add/remove programs?
I too have the same problem and i soft reset to properly uninstall anything.
You can use SKtools 2.3.30 at http://s-k-tools.com/ to uninstall any program you wish to
works well? thanks for the suggestion
i tried to uninstall ms voice command and it partially uninstalled but not all of it was removed. the icon is still there and when i click on it i can adjust the settings, but they dont do anything because part of hte software is uninstalled. how do i clean this up?
i would also like to know. thanks
I do have this problem with WM% cause in WM2003SE i hadn't experienced it..but there's a solution try MEMMAID to delete the remained shortcuts and registry records of bad uninstalled app.
Also you can have spb PLus to be able to boot the device in safe mode so in that mode you can uninstall any application without any problem
How to uninstall
Some programs need uninstall twice.
1 step
standard uninstall
when uninstaler ask:
program not remove completly, do you remove from uninstaller list - answer no
2 step
soft reset
3 step
another standard uninstall
4 step
if needed repeat step 2,3
uninstall completed
re
SK Tools have great functions about this topic. Try it !
By far the easiest way i found to do it was to navigate to Windows > AppMgr folder then remove the folder inside there that matches the program your trying to uninstall. Eg VoiceCommand
as well as going to windows\appmgr you should also navigate to program files if your doing a manual uninstall\delete.
Could someone tell me to cleanly uninstall worldmate pro2006 ? I keep getting unsuccesful uninstallation. pls help.

Maybe its running in the background when you uninstall it/ or if you have it there (installed) in the storage card it creates problems getting uninstalled.
Try to close the program fully By shutting it down from the Task manager..With the task manager open
Go to MENU>VIEW>CHANGE MODE
See if any instance of World mate is running there.
If you have partially uninstalled it, try reinstalling it and perform a reset.
Try to uninstall it by going to Add Remove Progs. in the phone.
If the problem persists, try removing it thru the Add remove progs. in the active sync.
All the best.
You are right jeasbe. I have installed my Worldmate to my storage card. I'm currently not using any task manager program. What would you recommend? Is memmaid one of these? I also tried uninstalling after the soft reset thing just to clean that worldmate was'nt running but to no avail of success in deleting it. Also looked at the running programs before deletion just to make sure it is not running. I even accidentally deleted the list from the rmove programs, and the program was still there. Is there any way to manually delete these files thru registry?

Literally Speaking the best method still would be to DELETE the folder from your \storage\Program Files\world mate (or whatever)
Then perform a fresh Install, this time in the Phone memory.
Then go for a soft reset.
Do not open World mate.
The world mate shall be there in the ADD REMOVE prog list By now.
Go to add-remove progs and perform a Remove.
Hopefully this shall delete the traces of world mate from your Phone.
U can manually delete the folder safely from ProgramFiles\world mate (from the phone memory this time)
Before U try anything stupid I suggest..Please do take a backup...
I take risks with my Data coz I have it spread over my other O2Xda as well as On My outlook....
All the Best
If I have to unistall some program I use the MemMaid. These program really erase what you want.
Thanks
recently I am having a strange behavior each time I uninstall an app which is installed on the Sd card: the following msg appears
The application could not be removed properly. Do you wnat to remove it from the list of installed applications?
I say yes and it simply removes the entry from the list, of course: then i have to go manually and delete app folder and link.
Any1 knows why? And if some traces will be left behind?
Thanks
If that message appears you can try this:
1. Click on "No".
2. Softreset the device.
3. Try it again.
Make sure that:
1) The SD is not write protected (check the little switch)
2) No part of the program is running / used - not today plugin, menu addon anything.
program is not running
sd is not write protected
no today plugins
and did soft reset many times but still the same problem, for all applications
I am facing the very same problem. The apps do not uninstall at all and their entries from the 'remove programs' is lost.
anyone help me, after i restore my all system using spb backup i tried to install an apps and i'm using apps' cab files, everytime i activate the file i always got "install of (name of the app) is unsuccessful" i tried many cab files and still have that message.
and i tried using another restore file from sktools the problem same as the first one. i checked everything just fine only 1 i cant install and cab file.
anyone would give me a favour please?
problem solved
How you solved it may be a help to others????????????????????????
well actually i found that there was one or more apps ruin my system before i back up the system
like i said before i used 3 back up apps and whole 3 apps didnt make my system back to normal (able to install an app) this come to my curiousity then i backward 1 time before my previous back up then whole thing came to normal so i think this could be apps jammed
note: save at least 3 back up files at different time and u will far from hell
