I have a Qtek 9100 with i-mate k-jam OS.
I have this issue with volume, whatever volume level or settings I use I always get notification sound for "data connection terminated" (translated from italian, maybe original english version differs).
In my opinion when I disable all sounds tapping in volume icon in the top bar every sound and notification should be disabled except the alarm. On the contrary alarm in silenced while the notification mentioned above still plays (there are others, but I cen't remember now).
While the alarm not playing is not a big issue to me, the notifications playing in silenced mode annoys me a lot.
Is there a way to make it completely quiet? Maybe a registry key, or something...
Thanks,

How can I change the alarm tone and whether it should vibrate or not? Previously had the wizard, and could have sworn that the function is in settings, sounds and notifications. But when I go there there is no alarm option in the drop down menu?! At the moment it's a loud, annoying t-mobile tone and it vibrates, which sounds awful first thing in the morning...
found it...
Hello everyone !
I bought a HTC leo last week (such an amazing smartphone Oo), but, I have a small problem with it !
So, after setting up the alarm clock (Sound = Alarm-Snooze), when it comes the time, it doesn't do the right sound, but it does the sound of a simple reminder !!! That's a bit annoying... Such sound is not enought to wake me up xD
I have also another problem, when I set "Emit alarm when the phone is in vib/silencious mode" (sorry for the bad translation, but I've got my phone in French ^^'), it doesn't work !!!! Which is also annoying, because, when I sleep, my phone is in vib mode.
So, to resume, two problems :
- Setting a sound for the alarm doesn't work
- Setting "Emit alarm when the phone is in vib/silencious mode" doesn't work
How can I solve those problems ?
Thanks !
PS : Sorry for the bad English ~~
I would like to find a permanent fix for this as it's now annoying me BUT what I have found is that if you go into the sound settings area and leave it in normal but just turn down the phone volume leaving the system sounds turned on/up you will then get the notification tone followed by the alarm tone you select.
Highly annoying that your notification tone is played when you choose a different alarm tone though. also a big shame that putting the phone into silent doesn't allow the alarm to overide the sound settings as it does on nearly every phone i've had.
Haven't tried turning the phone off to see if the alarm wakes it up and then goes off though.
Today I experienced a strange issue with my Leo. The ring volume autosets itself to silent. I manually increase it to max (both ring and system) using the volume keys but immediately after exiting the volume control window it sets itself to silent. I tried to set it to vibrate only but - same thing, it goes to silent again. The sound icon in the taskbar shows normal volume (i.e. not silent). When I receive a call it does not ring nor it vibrates. Its silent. The device plays music and sounds normally. I believe there must be a registry key that somehow was changed but I'm not sure which program might have caused that.
I use Phonegate call filtering app and Iconsoft PhoneX but cannot find anything in their settings that would cause it. Also tried removing them - no effect. Soft reset - many times
HR may be?
are you sure it is setting to silent? it could be that the chosen ringtone doesn't exist anymore? Try changing to a different ringtone and back again.
Tried that but still with no success
hmm, could it be that you have an appointment set, and the phone set to go silent during appointments?
Stupid me! In the windows sounds and notification settings, Notifications tab I found that for the Incoming call event the ring type was mysteriously changed to NONE when it should be set to RING. I don't know how could this happen by itself... But thank you, samsamuel for your logical suggestions and sorry for posting before thoroughly check my device.
hehe no worries, it generally turns out to be something simple.
Hi,
I searched the forums and found few threads for this windows mobile issue but no solution or what so ever.
Issue is with Overall Volume settings and controls.
I was previously an IPhone owner and i just recently moved to this amazing phone, however i do miss my Iphone for its few simplicity and user friendly setting options.
When my iphone was use to be in idle situation (not silent) and i use the volume rockers it use to change the ringer lever but it didnt change the media playback volume or in call earpiece volume. And When i was in a call, using the volume rockers would make adjustments to just the earpiece volume without changing any other volume setting. And when playing media it will just change the volume level for the media. This is a very natural behavior as we all would expect from our device.
But with my HD2 it gets really confusing and annoying at the same time that i dont have indivisual level of volume setting for in call, ringtone, and media playback.
I understand that we have the option to seprate the system/ringer volume level but still it doesnt work at it should.
I want to keep my ringer type/level to be at vibrate most of the time and my system to be at full or wtv level based on my preference at that time. But i want my phone to vibrate for text messeges and emails or wtv alerts i turn on. Just like how it was with iphone, if my phone was on silent(and vibrate setting on) my ringer wudnt sound and neither wud my text msges wud sound but my phone wud vibrate on text messages when vibration was turned on.
But with this phone if my ringer is at 0% volumes and system is anything above 0% my text messages wud vibrate and sound. how ever my text message sound should be attached to the ringer volume level not the system level volume.
Scenarios:
1).
System/ringer level same == no.
ringer level = 0%
system level = 50%
sms notification = on
In this above scenario if i receive a call my phone shud only vibrate and not sound. if i receive a text message it shud only vibrate but not sound. and if i play media it shud be at 50% level and my call volume shud be at 50% aswel.
But right now if i get a phone call my phone wud not ring but it will vibrate.(which is good). If i get a text message it sounds and vibrate (not good). media is at 50% level (good) and my call level is good aswell.
i am looking for a solution that would give me 2 things. First thing is to allow me to choose if i want vibration at all or no. And secondly make my notification attached to ringer volume instead of system volume.
i am sure alot of ppl are looking for this solution and would agree that this phone lacks volume settings and options.
thanks

Volume controls
Same gripe here..
Unable to get unilateral volume control on this magnificent phone.
Sometimes, its as if the smarter the phone, the dumber the remedial tasks can be.
Its not the perfect fix, but this is what I have mine set for.
Under Audio and display settings:
PROFILE: is set for normal
VOLUME:
ringer volume at zero
system volume at 50%
RING AND NOTIFICATIONS:
Ring type: Vibrate only
Notification Sounds: OFF on all..
That way, sms and email only display the green light on ear bar, rather then the chimes..
and music volume is adjustable without triggering the volumes back on..
Hope that helps.
You can choose to set independent settings for system and ringer volume control or set them up to be the same with the vol rocker keys. It is available in the settings.
How can I configure the alert slider to 3 settings:
1. all sounds and rings and notifications (vibrate would be nice).
2. Vibrate on all alerts and rings. Media volume may or may not be muted.
3. Completely silent. No rings, no vibrating. No noise. Ideally media volume is muted.
I'm currently implementing this by using the "Silent" alert slider setting (all the way up) as vibrate, and "do not disturb" slider (middle) to be completely silent. I just wish the media volume was also muted.
Any suggestions on how to configure to get the above configurations (without root)? I feel the current config is a little obscure.
Thanks
I agree. It's possible on custom roms, and there have been mods in the past for stock, but I haven't seen anything yet for the 5 that allows you to reconfigure the alert slider in that manner.
I'm looking for solution too.
I'm also on lookout for those exact config. with that my OP5 would be truly perfect (and with IP68 rating but at least i have a "light splash" protection so it's better then nothing)
