Guys,
This is a small PC app that I wrote and have been using for years, and thought that you might find it useful.
It's basically a way to make quick shortcuts to apps that you use often.
Eg, say you want to launch Photoshop easily. Instead of navigating through your start menu, just go to Start > Run and type 'p'.
It can also be used to launch webpages, eg make a shortcut to XDA Forums in your favourites. Type the letter X into VJQuickLaunchMaker, then drag the shortcut onto VJQuickLaunchMaker. Then you can go to Start > Run and type X to quickly launch the Forum.
[if you're a keyboard fan, that's Win+R, X, Enter. Very efficient!]
It's just a small app, but you might find it useful.

how do i change it from calendar to phone?
please help
thanks
if you go into start-->settings-->softkey you can change the programs that open with the bottom buttons
I'd like to be able to change these too but I don't seem to have any setting for "Softkey" under settings.
In order to be able to change your today screen softkey functions:
1. Download and unzip SOFTKEYAPPLET.zip.
2. Copy or move SoftKeyAppletEx.cpl into the windows directory of your device.
3. Soft reset.
4. Now when you navigate to Start > Settings > System there is a softkey setting app.
The credit for this goes to someone around here. I don't remember who, but if you search, I'm sure you'll find the original thread(s).
Thanks maxh.
Works perfectly.
Hi there,
Not quite sure how to go about this so might as well ask.
I have downloaded PocketPuTTY to my phone and I can run it by going into File Explorer and navigating to the file itself.
This obviously isn't ideal, so I would like to add it into the Programs menu along with the proper icon for the file.
Can anyone tell me how I can do this or alternatively, point me in the direction of a good good?
I've searched the forums but can't really see anything.
klick 2 seconds onto the exe-file, select copy, then go to your \windows\Start Menu\Programs directory and click into the white background for 2 seconds and use "paste shortcut" and remane it to the name you want....

This little app works the same as the Softkeyapplet, it's a simple tool for you to remap the softkeys on the today screen.
Usage Notes
Select the target links using the "Browse" buttons and edit the labels if needed.
You can also add new shortcuts to your Startr Menu from the dropdown list using the "Add" button.
Go to "Menu" and select "Apply" to apply the changes for the softkeys.

Many of you have already used or seen the Iphone or the Pre's universal search function. I thought that it would be a great idea to somehow implement that into our Phones.
Currently I can slide out my Verizon Touch Pro, start typing "Ama.." and get any Amanda, etc that I have in my phone's contact list.
I'm not thinking this has to be an extensive application, but much like the other phones, it takes advantage of what already is in place on the phone.
It could essentially be:
1) Any / all applications with the same name / letters
2) Contacts
3) "Nothing found? Search Google for: "......."
I have no skills at this sort of thing, just wondered if it were possible to replace WinMo's current universal search and replace it with a slightly far more reaching one.
I want to create a folder on my desktop & put my chrome bookmarks in there, as I have done with my Note 2.
When I go to save a book mark, the option to save to desktop isn't there, Is there any way round this?
Ta
Within Chrome, you should be able to long press any bookmark and get option to add to home screen. Or long press on as screen and add shortcut/bookmark.
I don't use Chrome, use Xscope. Have an html file exported from Firefox from pc, on sd card, that I shortcut to:
