Uk weather towns ? - 8125, K-JAM, P4300, MDA Vario General

Is there any weather app that will focus on UK towns rather than just london ? Is there no app that can use the data from say yahoo weather ?

WeatherPanel can do this.
Just tried to search Rugby, UK get location code UKXX1252.
Settings-> Cities-> Add New-> Search For: ...

I use pocket weather and it works for any UK town just need to get the code off of the weather channel and add it in.

Search for your town, and it'll appear in the URL when the page loads.

Top stuff. All sorted.
Cheers all.

I use SPB Weather - there's a 'plugin' that allows you to use the BBC's weather forecast (most local towns in the UK) ...

Changing the location for the weather

Has anyone figured out how to change the weather location reported in the HTC plugin. I live in an area not listed in the initial setup (Sacramento, CA) and I found a few registry entries to change, but it did not seem to change the display. In fact, I think I might have broke it!!
I somehow got it to work the second time i tried it. I first reset it back using the interface, then edited the registry and added my city. Works great.
Could you explain exactly the modification ?
Thanks.
You can find the registry entry here...
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE
Software
HTC
HTCHome
Weather
Settings
You need to change the Location name and Location Code keys to match the format found on Accuweather.com for your City.
Press OK and save changes.
Backup your Registry first just incase.
DO IT AT YOUR OWN RISK
is it possible to "REPROGRAM" the "weather icon" on the htc today screen ??? i would like to launch another program instead...thank you
format
<city name="Tampa, US" locationcode="NAM|US|FL|TAMPA|33601"/>
best i can tell the above is the correct syntax for getting cities in the list but aside from the above city and a couple of MAJOR cities i cannot get this to work on any smaller cities or towns. anyone come up with anything else?
It wont work for me either :0( - after the change it wont download?
If it's possible, anyone could do a tutorial for the weather change screen ?
Sorry for my bad english....
Many thanks.
Works a treat, thanks
Well, it works like a charm for me. Happy to see that you can actually change the city name too (mine is now Amersfoort, without the NL).

Not all the locations ( supported by the service ) work with the HTC server side plugin
Poor engineering

If this is true, HTC deserve one serious slap around their wrists...
I'm unable to change my weather city to Holiday, FL 34691 myself...tried a couple different variations, but it's just not holding.
So, I'm wondering...there are a FEW bigger US cities not included in this AccuWeather plugin app that HTC is using - when the phones are officialy released in N. America in the (hopefully) near future, will these cities be added as supported options? I mean, no Denver? Tampa?...but St. Petersburg...!?!?

Denver works fine for me. I was upset I couldn't get more specific and use Boulder or Superior though.

oh, I didn't try adding Denver, I was just looking at the included list of cities.
Could someone point me in the right direction for changing the weather - i cannot find the file on my touch to change the details. I followed the lead posted earlier but can't for the life of me find the appropraite file to change.
Changing Weather city
Hi all
Quite simple to change the defined weather cities. Just download a registry editor like Mobile Registry Editor (http://www.breaksoft.com/Download/MRE/MobileRegistryEditor.zip) which allows you to edit the registry from your PC using ActiveSync. Then go to
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\HTC\HTCHome\Weather\Settings
And change the Keys Location and LoctionCode to the new city. To know the city code find it on http://www.accuweather.com/.
Cheers
you could always move to a city that is listed, this would resolve the problem....
Hi Everybody;

Fahrenheit Celsius - Make sure you are using the right one - The one you are most familiar with - Also - I've noticed that the HTC Weather is not always very accurate - Depending on when it was updated last at the source and when you last updated it. If it found your city and it is updating you should be good to go. If it is always wrong, then you might want to make sure that your device (Weather plugin is pointing to the right city *(Check your city code in the registry on your device compared to that from the Accueweather website for your city weather) make sure that it is the same. You will see the city code in the URL on the accueweather website for your city. I personally don't use the HTC Home Weather plugin very much anymore as I am using the Marsware WeatherPanel Plugin now in my Ultimate Launch setup. It is a much nicer display and gives alot more detailed weather information.

Read the instructions when you download it. It kind of takes a process. You have to find accuweather's weather code for your city, then go into weatherbase editor, go to your country, then go to menu, add city. Fill in the appropriate fields and in the last field you will have to write your weather code. For example, mine is NAM|US|NE|BELLEVUE.
You can find your code by going to the accuweather international site http://www.accuweather.com/world-index.asp?partner=accuweather&traveler=0 and then type in your city and country. Once you find it, check the URL for your local code (usually at the end) that will look like the example I gave you. Hope this helps.
I finally did it.
Thank you both very much

we can't help you unless you help us with what rom...radio....ect
I have the same problem. I added my city (Boxmeer, The Netherlands) to my list after installing some cab (Boxmeer isn't in the standard list).
It does display today's weather, but if you tap the 5 day forecast, nothing happens... and the weather tab kind of freezes.
ROM: 1.93.404.1
Radio: 1.00.25.25
The natural question would be: Does it work for any of the other, more major, on the list already, cities? For example, does it work for London?
I would suspect that it's just getting the 5 day forecast from some weather service. If Boxmeer wasn't on the default list then perhaps the weather service doesn't provide any more than one day's worth of weather info for that city.
Maybe there is a slight error with accuweather code, it has to letter perfect. I would try re-entering that in the weather database editor and see what happens. Remember to use the international site for the correct code.
