Hi,
Has anyone managed to get this to work on the XDA2i or am I climbing up the wrong tree?
anyone??
I installed it with a fortuna bluetooth gps and it works!
Anyway i had some problems with Plantronics headphone, i
made some tests and i suspected that Tomtom driver interact
with Plantronics, so i unistalled it!
Also i think that 2020i doesn't support 2 wire serial comunication, so
if you have a serial gps should not works! :?
Ciao
There should be no problems - I've been using it since the XDA2i was released, you need to ensure that you apply all of the updates etc. Let me know if you have any specific problems.
I can vouch that it works... Although you may need to reinstall bt-stack as tomtom overwrites it with old dll's...
Thanks everyone. I will try it.
Did someone tested the new TomTom 5.1 update with WM2005 to see if it works now 100% on WM2005?
I want to update my Qtek 2020 to WM2005 and the only thing that is stoping me is TomTom 5.
The last time I tested TomTom 5 in my Qtek, it had the backlight problem and it crashes alot in the midle of navigation.
Thanks
Hey, that's just what I wanted to ask here
... allthough I haven't been testing Magneto yet - but planned it for today
I think, that should be a good time to start trying magneto + tomtom 5.10
will report when ready ...
Hi,
Are there any former MDAiii / Co-Pilot owners that have successfully installed verion 5 of co-pilot on to their MDA Pros?
If so, HOW?
I am experincing problems commnuicating with the bluetooth GPS unit.
youll probbably need to un hide the gps pannel an then set the bt comp ports up
how is this done?
i read a thread reference TOM TOM and a reg hack but not sure whether that applies to the MDA PRO?

Are you using the original version or the updated 5.0.1.48 ?
I'm using .48 and select Bluetooth for my GPS and it picked it up straight away
hmmm very strange - I installed the 2003 cab / TT5 and my MDA shows version 5.0.1.22.
I have received an email from ALK and they have stated that Co-pilot V.5 isnt compatible with Version 6.
I am getting a free upgrade to version 6 next week but thanks for your help!
How does Co-Pilot compare to TomTom 5? I hear CoPilot 6 is now out too.

.22 was the shipping version, .48 is a free download on their web site, just copy the .cab to your SD card, uninstall, and then run CAB, it should be fine

Haven't seen 6, TT was useless to be as it had no coverage of Ireland, neither the Republic or 6 Counties.
CoPilot 5 had the best coverage at the time

Do you mean CoPilot 5 not compatible with WM5 ? How come you are getting a free upgrade ?
Oops sorry about that that last reply of mine didnt make much sense did it.
According to ALK Co-Pilot 5 is not compatible with WMv5.0 - thats what they said in an email when I asked them about co-pilot 5 not working with mda pro.
I originally had the MDA iii with co-pilot 5 but found a fault with it within the first few weeks. If you are within 28 days then you can get a free exchange but luckily for me there were no more in stock and they were being discontinued by this time so I waited just over two months and got a free upgrade to the MDA Pro but my Co-Pilot stopped working so I had a winge at customer services and they arranged it with a store to swap the co-pilot out when they get it in stock.
SWEET!
Hello,
I just bought a MDA Pro and tried today TomTom 6 with my new device.
Why is it so slow?? It has a 520MHz pocessor but it is even slower than my previous qtek 9100 @200MHz??
I have all the POI's turned off but that doesn't help.
Can someone please help me out here?
My Device info:
ROM: 2.50.00 WWE
Radio: 0.00.00 (sim unlocked)
Protocol: 42.37.P8
Regards,
Schmia
TT6 havent been releashed yet.
Wait for the final version to come out....oh and offcourse remember to pay for it before you ***** about it
wakeUpe dude!!!
TomTom is for sale in Holland, so your stupid comment is useless.
Norway is way behind! He he he ;-))

I have it in UK too. Screen refresh is about twice per second. What are you seeing?
I'm running on O2 Exec with a BT77 GPS.
Cheers,
Steve
on jasjar, tomtom is only slow in landscape, not in portait

Mine's just the same. Two frames per second in landscape mode.
In portrait mode it's a little bit better but not fast.
I'm using a tomtom bluetooth Sirf III reciever

WTF. I am awake......LOL.....I even checked tt's website
But yes, Norway is waaaaaay behind
are you sure mine is running fine much smoother than tt5 even in landscape
if your using a cracked version this could be the problem
hi, using tt6 on my mda pro without any issues..it is prefect. i would not say it it slow by any means..it is much better the tt5 - just the lack of rotation within the tt's menu is a minus...but u cannot have everything, can you ?
cudo
Go back to TT5 mate.TT6 sucks!

Well, not having used TT5, I wouldn't know, but TT6 is great. 1st time with GPS device and realy love it. Easy to install and use on Exec. I'm using with a Holux GPSlim 236 and its great
M5000/MDA Pro TomTom6 Bluetooth GPS How?
How the hell have you all got TT6 working?
I read on TT's site that its not SPVM5000 compatible (Not listed on the devices)
I have had TT5.21 working sweet as a nut on the M5000, with BT GPS (Model: FGPXBT02)!
Scrathing my head on this one - TT6 installs, loads, even allows me to configure home address, configure GPS device and navigate to all the menus, but it will not find the bloody GPS receiver.
How come?? when it worked fine on TT5.21??? Surely TT have not removed generic bluetooth support?
If someone has a generic bluetooth GPS receive working with TT6 I would be grateful if you told me how! - Dont want to have to go back to using 5.21 (even though it looks like the only solution!)
Cheers.
SPVM5000;

Ever tried TomTom 5? On my Magician TomTom 6 is slower than TomTom 5, see http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=1026668#post1026668
Update!!!
I have now successfully implemented TomTom V6 on an Orange SPVM5000.
After trying all sorts of stuff, including iGo2006 to chech the GPS was working, I hard reset the M5000 and re-installed TomTom V6 ... This still did not work... AAARRRGGGHHH
Searching through the forums I discovered that the 'NO GPS DEVICE' was common through all versions of TOM TOM and a solution was presented by a fellow user.
It turns out that TOM TOM (Any version) does not work unless you have the phone switched on (Smartphone versions only).
Out with the old simcard (defunct, just being used to stop the phone whinging about 'INSERT SIM') and in with a new PAYG from orange (not gonna use it for phoning as I have a BLACKBERRY, just using the M5000 as satnav and wireless PDA - have hands free car kit installed and did not want to remove it!!! )
Voila - the bloody thing works now - finds the GPS Device, finds the satellites and navigates the routes.
oooo - seems quicker than 5.21, and the maps look smarter - but thats about it. The maps dont seem to have been updated as our new build house number is still not on there, and the old properties have been demolished 18 months!!!! oh well - at least i have sat nav in the car again!!!
Lessons to be learned from this!!! - Don't disable the phone - lmao
Cheers!!!!
TT6 works very fine on my Universal. BT GPS and Contacts Navigation works without any problems. Redraw speed is awesome when compared to TT5.2 (at least with my configuration), although it is still less responsive than TT5.2 on a Magician.
The map for Germany is quite up to date as far as I can check.

Hi all,
I have O2 exec WM5 and tomtom 6 on it. It run very well.
However, AFter upgrade to WM6 , Tomtom 6 will not work on my O2 exec sue to not compatible.
Any advice to make it work, or i have to downgrade to WM5
I have make all backup before upgrade to WM6.
In addiiton, If i wanna downgrade in order to using Tomtom 6, What should i Do? Just run the back up or do i have to run upgrade ( with WM5) agian to downgrade it.
What is the risk for doing that?
Thanks

To be honest, I'm not sure what you are talking about. For starters there's no problem with TomTom 6 on WM6, it works fine, and even if there were a problem you could only take your Exec back to WM5, as there is no WM2003 ROM for the Exec.
If you are having problems installing TomTom 6, then a bit more info as to what the symptoms of the problem are would be helpful to diagnose the fault, and come up with a solution.
Cheers,
Steve.
